“Food/sauce is very flavorful, atmosphere is great and you can watch him making the noodles. What’s not to like?? Oh yeah and the cat robot that delivered our appetizers was awesome! We’re here at noon on a Monday and I can’t believe this place isn’t packed; with this delicious food it should be. We’re on vacation but I wish they had one in Charleston! Two thumbs way up!!“

“Good price for a AYCE. They have a good variety, a lot of seafood. Lobster, clams, shrimp, snails. The broth is delicious and service is good. I would come back, nice spot to chill and eat and they don’t rush you out after a certain time, you can take your time and enjoy the food!“

“小笼包, 葱油饼, 饺子, noodles, all housemade by owner, very delicious and tasty. It is such a hidden gem. We absolutely will return and let our friends know about this restaurant.
It is a tiny restaurant with few tables, can't take loads and loads of people.“

“A hidden hole in the wall gem in a fairly unknown plaza that has some awesome liangpi noodles.
The liangpi noodles is my go to for this spot. The noodles with the sesame sauce and the chili oil was so tasty.
I also got the rougamo beef and a lamb one. The meat was alright, but the bun had a dry texture and left an aftertaste. Not sure if it was just me, but I would stick with the noodles which they have several options for.
Service, on point. I did speak Cantonese to the lady working and she was fantastic recommending items and informing me how long things would take and if she had to step away while I was deciding.
This place is a takeout place so there aren’t any seats available.
Parking is only a few spots, but for the size of plaza and the shops there, it’s enough.
Great job overall“

“Really authentic. Tastes like home; a lot
Of Hunan dishes I’ve ordered in Toronto never tasted like when I used to visit my relatives in Hunan, but this one tasted EXACTLY like
How I had it in the village.
I’m really impressed, I just wish their online menu had English.“

“Why this place is not posted more on social media and review sites baffles me. The dumplings here are to die for, tastes much like the ones I had back in china. I haven’t tried much of the others dishes but I can vouch for their baos and dumpling.“

“We’ve been going to this place for awhile now , my hubby loves one of the soup menu , the chow mein noodles which we always have to ask them to remove or add ingredients and they are always very accommodating. My hubby is a picky eater. Price is pretty reasonable.“

“Ordered Shanghai Noodles, Ho Fun, Yang Chow Fried Rice and a spring roll. Shanghai noodles were kinda bland. Not much flavour and no way to comment on Uber to add some spice. Got a chili crisp cup but it still was kinda flat tasting. Ho fun was just OK too. Kinda dry and not many spring onions, also not very flavourful. Kinda boring. The fried rice on the other hand was great. Highly suggest that one, and the spring roll was pretty good as well. 4 is a fair score for the food I got here.“

“It’s been a long time since my last visit. The service is still top-notch, but the dinner premium set has noticeably fewer food options now. The 4-broth pot is too small, and the vegetables are cut so long that it's really hard to fit them into the compartments to cook. The most frustrating part is that they got rid of the crème brûlée and milk pudding!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The new dessert replacements just don't taste very good!!!!!!!!!
Strongly recommend bringing back the milk pudding and crème brûlée!!!!!!!!!“

“I really enjoyed my experience at Super Choy. The food was fresh, flavorful, and well-prepared, and everything I tried tasted great. The portions were satisfying, and the overall quality exceeded my expectations. The atmosphere was welcoming, and the service made the experience even better. “I’ve been coming to this restaurant many times since 2023. Even after moving to Montreal, whenever I visit Toronto, this place is still on my must-go list.
Since the team changed, I really feel the improvement. Overall, it has been a great change for me. The environment is much cleaner and more comfortable than before, and the flavors have improved significantly. The menu has been simplified — fewer dishes, but only the most distinctive and well-executed ones remain. Because of that, no matter what you order, you can trust that it will taste good. I truly appreciate this “less is more” philosophy when it comes to food.
The new team clearly focuses on the quality of the ingredients themselves, without relying on artificial flavors or unnecessary additions. If you’re a true foodie, you can definitely taste the authenticity.
As for the previous team, to be honest, they didn’t pay much attention to the environment. The restaurant felt a bit messy and unclean, like some small-town places in China from 10 years ago. The food was okay, but nowhere near as good as it is now. If I hadn’t been extremely homesick at that time, I probably wouldn’t have chosen this place before, mainly because I didn’t enjoy the atmosphere.
I’m really happy to see how much this restaurant has grown and improved. The current team is doing a wonderful job.“

“This morning was my first time ordering from Asian Fusion and the food is absolutely delicious, fresh and both combos were still hot by the time I got home. I ordered the Sweet and Sour Pork with Fried Rice and Vegetables for myself and got the Salt and Pepper Chicken with Noodles and Vegetables for my Husband. Both were portioned very well and at a reasonable price. We both enjoyed it! The owner currently working right now is very friendly and kind. This restaurant is officially my go to and I highly recommend eating at this wonderful establishment.“

“They have a great selection of food. We went there two times, one dine-in, one take-out. Their spicy potato is very addictive. We tried their lamb, beef, pork belly skewers and they're cooked perfectly. The salad is a great appetizer. The garlic clam and grilled eggplant are a must order.“

“Situated in a beat-up food court on Sheppard E between Brimley & McCowan, the current husband-and-wife team has been running the operation for nearly 30 years. There's no social media hype here, just old-school, comforting dai pai dong-style quality. Items are generally $11-13 +HST and everything is well-seasoned and with good wok hei. On my most recent visit I ordered the Beef Brisket Fried Noodles, Shrimp & Egg Chow Ho Fan, and Salted Fish w/ Diced Chicken Fried Rice. Triple crown. Cash only.“

“Brought my mom to one of her favorite food spots today! This place may not look fancy or big it’s actually a pretty small restaurant but the chef makes incredible dishes. Mom always orders their spicy fish, and we also got a spicy sour cabbage and their signature fried pancake dish (the pancakes are sliced into noodle form and stir-fried with bean sprouts). Everything was so good! The portions are generous too, we even had leftovers. Highly recommend this place, and the customer service is amazing as always!“

“This place was recommended by family.
The first couple of times I tried their spicy soups and yes, it’s quite spicy. I normally can handle the spice but it’s also because the soup broth is very hot (comes with a hot plate underneath), it made it extra spicy! The following visit I tried their regular noodle soup/broth and it was much better. There is side condiments so you can add however much spice you like. The price you pay is pretty good compared to other places - you get egg, beef, fish, corn, tofu, lettuce, black fungus, along with the noodles (some places you only get noodle and beef). Value is definitely there. Ambiance is good, not too noisy. Staff are friendly and attentive. Really like how the broth is always very hot so it keeps your food hot even if you’re a slow eater!“

“A great spot for traditional northern Chinese cuisine, especially for brunch. They offer freshly made buns that are soft, warm, and very satisfying. The green bean crepe with fried dough is a must-try, with a nice balance of texture and flavor, and the soft tofu soup is also comforting. The menu focuses on classic northern-style dishes, making it a reliable place for an authentic and casual meal. Highly recommended.“

“We found this Hakka spot wayyyy better than all the over hyped ones on the social media. The portions are generous, the noodles and rice are equally good. My absolute favourite is their Bombay chicken, so good. Their honey chilli chicken wings is delicious, highly addictive . Simple place packed with yummy food!“

“Stir fried beef chow fun on the right (乾炒牛河) and fried egg noodle with beef and seasonal vegetables on the left (時菜牛肉炒麵). BOTH together for only $17.00 ($8-$9 each) taxes included AND complimentary drink (chrysanthemum tea/soy milk) OR soup of the day. This is value town. Prices cannot be beat, especially in this economy. Not only is it economical, it rivals if not exceeds sit down restaurant quality and taste. Both ladies working the register are very pleasant to deal with. Highly recommended. One of my go-to Chinese take-out spots!“

“Very hospitable man. My family of 3 decided to come to this hidden gem on a sunday not knowing they were supposed to be closed on sundays. So naturally I had to ask why he opened his store that day. He said whenever he has free time on sundays, he comes and opens his shop :).
Also, some easter egg you might miss: the owner actually used to practice traditional chinese medicine and have incorporated his knowledge into his simple yet energizing home style dishes. He said once you're done eating it, you'll feel energized rather than lethargic.
As per the food itself, Its pretty good and filling. The noodles appear to have been hand made and the broth (add some salt) was fragrant and easy to consume. The beef was extremely tender and the intestine was perfect.
Key take aways: this place isnt usually a sit down place, but if u so desire like my family did? You can! I believe there are about 6 chairs there or perhaps just abit more. But yeah, just dont complain if it isnt all that fancy. But for us? We'd much prefer to eat at places like this than anywhere over the top so we can focus on the food.
Next, bring cash.
Lastly? Be patient and say hi to the man. Running this place single handedly (atleast on that day we visited) for nearly 20 years, a hi hello here and there can go a long way :).
For less than 12$... these are some of the last gems you'll see around that can still fill you up.“
“Our soup was way too spicy for us because it was our first time trying it, and we chose the spicy option without really knowing. It turned out to be extremely spicy for us. We asked for help, and they kindly gave us a new soup. They were very helpful, friendly, and sweet. If you want to have a good time and try Asian food, you should definitely come here. Also, everything was very delicious.🫰🥹“

“These are hands down some of the best dumplings for the quality and price. We bought a bag of shumai and a bag of hargow. We saw the lady making them in store. Her husband provided great customer service, and checkout was quick. We were in and out of the store in under 2 minutes. When we tried them today, we felt they were restaurant quality! Delicious! 😋 This is going to be our one-stop shop for dumplings going forward. 🥟“

“I grew up eating at this restaurant when I was young. This is where I first discovered Cantonese Shrimp in Lobster Sauce, and although I've had the same dish in many restaurants in many cities, this restaurant, for me, sets the standard for this particular dish.
Sometimes when they get too busy, they would have us share a table with other people, and I never liked this, but it was worth it for the food.
We always eat here when in Toronto.“

“3 words chicken curry laksa
Small place, counter seating, enough for a small family, the rest sits outside on the curb (just joking).
Choice of little spice, medium spice and burn your tongue spicy. Luckily I chose medium spicy which was just about right.
Ordered take out, got home, the hot noodles were starting to stick together, quickly separated using my chopsticks. The curry soup stock was placed in a separate round container, still very hot.
The fish balls, tofu, chicken, bean sprouts were swimming in delicious hot spicy curry broth. When combined with the noodles I could have sworn I heard angels singing.
Super delicious at a surprisingly reasonable price. Life is good.“

“Cash only. I keep coming back to this HK style restaurant whenever I have a craving. It’s always hot and made to order. It has very basic tables and chairs. The staff are efficient. Tables are cleared and wiped quickly after you leave. The owner is one of the chefs in the kitchen.
Half the menu has English translations and half does not (I didn’t take pictures of everything). All the items offered are posted on the walls. It reminds me of street side cafe from my childhood.
If you can’t read the menu (some are written in simplified slang), politely ask questions and point to the one you want.“

“Great value for what you pay. The $6 tax included roasted pork with rice and soy milk is an incredible value meal. Hard to compare to First Markham place as the price is almost half, but I guess if you bought two of these it'd be almost the same. The ladies manning the cash register are very friendly as well and despite how busy they are, manage to make you feel as a valued customer. Their $5 sweet and sour pork is also a steal. Highly recommend if youre considering between the BBQ places nearby. The other two shops in the plaza also have a similar deal for $6 so you can't go wrong coming here.
Also very efficient and quick in getting my order despite there being a lineup.“

“I was fortunate enough to eat like an Oriental gourmet king. The Oyster Egg Omelette is the breakfast of your dreams, with a chewy, gooey base created from sweet potato starch, reminding you of soft mochi. The embedded egg omelette is pan-fried to a golden brown, offering toasty, nutty Maillard umami while absorbing the fragrant oil. The outer edge adds a richer, more eggy bite, whereas the tender oysters add a pleasant seafood umami. Duck smoked on a sugar cane sounds irresistible, and the smoky skin sheepishly concealing the tender, juicy meat showcases a brilliant play between the delicate sweetness and the savory smoky seasoning. Sweet and sour pork is not created equal; each chunk of pork retains a pleasurable crisp that bursts with a tender, juicy meaty bite. The sauce balances sweet and acidity, bright and appetizing, clinging to the batter without softening it. The tofu stew would certainly be a Buddha’s delight, packed with tons of vegetables, mushrooms and tofu. The coarsely mashed taro, cooked until creamy, provides a sweet, earthy membrane with a nutty aroma - simple yet satisfying.

“Very authentic baozi breakfast experience. Honestly I been looking for a place like this for a while. I thought everything tasted like how they are suppose to taste, and their 天津三鲜包 was definitely a highlight: nice and juicy and very flavorful. Dip them in some chili oil and vinegar, and wash them down with some soymilk for a perfect start to your day!
Note however the place is quite small on the inside, and the seats aren't the most spacious (which by itself is also quite an authentic northern Chinese breakfast experience lol).“

“This was our second time visiting Nian Yi Kuai Zi, and it certainly won't be our last. The Sichuan cuisine here is incredibly authentic—perfectly spicy and numbing (málà), just the way it should be! The signature Jianghu Fish and Twice-Cooked Pork are absolute must-tries.
A special shoutout to the staff, Jackson. He was exceptionally polite, attentive, and speaks fluent Cantonese, which made our dining experience even better. He noticed I was sweating from the spicy food and kept checking in to offer more tissues, and he proactively refilled our water bottle the moment it was half-empty. Truly top-notch service. We'll definitely be back!“
