“ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS lives up to the hype, well deserved Michelin. The flavor profiles were amazing, if I were to close my eyes and think of the taste, the dish tastes like that. The only complaint is that I couldn’t eat more!
The service fantastic, lovely staff, kind and very accommodating.
The ambiance can be both fun and romantic, felt very cozy and comfortable.
I will be back!“

“Finally lively AYCE hotpot with wagyu.
Liuyishou is a popular outfit for traditional hotpot, and here in the GTA they have long moved to AYCE format. This Scarborough location has been around for a long time as seen by the dated interior. Nonetheless it’s still popular with some good promos to compete among the huge swath of Asian restaurants in this plaza. We chose an array of hotpot broths including the house special spicy, sukiyaki, pork bone broth & tomato soup.
We came here to celebrate a family occasion, and Liuyishou delivered with its good selection of broths, meats, seafood, and veggies. The $8 Wagyu add-on on weekend was a nice upgrade—thinly sliced, tender, and worth trying if you want something a bit more indulgent. The $3.99 all-you-can-drink station was a pleasant surprise too, making it easy to keep refilling without thinking twice. Service was quick even despite it being relatively busy and a bit loud during dinner peak.
Note the pricing per adult ($34.99 weekend dinner) excludes the soup base which is about $17 for a large shareable pot or $9 for an individual sized pot per guest so the bill can rack up. The wagyu and drinks are add-ons too. They do have a 2 adult + 1 kid family combo for $73.99 on weekends with one drink pitcher excluding soup base. Dessert is included such as taro soft serve, rice ball soup & cold jelly.
Skip it or hit it? Hit it for a casual, authentic hotpot experience.“

“Guys this place was awesomeeee. The food was amazing. the service was insanely fast. before the waitress was even done taking all our orders they were already bringing in the soups. and you're only allowed one ice cream per person but the waitress gave me an extra one to be nice. and then all of a sudden this other angel of a waitress brings us three extra orders (by accident). but we obvi werent penalized for it. i 1000% recommend this place. bathrooms are nice and clean too, but they're downstairs so maybe if you have mobility issues you may struggle with that. actually if you have a wheelchair the space may be a bit tight for you. no parking nearby but as for most things in toronto u can transit there easily. 5/5!!“

“This place is good if you wanna save money & eat alot. There was quite alot of food in the bowl when I ordered the dry spinach noodles with the minced pork. The taste was alright, not the best. The workers were pretty nice, atmosphere's fine, although the menues & bowls felt kinda sticky.“

“Had dinner here and the food is perfect this winter weather. We had the spicy tripe and beef brisket noodle soups. I was surprised how much meat and toppings there was (sliced kelp, tofu skins, two quail eggs, etc.). Mild spice tripe was pretty spicy for me but the flavour of the broth and chewy thick noodles were amazing. This is well worth the price. The ordering system is convenient, you scan the QR code and individually order for that table. I would definitely come back to try the lamb and rice dishes.“

“We tried the Dan Dan noodles and the handmade noodle soup and both were so good! The noodles had the perfect chewy texture and everything tasted really fresh and flavourful. The price point was amazing too — very affordable for the quality and portion size. I’d definitely come back again.
The space itself also has a lot of potential to feel even cozier with just a few small touches, like some light background music for ambiance. It was pretty quiet when we visited, so you could hear people eating and everyone else’s conversations quite clearly, which made it feel a little awkward at times. We also sat near the window and noticed the front door closes pretty hard whenever someone comes in or out, so maybe a softer door closer could help make the space feel a bit more comfortable overall.
But honestly, these are just small suggestions — the food was absolutely worth the visit and I’m excited to come back and try more from the menu!“
“Loved the fried enoki mushrooms with the sweet chili sauce!! they were so good and definitely my favorite. The chicken wing skewers were really tasty too. Portions were pretty decent and everything came out fresh and hot. Would definitely come back and order the enoki mushrooms again!“

“Definitely affordable!! Food taste is not the greatest, however, it definitely worth the price. Pan fried buns was great. I wish it was fried a bit more though, it’ll be so much better. Chicken wings are definitely amazing! Dumpling soup taste like home cooked meal but definitely still worth every penny.“

“Absolutely one of the best Sichuan restaurants I’ve been to in Toronto. The food had the authentic numbing and spicy flavors that Sichuan cuisine is known for, without feeling overwhelming or one-dimensional. Every dish was packed with flavor and tasted freshly made.“

“Jing's is an upscale Chinese restaurant in Mount Pleasant/Midtown. I went with my husband to try out the lunch specials. The staff was friendly and helped explain how the lunch deal works. I ended up ordering the:
Wonton soup, incl mini mushrooms - the broth was flavourful, served piping hot, wontons have some veggies in them.
General tao - rice slightly seasoned but in the drier side which is fine with the main dish. The chicken was perfectly cooked, the sauce the sweet and savory. I enjoyed this quite a bit
Cold roll - mango, lettuce, carrot, radish and peanut sauce. Tasty! Lots of sauce to roll ratio
Beef ho fun - big noodles, soft not overcooked. Seasoning was pleasant, healthy beef serving
Ha gow +$2.5 - tasty but overall pretty standard, wrap to filling ratio a bit off, not worth paying extra in lunch combo
They did also have an incredible Peking duck lunch special but it does require a minimum spend which we were not able to hit with just the two of us. I suggest bringing a group of 4 if you wish to take advantage of the Peking Duck Special!“

“Great for solo dining! They have tables with drawers on the bottom for you to store your bag. There is a phone stand/holder you can use if you’re dining alone and want to prop your phone up.
Staff was really nice and explained how everything worked since it was my costs time visiting. You scan a QR code to order but there’s also a physical menu. There are buttons on the table if you need to flag staff or ask for the bill.
Food was great. I had leftovers and they packaged it up for me in a to go container. They also accept cash which includes a small discount!
If you are dining with someone else, the dividers fold up and you can dine side by side.
Pretty quiet on a Saturday at 1-2pm, and got seated right away“

“We've lived close to this restsuesnt for a few years, but never thought to go in until I saw it on a list of highly rated Chinese restaurants in the city. We decided to check it out, and we're so glad we did - it is now our favourite Chinese food spot in the area. While there are similar restaurants in the area, the quality here is a few levels higher. As well, prices are a little lower and the service is really good. Our favourite dishes were the fried rice, har gow, siu mai, green beans, and bbq duck & pork.“

“Went for dinner last night before going to a show. The menu was a bit out of our normal experiences but we wanted a different experience. Or booth was comfortable. Jason answered all of our questions, no matter how silly they probably were for him. He was engaging but not over the top - very likeable. We tried four of the spicy dishes and they were all exceptional! We did not try the skewers, which we now regret, but we will go back to do that for sure. What a great dinner experience! Thank you, Jason, and your team. We even enjoyed seeing your take-out container in action 😉.“

“The best handmade noodles in Toronto! It's simply my favorite place for home-style cooking! They have a wide variety of flavorful dishes, the place is clean, and they always welcome you with tea! The noodles are completely fresh and made to order, which makes them taste the same every time.
If you have the chance, don't miss the opportunity to eat at this great place.“

“Food was good- very well packed for takeout. BEWARE- there are 3 noodle me locations- each with the items numbered differently on their menu !! (Why??) the Toronto location is inexplicably called just “downtown “- well, the Hamilton location is also “downtown “. Leads to unnecessary confusion and incorrect orders. Make sure you are ordering the menu called “Hamilon “ or you will not get the correct order! ( ask me how I know…..)“

“As a local from Hong Kong, The place really reminded me of restaurants at home. Authentic menu and impressive service (staff were really friendly). Excellent value for money!
They also allow payment with foreign debit cards which may not be that common in Chinatown.“

“This is honestly one of my favorite lamb skewer spots. The meat is very juicy and perfectly seasoned. We always order the guobaorou (sweet and sour pork) here because it is incredibly crispy and delicious. In addition, their draft beer pitchers are very cheap, which makes it the perfect combination.
However, please note that if you visit during dinner time, there is a very long line and you might have to wait for 1 to 2 hours. I highly recommend calling them before you go to check if they have available tables. Also, please keep in mind that there is a 2-hour seating limit once you are seated. The atmosphere is great for hanging out with friends, so I highly recommend this place“

“This is my 3rd time dining in this beef hotpot restaurant. I also take my friends and colleagues here, and they all like the food. The beef is extremely fresh and the price is quite reasonable. I recommend the rib eye/sirloin and chunk slices. Their beef fried rice is always mouth-watering. 2-3 people is the ideal group size for this restaurant. I highly recommend it.“

“This is our favorite take-out spot! The Tso chicken is always flavorful and done right. The pricing is a teeny bit on the high side for the portion sizes especially considering there is nowhere to sit but it tastes delicious so still giving it 5 stars! We have ordered here several times now and have not been disappointed. There isn’t really any indoor seating or dining so this is basically a carry out only spot.“

“I love this place. It's the best pho I've had in the city. It's definitely a Toronto vibe before gentrification infected everything. It takes them 18 hours to make the broth. I spoke to the lady who runs the place. She's a sweetheart, and makes delicious food for what she's asking. The spring rolls are huge and delicious, the pho is savoury and the spices come through perfectly. I will admit, it's a bit on the saltier side.
The chilli oil she has at the table is fantastic, don't be shy as its not as spicy as it is flavourful.
You can easily share an XL rare beef pho between two guys or maybe 3 ladies, depending how hungry you are.
Bring cash as it saves her money, but she does take credit and debit if you need. The real treat here is the pho. You can do other dishes and she has specials constantly. Very affordable spot for the up and coming in this expensive city.
Don't expect fancy, but do expect huge & delicious pho for 2017 prices.“

“You may not find a good but cheap Chinese noodle soup other than this one. A hidden gem near UoT and Queen’s Park subway station.
I love their summer light single hotpot combo with only $9.99, can you believe that? A lot of noodle, a lot of toppings, and actually the soup is exactly my taste
Highly rcm their ice cream parfaits as well. Good flavour, affordable price! Definitely will come back here soon“

“Went here for my friend's birthday party and helped her pick out some of the items to order prior to the event. Overall, I thought the food, service, and ambience in the restaurant were all great. I've been to both akin and r&d now and I greatly enjoyed both.
My personal favorites from the menu were the broccolini, the fried rice, and bao. I thought the eggplant was a bit plain, and while I enjoyed the karaage, there was something different about the taste and texture of the skin which I wasn't a fan of. Despite that, I would gladly visit this restaurant again.“

“This review is long overdue. We first enjoyed Tumi’s fabulous food during the Covid lockdown. They were a regular “go-to” during that time, with a special focus on their amazing appetizer selections. Everything on that section of the menu is delicious, with special mention reserved for their killer Wood Ear Mushroom. Super generous portion and insanely tasty.
Since then we’ve tried pretty much everything on their menu, and it’s all very good. Of course they absolutely rock their dumplings: generous and delicious fillings; perfectly prepared wraps; and great either steamed or pan fried.
Oh, and recently they introduced a new $15 lunch special menu. We’ve only tried a couple of the dishes, and not surprisingly they were yummy!
Tumi is a Junction gem and well worth a visit.
Highly recommended.“

“As someone who spent years in Delhi, I’ve always had high standards when it comes to street food, especially momos. I was just passing by this restaurant in Toronto when I noticed momos on the menu and decided to try it out of curiosity. Honestly, the experience went far beyond my imagination.
I ordered the tandoori momos and shawarma, and both were absolutely incredible. The momos were perfectly cooked, full of flavor, with that smoky tandoori taste done just right. The chutney brought back memories of Delhi street food instantly. The shawarma was equally impressive — fresh, juicy, well-seasoned, and packed generously.
You can genuinely feel the passion and quality in the food here. It’s rare to randomly walk into a place and end up this impressed. Definitely one of the most unexpectedly satisfying food experiences I’ve had in Toronto. Highly recommended!“

“Great skewer spot in Chinatown! Highly recommend the eggplant, which is double the size of what you get at Street Grill and just as good. The skewers are all great as well and the staff are so friendly! They gave us free marshmallows to roast at the end which was the perfect touch.“
“Fun experience! Huge variety of ingredients and everything looked fresh. The actual process of building your bowl is self serve (we were confused and went up to the register first after being shown a seat). You pay by weight and while it's not necessarily cheap, the amount you end up with is easily at least two meals and can be taken home. Ice cream and sauce bar is self serve too, and essentially unlimited. (bingfen is a dollar)“

“Have been here probably more than a dozen time over the past 4 years for both a la carte and ayce. Don’t get me wrong, the food is amazing, but for the price? the a la carte is really not worth all that. The buffets, on the other hand, are a different story since I am willing to starve myself all day for them.
The best deals from HDL have been the $2.95 Marbled Beef and the Meat Carnival, but sadly both of these absolute steals are no longer available at this location. The Flexi-Semi Buffet is great too, but it would be so much better if it included the Flat Iron Steak in addition to the current protein options. I personally think the soup bases are way way overpriced so I recommend just getting water to save money since the sauce bar (for $3.99) provides all the flavoring you’d need tbh + unlimited fruits.
But hey, I’m a uni student so if you’re balling unlike me, go ahead and splurge. Maybe consider giving me a call if you are feeling generous too and want to feed a broke big back. I promise to eat your money’s worth.“
