“Been visiting covernotes for nearly a decade now, and always have a good experience. The charm, beverages, and combination coffee shop and bookstore is a unique concept but should be a no-brainer. Happy to have this in Richmond Hill. Drinks are average priced but are hand crafted with quality, which means they take a bit longer than average to be ready for pickup. They give you these buzzers which vibrate once your order is ready (that's clearly a new thing which they didn't have at my last visit).Table we sat at was a high table near their exit door. Table was quite wobbly which made sitting high up with beverages a little precarious. I would recommend getting that table fixed (as well as the chair upholstery which was falling apart). One thing I have noticed, however, is this place is always cold - especially if you're sitting by the windows or exit door. I don't see them installing heaters or upgrading their insulation anytime soon, so make sure to wear comfy, warm clothing in the winter time while you're working or hanging out so you don't feel the chill.Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair ramp, although may be difficult without someone to push. “Bayview Wok is a nice find that we stumbled upon while looking for a quick HK bite nearby. They have a terrific $9.50 lunch deal that we took advantage of even on weekend.The staff here was so courteous and welcoming, and recommended the dishes for us, the beef ho-fun and braised eggplant w/ meat & rice. The dishes had a nice wok fire flavour and came in huge portions along with soup. The flavours were slightly bland but touched up with soy sauce. The value was unbeatable in this inflationary time.We were even able to dine in at one of their 3 tables, and received cutlery. We noticed a steady flow of guests pop in mostly for takeout orders. Seems locals know this for affordable takeout.“
“Wanted to visit the new claw machine place in the plaza but realize it is not open until 1 so we decide to pick Kung Fu out of the many bubble tea places here to sit and chill because it seems to offer the most comfortable seating.Staff advised us that drinks are all on the sweeter side so we ordered 50% sugar, normal ice whenever possible/available.I enjoyed my light fruit tea but my older one said the brown sugar milk can be more favourable (I would pick milk tea personally … but the teen picked milk).There is a selfie station available if you are into that.“

Both were so good! “We had Charlie's 5th birthday party here and it was a hit amongst guests and doggy participants. When you book for a 2h time slot, you are able to use the space for the party and can rearrange the tables how you like them. We were able to bring outside food in for human guests and we started a tab at the cafe bar for our guests. Other customers were able to come in and get something however were not allowed to stay inside while the party was going on which was nice. I think the price was reasonable and we were given an hour to set up before the party started. There was a bit of a hiccup on opening and setting up however the owners were super nice and accommodating. At the end of the day I was super thrilled with the result however hosting a dog party with more than 10 dogs is definitely overwhelming. Highly recommend. 10 pup cups included and a bag of treats!“

“Located by the condos, Forest Cafe is a busy local cafe that is not only a great place to chill, but to also grab some bites and drinks. The difficult part about visiting, is probably finding road side parking on the weekends as it's usually full. We came on Sat around 2:30pm, and it was quite full inside. The food menu consists of simple sandwiches, croffles and snacks on display. We opted to try the Beef Sausage Sandwich, Chocolate Croffle, Brownie and Dalgona Coffee Latte. The sandwich was quite tasty - a toasted croissant sandwich with a big piece of beef sausage, wrapped with tomatoes and lettuce. Nothing special, but was satisfying enough to be my brunch meal. The croffle was very tasty, and inside was filled with Nutella - one of my favourites! The fudge brownie was also a hit, it wasn't too sweet, but had big chocolate chunks filled inside. My only complaint was that I wish it was bigger haha. The Dalgona Coffee Latte was also a great drink to complement what we ordered. We got the cold and hot, and personally I liked the hot just because cold drinks usually comes with ice, which would dilute the drink a little bit. “Came for ayce lunch on a Saturday, impressed by the amount of options for rolls, they had allot of specialty rolls. I liked the crab mixture they had for their crab pizza and rolls as well, no fillers just crab and spicy mayo. Cheese wontons were also good. Overall would come back as the price was good for the selection. Prices have really gone up around the area of Newmarket and Aurora for ayce sushi but for here is still a decent price. Also need to note, service was great, would come back.“

“Their Canadian Uni is simply the best and tasted very sweet. The Botan Ebi Shrimp there are very fresh as well. The Maki Rolls are also amazing. Spicy Chopped Scallop Sushi is always my favourite while in Canada. What they have is great but could have less mayo in it and it is a little too spicy for me and my wife. Overall it’s highly recommended. Well done Chef!“
