“I have been to the Downtown Chinatown location and now trying this Markham location. It's not easy to find a table here at the Markham location as it's constantly have so many people waiting and I don't want to lineup, so it took this long for me to dine here at the Markham location.

The food menu is pretty much the same as the Downtown Chinatown location.

This location is spacious, quite a number of tables and seating area. Modern, clean and brightly lit throughout the entire resto. Nice animated graphics on the walls.

We ordered pork intestines soup glass noodles and little dragon steam dumplings (xi lung bao) - 6 pieces in a steamy hot basket.

Little Dragon Dumplings:
- steamy hot
- juicy, good pork juice explode in your mouth

Pork Intestines Glass Noodles:
- good portion
- spicy
- no weird smell in the pork intestines, which are major bonus (quite a good amount of pork intestines).

If you can't eat spicy, you can ask for less spicy. Unfortunately, I asked if it could be mild, the staff said no, you can only ask for less spicy but it's can't be mild.

I wish they have more soup noodles variety as many soup noodles options consist of beef (which my parents don't eat beef).

Anyhow, food and service are great here. Staff constantly come over to ask if you need anything, they clean up the plate often, we asked for take-out box with no questions asked.

They accept credit card, which is a major plus.

I now understand why it's so popular coz it serves authentic Chinese food with good portion, and amazing pricing. I think their prices are so attractive, way cheaper than many other restaurants.

Soup Noodles at $9.99 CDN + tax, steam dumplings at $5.99 CDN, Cold appetizer ranges from $3.99 to $4.99 CDN and pan fried scallion pancake at $2.99 CDN, unheard of pricing in Toronto!

“We came here with my toddler and immediately the server brought out plastic bowl, scissors and plastic spoon and fork. I love when servers know exactly how to cater to their customers. The 2 person combo was so much food at such a good price it came with 2 bowls of noodles, skewers, 2 pops and an appetizer for $34.99. They don’t skimp on the portions. Food arrived hot and tasty. “Although the restaurant is small, it feels very warm and cozy. The rice noodles taste great, and the soup is rich and flavorful. They also offer some Yunnan snacks, such as beef pancakes, which I order every time. I often come here for a bowl of rice noodles after playing badminton nearby—it’s very satisfying and relaxing.“

She always greets us at the door and remembers every tiny details. Moving the chairs so we can sit same side, provides us extra chili powder (highly recommend to sprinkle this on every piece of meat), “everything the same?” after we place our order and our excitement for the complimentary marshmallows at the end. Deborah goes above and beyond for this location. Shoutout to her for always carrying the whole restaurant on her back.“

“Been coming for years and only now writing a review (I’m sorry). It’s just such a great mainstay of comfort dishes. Regular orders include shredded pork with coriander and chili (732, get with a hot bowl of rice!) and onion pancake roll w sliced beef (120, gives Peking duck vibes). “This is my go-to joint for when I am craving Chinese food. Food is always fresh and flavorful. Always ready within minutes of ordering. Love their har gow, thai vermicelli chicken, beef flat rice noodles, spicy chicken, mango chicken, fried rice and spring/egg rolls. Also the owner is super sweet and packs chili oil for me every time, as she knows I love it with my food. :)“

“Came to Starchiva Cuisine (星芝華私廚) for a family lunch and had an enjoyable experience.

The restaurant offers an interesting menu, comprising of some authentic, traditional, and hard-to-find Cantonese gems made the dish selection an interesting, fun, and challenging process.

The space was comfortable even for a relatively large group, with well-spaced tables that made the meal feel relaxed and unhurried. Service was polite and attentive throughout.

Starchiva’s dim sum selection was delicious and well balanced, never overly oily or salty. The rice hand rolls, or cheung fun (手拉腸粉), were lightly rolled and delicately wrapped with just the right amount of condiments.

The standout dessert was the brown sugar honeycomb cake (黑糖蜂巢糕)—light, airy, chewy, and honeycomb-like texture, and paired especially well with the rich, smooth Hong Kong milk tea/stocking milk-tea (港式奶茶) taking one to Hong Kong Cha Chaan Teng (cafes).

Overall, a pleasant dinning spot for family or group gatherings, offering well-prepared/presented food, clean and comfortable seating, and attentive service.“

“I’ve been coming to this family owned Mala Town for over 4 years now, and the quality has been consistently amazing every single time. The food is always incredibly flavorful, fresh, and perfectly cooked. You can truly taste the care and attention they put into every dish.

“The best dumplings I have ever had in Toronto for ten years! I was so impressed by the flavour and chewy thin wrap! It is not salty like other restaurants. The stuffing seems pretty good without artificial ingredients like MSG etc! I was very very happy with it! The size is big too! Please keep as it is. Don’t change anything or lower the quality, shrink the size like other restaurants!!! Definitely will go back again and again!“
