Totally understand why friends always mention this place with some of them being regulars.

The barista was very helpful with providing suggestions of beans based on the information I gave about my husband's preferences. Also provided additional tips after I picked a coupl of bags as to which to drink first or rest.

“Definitely my favourite coffee roaster. I drink my coffee black and Social coffee beans have the exact flavours that I love. My favourites are the light roasted Ethiopian varieties but lately I have also really enjoyed the espresso roasts from Costa Rica and Papua New Guinea. I highly recommend their coffee.“

“Went to Gate Cafe to get some work done and was pleased to find plenty of seating with nearby outlets. While I was there, I had to try their Brisket Poutine, which was $20.

The poutine is definitely big enough to share, making it a great value. The brisket was tender and flavourful. What really stands out is how generous they are with the gravy and sauce—it's incredibly rich and savoury. My one piece of advice is to not mix everything all at once. The sauces are so abundant that it can quickly make the fries soggy, so it's best to enjoy it in smaller, well-portioned bites.

Overall, the poutine was a fantastic treat. Paired with the fast and friendly staff, my experience at Gate Cafe was a productive and delicious one.“

I love the oat fudge bars, vanilla cakes/cupcakes, chocolate cakes/cupcakes, custom cakes, both types of quiche, the scones, brownies, spiced chocolate bar, lattes, drip coffee, cookies...geeze I guess I go there a lot. I haven't even tried everything in the bakery yet. It is a wonderful for breakfast, midday treat and dessert after dinner. I stock up on Sunday to have enough to last me until Thursday morning when the bakery reopens for the week. I am having a very hard time sticking to just one item a day. It is great for school lunch treats because it is a nut free bakery. This is important for school staff and students.“

We have tried so many egg tarts, this place is rated highly. When we arrived, we waited 10 minutes for fresh egg tarts and it was worth it. The egg is silky, smooth and reminds me of my childhood. The crust is flaky and dense at the same time. Running strong in our books. I also got the red bean and salted egg yolk. Delicious.“

“I came in to this location the morning of Aug 22 around 6:30. In all honesty I’ve stopped buying coffee from Tim’s because no one seems to make it right. This morning I was pleasantly surprised when at the last moment I decided to try again. Whoever was at the front counter, I didn’t catch her name, made me the best coffee I’ve had in a long time. “I have been a daily patron of this starbucks for about 15yrs..what keeps me coming back, more than just the coffee...the staff...there is no greater feeling in the morning or afternoon to be served with a fresh brew with absolute smiles and kindness...the guys/girls at this location are just so friendly and will chat with you; more than just serving you your coffee. Gloria and Samantha are such sweet hearts, they see me coming and will start my brew before I get there...godbless these guys. Mall I don't miss going to Bath and Body Works and buy foaming hand soap, wallflower home fragrance refill (my favorite fragrances are ? lemon cello and eucalyptus mint). I love also their wallflower seasonal designs... for gift giving.... also the body lotion and body spray.“

“The Ruelo mousse cake is very good. Texture is perfect and flavour combination is pleasant. We sprinkled some gold dust on top to make it more interesting. We did not dine in, but the store looks pretty cute and we wouldn’t mind stopping by for coffee and dessert next time. Looking forward to getting more birthday cakes from this shop.“
