“Service was excellent. We were greeted and seated immediately after walking through the door. Servers came by frequently to give extra napkins. And the bibs + hairtie are a nice touch.
Food was exceptional. We were craving some delicious hand pulled noodles and these did not disappoint. Noodles had the perfect hand pulled texture. They were springy, and the perfect vessel for the broth and meat. We also ordered some side dishes (numbing chicken, dumplings and cold starters). All very tasty. Will definitely go back if we are in Toronto again.“

“Although the restaurant is small, it feels very warm and cozy. The rice noodles taste great, and the soup is rich and flavorful. They also offer some Yunnan snacks, such as beef pancakes, which I order every time. I often come here for a bowl of rice noodles after playing badminton nearby—it’s very satisfying and relaxing.“

“This restaurant had been around for quite a while and I still visit here once in a while. Food quality is always consistent. I like the flavor for the spicier dishes but it may not be everyone since it offers authentic Chinese spiciness. Parking at Time square is plenty but will get messy starting from lunch time. Staff is friendly and I had ordered both takeout and dine in here before.“

“Overall, my experience was just okay.
The environment was pleasant and clean, and the general flavor of the dishes was acceptable. No major complaints on the ambiance or basic taste.
However, the main issue was the freshness of the food. The meat did not seem as fresh as I would have liked, and some of the cold dishes also tasted like they had been sitting out for a while. This significantly detracted from the meal's quality.
If the kitchen can address the freshness of their ingredients, particularly the meat and cold appetizers, this restaurant would definitely earn a higher rating.
Would you like me to make any adjustments to this review before you post it?“

“This restaurant is over 20 years old and is now a self service restaurant. You place your order at the counter, get your own tea or hot water, pick up your food, and place your tray back on the rack when you are done.
Everything is now served using plastic or disposable containers and chopsticks. Food is still decent and I would recommend if you are looking for a quick meal.
However, it seems like they don't expect tips anymore.“

“Writing this review while drinking their soup.
I'm so grateful to have a good soup store near my house. I always get soups here when I'm sick or when I simply want something nourish.
The soups are very comforting. The owners are always nice and welcoming. Will keep coming back to support them!“

“Small hole in the wall restaurant that's run by the cutest Asian couple! The food really hits the spot, but be patience as they take take to make you a hot comforting meal.
It's mainly a takeout place with some tables, but it's not a full service restaurant.
I look forward to trying more dishes! Overall great food and prices, if you order in person you'll need to wait a bit.
I give them 8/10!“

“Definitely one of my favorite restaurants in Canada. There's always a fresh catch of the day of delicious seafood 🤤 Honestly, I've been to hundreds if not thousands of restaurants and there isn't a single item off the menu that me and my guests have not enjoyed. Anna is super hospitality and treat us like family 💗 Highly recommend if you haven't given it a try already“

“This is the first time I came to this location after 3 years because parking here is always hectic
However, I loved the food n service here
Dim sum are $5.50 each small medium large, with our vip card, free tea and also 10 percent off total bill
Will come more often but better to carpool 😆
We came here again today March 17 for dim sum, a group of 9
Food was delicious and service was attentive, all the staff were courteous and checked on us quite often
Surprisingly we found a parking spot right in front of the restaurant at 1pm
😄
We came here again june 18, group of 3, food was still good but prices have gone up a little which is not a big deal
But customer service is bad, my company both went to washroom n I asked for the bill, the waitress put the bill at the far corner on the table ( we were seated in a bigger table for 5 or 6 people, we were a party of 3), so i asked another waitress to pass me the bill tray, she rolled her eyes n looked very impatie!!nt
Its common courtesy to give the bill to the one who asked for the bill n especially when I was the only person at the table. They expected me to walk around the table to get the bill? 12 percent compulsory tips was added to the bill otherwise, i would definitely not give 12 percent
Bad service!!“

“Hidden in a mall that’s almost abandoned, and this kitchen feels like the only thing that is attracting customers. Fast, reasonable priced, and tasty Chinese fast food. Portions are huge too. Busy on weekend nights. Recommend to call ahead before pick up.“

“Again, another place we will go for dinner. Authentic Cantonese cuisine. The honey glazed oysters is one of my favorite. One thing about this restaurant is the owner will made special dessert (black sesame soup) every Wednesday and Firday. For anyone who likes Black Sesame soup, it is a must try and it is complimentary too.“

“Egg drop soup 5/5 very rich broth taste and fresh veggies
Taos general chicken 5/5 very good but could be a little bit more juicy
Chicken fried rice 5/5
Steamed dumplings 3/5, weird filling, and they all got stuck to each other
Egg roll is 4/5 just not a big fun of the dish, but it was flavorful
Service is top notch! The owner is a very lovely chinese lady, the cooking area looks very clean too, everything is in order.
Overall it’s a very good local spot for chinese craving, will come back for sure.“

“My go-to spot for authentic Cantonese dishes. Portions are generous, pricing is fair, and the food doesn’t have that heavy MSG taste you get at other places — I never feel overly thirsty after eating here. The place is consistently packed, especially on weekends, which tells you everything you need to know about its quality.“

“To be honest, the food is great and I’ve already been there three times. But on my last visit, one of the staff kept pushing me to order the crispy chicken. I told her I don’t like chicken and just wanted something else, but she became quite rude and remained impolite throughout the entire dinner. I’m not sure why she acted that way, but because of that experience, I won’t be going back.“

“No-frills traditional Chinese eatery that focuses on the food (ie: interiors and service are mid). Homestyle flavours with prices that just can't be beat. They open late-night which is perfect for shift workers and night owls. Anything you get will be good here!“

“Nine of my friends and I recently visited Mr. Congee. Overall, we had a good experience, and all of my friends were happy with their meals. I am vegan, and the options for me were quite limited, but I managed. One of my friends is gluten intolerant, and unfortunately she could only have a small portion of steamed vegetables. It would be wonderful if you could consider adding more clearly labeled vegan and gluten-free dishes to the menu. The staff who served us — Yao, Michelle, and Jason — were very kind, polite, and attentive. We truly appreciated their service. The only thing that bothered me was seeing live crabs in the tank near the entrance. For animal advocates, this can be quite disturbing.“

“Had breakfast there… there were a variety of choices, and prices were decent. Service is like your typical Chinese restaurant, straightforward, not much manners, dont expect any chit chat. As for Ambience, tables were inches away from each other. Seating were tight and just like you were in HKG, you almost feel like you’re sharing the table next to you. Almost. But overall, the food was still the main point and it was good food. Loved the scrambled eggs, and loved that they have HKG style street rice rolls (街邊腸粉) as a choice“

“The Big Casserole (一品猪肚鸡煲仔饭) in Richmond Hill is a fantastic place for anyone who enjoys authentic Chinese comfort food. The restaurant has a warm and lively atmosphere, and it’s clear that it’s very popular with the local community. When you walk in, the smell of freshly cooked casseroles and traditional dishes immediately makes you feel hungry.
One of the highlights of this restaurant is their clay pot rice and casserole dishes. The flavors are rich and comforting, and the ingredients taste fresh and well prepared. The rice is cooked perfectly in the clay pot, giving it a nice texture and a slightly crispy layer at the bottom, which many people love. The meat and vegetables are also well seasoned, creating a balanced and satisfying dish.
Another dish that many people come for is the pork tripe chicken soup, which is both flavorful and nourishing. The broth is rich and aromatic, and the combination of ingredients creates a comforting taste that feels very authentic. It’s especially enjoyable during colder weather.
The portion sizes are generous, making it great for sharing with friends or family. The menu also offers a good variety of traditional Cantonese-style dishes, so there are plenty of options to choose from depending on your preferences.
The restaurant environment is clean, bright, and welcoming. Even when it gets busy, the staff work efficiently and keep things moving smoothly. The service is friendly and attentive, and the staff are happy to help explain menu items if you are trying something new.
Another great thing about this place is the value for money. Considering the quality of the food and the portion sizes, the prices are very reasonable.
Overall, The Big Casserole is an excellent restaurant for authentic Chinese clay pot dishes and comforting traditional flavors. It’s definitely worth visiting if you’re in the Richmond Hill area.“

“Food quality & taste use to be good earlier now recently its gone down. Chilli chicken had big pcs, less gravy. Manchurian veg pakora style also doesn’t taste like it use to be. Soggy & less gravy. We ordered Singapore noodles for first time hoping it will be better then their hakka noodles but it was so terrible in taste! As if we are eating noodle in turmeric sauce - very few veggies & TONS of turmeric!
Not sure if they change their cook or what. It use to be so tasty now its just the opposite!“

“Overall simple to the point, Chinese takeout. Portion size was good in the all in one combo. Lots of noodles and chicken and vegetables. Noodles were a bit under seasoned and the chicken was mostly sweet but that’s kind of the experience I want/crave with simple Chinese takeout. I’ll be back.“

“This is a very casual, low-key place, perfect for lunch! I tried their braised pork belly with preserved mustard green on rice and sea coconut partridge soup. Both outstanding! Hot and flavourful! They also have a new Thai menu. I will definitely go back to try their Singapore hainanese chicken on rice. They take credit cards. Plenty of parking!“

“The Big Trio is my go-to place for wonton noodle twice a week. Their beef tripe is also very tasty and tender. However the combinarion of wonton and tripe is the best. Add a bit of chilli oil...oh my.... my stomach thanks me for it. I think i am addicted to it. ;)“

“First time eating here. Had the Coconut Curry Rice Noodle Soup which I thought was amazing. Perfectly spiced and boiling hot (watch out. Takes a while to cool). Had the deep fried tofu as an appetizer. Love the clean design aesthetic. Service is not overly warm but it's efficient. I would recommend and will dine there again.“
“We hosted a small wedding event last Sunday at Zunyan Restaurant in Richmond Hill, with a good experience.
Manager Yan is a nice, patient lady. She was helpful and attentive to the details of our wedding banquet planning.
The room is clean, quiet, organized, modern, spacious, with good surrounding sound system, entertainment device, sound proof walls and en-suite bathroom.
The food quality exceeded our expectations as compared to some of the previous reviews. The food is unique with fusion style options, seafood is fresh and delicious. The server, Elyn is nice. She was helpful, attentive to our requests.
Overall, we are very pleased with our choice of this venue for the wedding event.“

“Always a great spot for lunch and economical. Every time I go, there is a constant stream of people that come in for both dining and takeout. It is a family runned restaurant with limited staff, so the service is quite slow when it’s busy.
The food is always hot and tasty. The lunch specials are $8.75 or $9.75 and from 11am to 5pm everyday. It’s a great value!
I have also included another picture of what other dishes are available at this restaurant, but I don’t have pricing for those.“

“It was strange, the dishes I ordered (spaghetti bolognese and iced lemon tea) were really delicious, but my bf got Portuguese chicken and iced ying yuen and he said they both tasted weird/not normal. The Portuguese chicken contained pineapple which was unexpected, and he said the ying yuen just didn't taste that good compared to what he's had before. I agree that there really shouldn't be pineapple in Portuguese chicken, but I can't confirm whether it tasted bad or not; I guess if you love pineapple you might enjoy it. They also give a starter soup, and we were given the corn soup, and that was super yummy. Overall it was an average experience for an HK cafe, and depending on what you get it can be a hit or miss.“

“Unapologetically Shang Hai food, very authentic but man, the service could be better and the restaurant itself is far too small for the amount of guests. Still, good food deserves a 5/5. Try the xiaolongbao, hong shao rou. Prices are high but quality is good, expect to spend upwards of $50-$70 per person.“

“Dim sum is pretty much the same everywhere. Shrimp dumplings (Har Gow), Shumai, same. But I did like the fried spring rolls with cilantro in it. And the fried taro balls with meat. But mostly, it's rare to find dim sum deals anymore. $5 for X M L, BEFORE 11. Ideally cash only.“

“Oh my goodness. I am writing a review immediately after ordering take-out from this restaurant. We moved recently into the area but were going to order from a place further away, that was tried and true. But, then there was a snow storm and no way did I want to drive so far in this weather. We took a chance on Mister Moon’s and I am so glad we did. I wanted to try all of our favourite dishes, even though it was way more food than we could eat in one sitting. But we are very picky about dishes. The chicken balls have to have big chunks of chicken with just a nice coating of batter. The lo mein needs to be free of any veggies, but still have flavour. And the beef and broccoli, juicy beef but crispy broccoli. Oh. And this place had two kinds of wontons. So, my review? So darn good!!! We actually received sweet and sour chicken, instead of sweet and sour chicken balls. So when I called, our incorrect item was rectified immediately. We were given two orders of the chicken balls (even though I promised one would suffice), but the restaurant insisted. Crazy thing though, we all loved the sweet and sour chicken as well. But. It’s the chicken balls that can make or break our opinion, and that’s why I really wanted to try them.
I cannot say enough good things about the food and the service. We will definitely be repeat customers. I’m stuffed, and very satisfied. Thank you so much for such a great experience!!“

“This BBQ place is pretty good and loads up your container full. The flavours are spot on for what you'd expect for a classic Chinese BBQ place. The seating is minimal so be prepared to eat it in the car if you're not going straight home. Very delicious meats!“

“Great new Chinese restaurant and apparently with a well-experienced chef!
Reservations are HIGHLY recommended.
Their special steam soups are also pre-order only.
Great quality food, environment is okay, a bit stuffy but staff are very friendly and polite. They seem a bit understaffed though so it's tough for them to handle so many tables along with walk-ins.
Loved the pre-ordered soup, pig intestine was good, $10 鮑魚扣鵝掌 (
Supposed to be 海參 but they ran out so substitute with abalone) was a good deal. Mushrooms were big and juicy.
Chili oil was fragrant and good level of spice.
Will definitely return to try their other dishes.“

“If you want a place with authentic and delicious Chinese food, this is the place to go. But if you are looking for a place with great service, this is not the best place to go. We ordered the beef congee, the shrimp noodle rap, and the beef brisket noodle. The beef brisket noodle was very delicious and a little bit spicy. The brisket was soft and the broth was good. I liked this place and will probably come back.“

“The friendliest people ever, from the lovely ladies up from taking orders - so easily to be engaged and could completely understanding. “The restaurant has been renovated a while ago, the interior is quite spacious and clean. The menu has a lot of dishes to choose from. It not only has typical things from HK cafe, but also has dishes like a HK seafood restaurant. The price is very reasonable as well. The quality of the food is above average. Everything we ordered was pretty good, no complaint. The only thing is their service. Well, there is a lady very rude and not paying attention. I hope it is just this individual waitress. We hope to go back more often to try on their other items on the menu.“
