“We always have an amazing time at any Haidilao’s restaurant. The staff are very warm and well trained. The ambience and the food is always fresh. The hand stretch noodles, the beef tallow with Sichuan peppercorns hot pot, mushroom based hot pot all were amazing. They top it up periodically. The meat was fresh and delicious so were there drinks. They also take care of any allergies that you may have. Definitely recommended.“

“The food was delicious! We got the squid, orange chicken, silver needle noodles, black sesame French toast and the self serve of the day. We loved the dishes, but our favourite bites of the night were definitely the French toast and soft serve. It is a must try!“

“Came here with a large group with relatively little warning (called 30 minutes in advance) and everyone was so kind and accommodating. The food came quickly despite it being busy, the staff was courteous and everything was absolutely delicious. Will be back!! (With less people haha!)“

“Amazing little noodle restaurant in the heart of the city. The broth was delicious and the service was extremely friendly. Our waitress even explained to us the history behind the broth recipe. I would eat here every week if I lived in Toronto.“

“Had dinner here and the food is perfect this winter weather. We had the spicy tripe and beef brisket noodle soups. I was surprised how much meat and toppings there was (sliced kelp, tofu skins, two quail eggs, etc.). Mild spice tripe was pretty spicy for me but the flavour of the broth and chewy thick noodles were amazing. This is well worth the price. The ordering system is convenient, you scan the QR code and individually order for that table. I would definitely come back to try the lamb and rice dishes.“

“My favourite Chinese spot for cheap eats! Everything on the menu is super affordable and EXTREMELY YUMMY. My favourites are definitely the pan-fried pork dumplings, the spicy popcorn chicken, the bean sprouts fried noodles, and the fried milk.

​I had a great time at Liuyishou! If you’re looking for authentic flavor and a solid value, this is the spot.

​The Food: Everything was amazing and incredibly tasty. The ingredients were fresh, and the broth bases had so much depth.
​The Service: The staff is very kind and nice. They were attentive throughout the meal, making sure we had everything we needed.
​The Value: They have a really good All-You-Can-Eat (AYCE) menu. There is a wide variety of meats, veggies, and snacks to choose from.

“Really good! The eggplant, stir fry cabbage, and the fish in oil were the stars of the show. They were really accommodating when I ordered what I thought was laziji but it was with cartilage bits, so they swapped me out for something similar. The cartilage version was tastier if you don't mind the texture.

“Family Sunday lunch after Mass at church. Good choice. Chinese food with an edge in taste, presentation, & price. Just delicious. We had their lunch special which is value for money. Family ordered chicken, beef soups, mixed seafood, crispy beef. The beef was soft inside and crispy outside. The sides - mango salad, siu mai, crispy shrimps, chicken roll were all above the usual Chinese food. The seating though was a bit tight, the art decor is nice. Great for family dining. Service is great as well.“

“Have walked by this place hundreds of times and finally came in on a snowy day. Very solid handmade noodles here that gets pretty much made to order. Sesame beef pancake were great as well, but the heavily advertised popcorn chicken probably isn't worth ordering. This one was dry and overfried, there are better ones out there, but otherwise the noodles there were delicious.“

“I went here with some friends for lunch, we sat in the back group area. I got the spicy chicken rice, which was so delicious. Unfortunately service was lacking, our food took a long time to arrive, they forgot utensils and got our orders confused with other tables. Chinese barbecue 燒味 hangs in the window, ready for takeout. A favourite spot in the neighbourhood even when it was called Sing Sing BBQ before the owener retired, a fixture on Broadview for decades.
This spot is suitable for quick meal even if take out, the hospitable staff works hard, stays positive and makes this place great.

“I absolutely loved the food here (the grilled lamb is a must-try)! Also, do yourself a favor and try their cocktails. I’m not usually a big drinker, but I have to get one every time I'm here. I’ve tried the rose and the apple ones, and both were amazingly delicious.

The atmosphere is great and the staff are all so friendly. A special thank you to the server with the blonde hair - he was so sweet, attentive, and polite!

A quick tip: I’d highly suggest calling before you head over because they’re very popular, even on weekdays. The team is super helpful over the phone and will let you know if there’s a line or if they can add you to a waitlist to save you some waiting time.“

(Why??) the Toronto location is inexplicably called just “downtown “- well, the Hamilton location is also “downtown “. Leads to unnecessary confusion and incorrect orders. Make sure you are ordering the menu called “Hamilon “ or you will not get the correct order! ( ask me how I know…..)“

“I had a great experience at this Hunan restaurant! The interior decor is full of Chinese charm, with warm-toned lanterns paired with brick walls that create an amazing atmosphere. “Portions are huge and food is delicious. I always get the signature sliced beef brisket maocai soup with sweet potato noodles, extra super spicy (+$1), and regular numbing. I get the combo with the ice cream because the ice cream here is also very good. I like the jasmine green tea also.

I’ve never finished my portion of food… There’s always a ton of bean sprouts, veggies, and soup left. I kinda wish you could customize the ingredients beyond adding things because I don’t want to eat that many bean sprouts.

The other dishes are also good. You can tell this is an authentic Chinese restaurant by the demographic of customers haha

“Really enjoyed the concept — pick your own toppings and soup base. The ingredients tasted really fresh, and I loved the variety of options, especially seafoods.

The shrimp paste was super bouncy and flavourful, and it was cool to see premium toppings like abalone available. My favourite soup base is Sukiyaki, not spicy at all :)

The space was clean and modern, and the free ice cream at the end was a nice bonus. Definitely a great spot if you’re craving a customizable hot bowl.“

“Ordered beef ginger, Peruvian style beef and crispy noodles with chicken and veggies. Both the beef curries were delicious, absolutely loved it. The plates and utensils were quite dirty, asked them to change it. Staffs are friendly, but when asked about the dishes there's language barrier. It was saturday night, it was full house. Going back to try the beef dishes again.“

“Went for dinner last night before going to a show. The menu was a bit out of our normal experiences but we wanted a different experience. Or booth was comfortable. Jason answered all of our questions, no matter how silly they probably were for him. He was engaging but not over the top - very likeable. We tried four of the spicy dishes and they were all exceptional! We did not try the skewers, which we now regret, but we will go back to do that for sure. What a great dinner experience!
