Overall the dishes can be a bit too sweet for my liking. The sweetness is subtle at first, i only started realizing that later on as more dishes are served and i found myself thinking oh this is getting a bit heavy. Still really enjoyed my experience at lake Inez! It’s quickly becoming one of mg favourite spots in the city.“

There was a row of empty booths too, and it’s not like there wasn’t a server there because there were still SOME people seated by the window.Otherwise, our server was amazing and attentive. He got the vibe and did his job proper. For food, we got one creamy mushroom pasta, the smoked salmon pasta, as well as a margarita pizza. The pasta was SO creamy and the texture was perfect. The pizza was actually thin sliced and you can taste the quality in ingredients.A bit pricey, but that’s reflected in their quality. Will be back, thank you for having me! :)“

The driver nor I was made aware until I check the bag. The driver then called Gabby's to inquire why he was not notified he was delivering a partial order, he was dismissed and told to give me the phone. The young lady (Gabby's employee) then proceeded to convey the bottle was not available and that I'd have to attempt a refund through Skip the Dishes, not Gabby's. She was quite dismissive and closed with a very sarcastic "have a nice evening" and hung up.Needless to say, Gabby's on Eglinton is off-limits to me and my family.Update:David, the owner, arrived at my doorstep to personally deliver my order.I'm appreciative of this, he has renewed my faith in humanity (and Gabby's). “We got the shrimp bites, wedge salad, octopus al olivo, and corn fritters. The shrimp bites were awful and a really bad way to start off our meal. I was actually getting nervous that the rest of our dishes were going to be the same calibre. The shrimp was overcooked and under seasoned. The vermicelli noodles added zero flavour and unnecessary crunch given the shrimp is already breaded. It was just a bad dish and they should honestly take it off the menu. The rest of the food however is a 5/5. We got the wedge salad next which was dressed perfectly and had great crunch. The octopus al olivo was perfect. The octopus was thinly cut yet still perfectly cooked. The sauce was so good that we asked for extra crostinis so we could finish it. The corn fritters had a lovely texture, slight crunch but dense inside and pairs nicely with the slightly sour yogurt and sweet chutney.I would definitely come again. I would’ve also given them a 5 if it weren’t for the shrimp bites. I would recommend to anyone to give this place a try!“

“This is a hot spot to dine. If you like spicy foods you need to try this place out. The decor was modern and chic, lighting was dim and you get the bar like feeling the moment you walk in, with a romantic and intimate feeling. Many young professionals come here to dine and relax with their friends and coworkers. Not quite kid friendly in terms of food options, but if your kids can handle spices, definitely bring them here to try. The service was good, it was busy and packed when I came here, so the server had a lot on their hands. Appetizers came first, then main courses were served in a paced manner. If you enjoy curry on the sweeter side with a hit of hotness, the beef massaman curry was really nice. This dish is served with a bowl of jasmine rice. The banana leaf fish was served with sticky rice on the side, this bundle of fish was salty, and cramped together with clear vermicelli noodles, definitely have to eat together in 1 bite with the sticky rice to cut down on the salt. It also had spiciness to it. The tapioca dumplings reminded me of the taste of fresh rolls at a Vietnamese restaurant, they were very good. You eat them with lettuce, cilantro, mint and peanuts. The satay skewers were definitely a good hit, well rounded flavours with each bite. Green papaya fritters had such a nice crunch to them. They paired well with the dipping sauce that was sweet and salty. Beef jerky was a bit chewy, it came with a sauce. This one was a mild spicy. Drunken noodles, choice of chicken or shrimp. This dish had flavour, medium spicy and salty as well. The noodles were cut in thick pieces (hand cut noodles), different for every bite. Banana fritters were crunchy and slightly sweet, but not too sweet, it came with a side of pandan dipping sauce with added a nice kick of flavour that pairs well with banana. Mango sticky rice with coconut, I'm not a big fan of this one because after dinner and eating more sticky rice seemed like a meal on its own. Although the mangos were really good in this dessert, so fresh and sweet. Ice cream! It is homemade with interesting bits of fruit on the bottom. I enjoyed this one, different than any ice cream I have tried.“

We had the pork tacos, the barbacoa tacos, and the carne asada tacos. The barbacoa, in my opinion, was the best! We topped off our meal with the salted caramel brownie & churros. Omg. Omg. Omg. That brownie was unreal. Although the exterior of the building seems a bit….well, you know…. But holy smokes. The food. The service. The whole vibe. Incredible. The fact that the ENTIRE FOOD MENU is gluten free (the only thing with gluten is the beer, and they have specific glasses to serve them in so no cross-contamination occurs) I’m so impressed. “Friendly, homely comfort food. Good vibes and affordable. The place itself has a fusion diner and Speakeasy look with a vue on the kitchen. We recommend if you're just passing by or from the neighborhood. The club sandwich had white or brown option, fries fantastic, crunchy and tasty. Thank you! It was so good the photo came after.“

Horseshoe Tavern Bar • $

“Was there for a show on a Friday night. The front part of the building is a bar. The back part is where the shows take place. So you can go in for pre drinks before they up the back. A few sit down tables available in the back. Downstairs for the bathroom. Drinks reasonable priced and service was good. Place is way bigger than what you’d think. Very cool vibe. Tonnes of history. Awesome place. #checkerboardfloor“

“I met friends here for drinks and food and was shocked and delighted to arrive and see the sandwich board out front advertising pints of indie Ale House Instigator IPA on special for $6. All day long.In my experience of reading sandwich boards in Toronto, fancy bars and dive bars alike are pretty stingy with their happy hours, usually offering a deal on one of their most boring, flavorless beers.I don't know if this IPA promo is a one-off for the John or not, but kudos to them for satisfying our tastebuds and stretching our beer dollar on this visit. We won't forget. To no one's surprise, we had 3 beers each. We also ordered a lot of food. I had the John burger ($17), which was really good. The patty was simple and meaty, good toppings and a bun that fit the burger and didn't overwhelm it. Fries were decent and I appreciated that they came out hot. Others ordered wings and sausage on a bun and dill fries. Everyone was happy. The service was super relaxed and friendly. Patrons seemed jovial and a few were pretty wasted, which added to the lively atmosphere. A fun night had by all.“

“I booked the back room at Her Father's Cider Bar for my birthday celebration and everything was absolutely amazing. The food, drink selection, ambiance, hospitality and overall experience- everything exceeded my expectations!I worked closely with their manager Josh to coordinate the timing, capacity, budget, food and dietary restrictions for my group. He was extremely flexible to work with and ensured that everyone in my group had a meal that they could eat (we had a couple vegetarians/vegans). Even though we only corresponded through email, he was extremely quick with getting back to me and answering all our my questions - no matter how big or small they were. Having him as a contact made me extremely comfortable and less stressed with the planning since he clearly knows his stuff when it comes to special events and planning! The server who helped take care of my group was extremely attentive while also easygoing and flexible. She was patient despite our group being so large and split into two, and I greatly appreciated her attention to detail when it came to catering to my vegan guests and latecomers.I had the chicken & waffles and it was the perfect size. Their apple butter and apple ketchup are both amazing and accompanied the food perfectly. I would love to come back to try other brunch items as everyone else's food looked really good as well! I also can't wait to visit again to try their dinner menu and I know for sure that this is going to be a lovely date night location going forward!Thank you everyone at Her Father's for your amazing hospitality and service!Vegetarian options: Shakshuka, french toast and modified eggs Benedict. Vegans got a Tempah quesadilla.Dietary restrictions: Vegans were accommodated for!“

“It was my first time and everything i tried was so good. Danny was very kind in serving us. He made sure we got all items on time and that we are good for everything.
