About Jim Chai Kee Noodles

Jim Chai Kee Noodles is a bustling eatery where customers order their food cafeteria-style. The menu features a variety of dishes priced at $12, including the authentic shrimp wontons that offer real Hong Kong taste. Customers grab a table first, then place their order at the counter in the back left, pay in cash, and wait for their name to be called. The food is served in disposable containers, and customers can ask for a cover and bag to take leftover food if needed. The Richmond Hill location is self-serve, unlike the Scarborough one. Parking can be challenging, especially on weekends, and wheelchair accessibility is limited.

The restaurant is known for its delicious signature egg noodles and fast service, which keep customers coming back for more. The portions are huge and affordable, with many dishes consistently satisfying. The shrimp wontons are praised as some of the best, being filled with whole shrimp and cooked just right. The beef slices are tender and soft, while the fish balls are enormous, though some find them slightly fishy. The chili oil is a highlight, with one customer noting that it "absolutely slaps." The owners are friendly, and the restaurant is clean, providing complimentary hot water. While some customers mention the atmosphere feels rushed and the takeout containers take away from the dining experience, Jim Chai Kee Noodles remains a must-visit spot for noodle lovers and a fixture of the Richmond Hill Chinese food scene.

Just 5 stars

it is a semi self surface timing

You come here for the shrimp wontons & noodle. I like the dry version (soup in separate bowl). Love the chili oil. It actually has some spice to it. Everything is self-serve and now only comes in disposables. Noodles and soups come in either waxed carton bowls or plastic containers. Hoisin sauce for noodles is provided on the top of a plastic container lid. Lol.
