“I just had a Kobideh with rice. Unbelievable! The meal was so hearty and delicious. They served 2 skewers with a generous amount of rice. In these inflationary times, when many restaurants are reducing their portions and especially protein they served this big meal for on $11.99 and the guy had an amazing smile serving it. It is definitely a hidden gem. Let's support these guys so they can open up a bigger dining place. I would absolutely be trying other meal combos when I am around again.

“This place never disappoints. Roger has been the chef here for eons, even before he bought the place. This wonderful old diner has been around since the early 50's.

The fare is simple and honest. Don't expect haute cuisine. What you can expect is great service, good prices and honest working person's food.

I tried the grilled chicken club on rye and could not finish it. Very tasty. My partner had her usual Con Beef Hash with scrambled eggs and rye toast.

“I’m a regular, and the food is great here, honestly I don’t understand how it’s almost always empty. I usually come here after work at around 9pm and the place is always clean, the people that work there are very nice and welcoming, and the food is consistently delicious. The only slight complaint I would have is the time it takes for an order to come, usually it takes around 10mins for the food to be finished, but again, just a small *barely* an Inconvenience, and I would definitely recommend coming here ethier way.“

“Been going to Goldsor restaurant for over ten years, the food is good, the portion is reasonable and the price is reasonable too! However, I ordered takeout three times past month, and the milk tea was only half the size of the cup (your cup already the smallest one). The first time, I thought it was milk tea just gone, but I didn't expect it to be the same for the next two times. A little disappointed, but I still recommend this shop, however, hope not to lose old customers because just save a little on that.“

The six piece box with wedges and two biscuits is pretty good, quite filling for two to three people. I also ordered poutine, you can switch it to poutine fries instead of wedges. Pop area is clean no fruit flies like others I have been to. Ordered my double quarter pounder BLT. Had nice fresh tomato and lettuce.

One thing that immediately stood out was the impressive selection of flavours. The menu at Chung Chun Rice Hotdog has something for just about every taste. They offer a range of fillings and toppings, and you can pick from both savoury and sweet options. The cheese pull from the mozzarella was definitely Instagram-worthy. If you’re someone who loves a savoury, cheesy treat, this place will certainly hit the spot. They also have options that cater to those who like something sweet – adding sugar dusting or choosing fillings like custard or even sweet potato gives a different kind of satisfaction if you’re more of a dessert person.

The service here was decent. While I wouldn’t say it was outstanding, the staff was polite and efficient, and they kept the line moving, which I appreciated. Chung Chun can get quite busy, especially during weekends when the mall is packed, and you might find yourself waiting a bit. Thankfully, the wait wasn’t too long, and you can see the staff making each hotdog fresh to order, which explains the extra time.

As for the price, I’d say it’s pretty fair for what you’re getting. Each hotdog runs you around $7 to $10, depending on the type and hotdog you get. Given the quality and the fact that they’re made fresh to order, I found the pricing to be reasonable. They’re quite filling too, so even though it’s technically a snack, it’s substantial enough to tide you over for a while. Compared to other mall food court options, it’s a nice change of pace if you’re tired of the usual fast-food joints and want to try something a little different.

Overall, I’d give Chung Chun Rice Hotdog Hillcrest a solid four stars. It’s not perfect, but it’s a fun, different snack that’s well-executed, with plenty of flavours to choose from. The service was decent, and the quality of the hotdogs themselves was pretty impressive. If you find yourself at Hillcrest Mall and want something tasty and a little out of the ordinary, I’d definitely recommend giving it a try.

“This location is the best New York fries I have ever tried!! The staff is amazing and so kind! I always ordered one layered poutine and they make it taste like I’m trying poutine for the first time again! No matter who I get to make my poutine they make it wonderful and they’re so kind! They allow me to take my time and don’t rush me into ordering like other locations do. I’m so happy this location isn’t that far from me!“

“Food is pretty standard fast food and atmosphere is nothing special. This review is solely to complement on the service.

My uncle sent me to Harvey’s so that I could get some food and he gave me his card to pay. However, the card didn’t process the payment. I had to go back to my car to get my wallet so that I could cover the payment, the entire time, they were incredibly patient and understanding.

“I come here every so often, and I always order the cheese tteokbokki, occasionally something else, but other than that I always eat tteokbokki. As far as I'm concerned, it doesn't really get better than this ( I haven't been to Korea, so I can't really compare ). It tastes good. The right ratio of spice to actual flavor. Although the number rice cakes could be more, it's just enough to fill you up. The staff is super friendly, some of the best.
