“Ordered a dinner combo and a hot and sour soup. The combo had an egg roll, general tso chicken, sweet and sour chicken and chicken fried rice. 17 bucks for the combo 6 bucks for the soup. Portions were good ( did not finish the chicken or rice), soup was good overall food was fresh and hot. Wait time was under 10 minutes. Worth the price imo. It's westernized Chinese food which has alot of sugary sauces so diabetics beware lol. Place was clean and bright. Would go back again.“

“Went about an hour before closing. The food was still very fresh (I have to mention because one place will ruin it for you with stale food close to closing). The service was amazing. The gentlemen offered me green beans along with my mixed vegetables. The entire meal came to $13.00. I was overall extremely pleased with the food, flavours are always the same and ans expected and service was refreshing. I love Manchuwok! who hasn’t been eating here for decades now, because I have.

“Good Hakka dining experience, but not perfect. The food, although full of flavour, is overly salted. The chili chicken was cooked and seasoned well. The hot and sour soup was tasty. The crispy noodles were a bit over cooked and tasted bland. I'd recommend sticking with the regular chow mein. The service was good, but order taker didn't know much about the dishes. Manager/owner is very friendly and knowledgeable. Prices are a bit high but the food was worth it. Highly recommend.“

“The best Chinese food in Durham by far.Their food is delicious (black pepper chicken is now my new favourite) and they really fill the containers! The prices are great for the amount and quality of food you get. Most importantly the staff have always been amazing. I’ve been ordering for over 5 years and they go above and beyond to make their customers happy (they include lots of pepper every time that I ask, they’ve rushed to make an order right after opening so I could get it to deliver it for lunch, their delivery times are always a few minutes early, etc.) this definitely is a local small business whose deserves five stars and support! “We ordered various dishes off the menu for pick up at 6 and the food was ready right on time,exactly as ordered , hot and delicious. We live nearby so picked it up and paid cash as you get a free menu item over a certain amount if you do this. “Hong Food has been one of the best finds ever! I tried their food for the first time a few weeks ago and kept going back. By now I've tried most of the items and I gotta say, they're all consistently good!

The lady running the store is also super sweet and never skimps on the portions! Considering the abysmal prices of food in 2024, Hong Food is very much reasonable and a wayyy better bang for your buck compared to the average fast food place.

If you're going by the Malvern mall and wanna eat, my go to would be the medium combo with the spicy rice, hakka beef, manchurian chicken and fried chicken. Grab a medium soda from the circle K on the other side and you get a banger meal for about 10 dollars including taxes!“

“Had a big family meal for 10+ people recently. Even though we live a few towns away we had to go to House of Wong! We got about 10 dishes and they were all good to excellent. They even gave us an extra dish for free as we ordered so much.

We preordered on the phone which was actually easy, there were no confusions or interruptions and there were no mistakes made on the order which was very shocking for how much we got.

We enjoyed everything. Personally I wasn’t huge on the Lo Mein, it was fine and some were fine with it but I’d prefer more flavour with the noodles. The Lemon Chicken was good but there was a lot of batter, some parts were so much thicker than the chicken and some parts the chicken escaped and dried out a lot. Not a huge deal.

General Tao, Sesame and Pepper Beef were excellent, even the next day. Fried Rice was excellent too. I must say I’m always used to getting one piece of sketchy chicken in my Gen Tao/Sesame Chicken but I got no weird pieces in anything.

Definitely worth the trip over other local places for sure!“
