“We visited Bready Vaughan location today. It was very busy as usual. The pastries look amazing. I had a coffee and croissant. Our server and cash attendant Kion was suggesting different items we should try and was extremely helpful and very friendly. My husband had a Pragel which was unbelievably delicious. We usually get the Jerusalem bagels which are equally delicious but unfortunately they were out. Love this place!“

Right after buying my milk tea, I accidentally dropped the entire cup on the ground while walking toward the door. I was pretty disappointed and thought I would just go back and buy another one. But after the staff member understood what happened, she immediately said, “It’s okay, I’ll make you a new one.”
Honestly, I was really touched at that moment.
It wasn’t because I saved the cost of another drink, but because I felt genuinely understood and cared for. A great business is not only about the quality of its products, but also about the warmth and kindness behind its service. Instead of trying to sell me another cup, she chose to make up for the disappointment I felt after accidentally dropping my drink.
That kind of service truly makes customers feel comfortable and appreciated, and it definitely makes me want to keep coming back.

“I've been to Yu Seafood Yorkdale several times. An upscaled restaurant near all the high-end retailers. I bought my nephew here during his business trip and everything is good, and the bill was paid without going through the details. Not until I got home and found out one of the dishes was missed out from the dinner set for six. I called the restaurant the next day and the general manager Neilson responded promptly. It could be a human error and promised to compensate on my next visit. Having said that Yu is a great place to enjoy dinner or lunch despite of the mistake they have made on my last visit.“

“It’s a fine time to get in the mood for brunch at noon on Canada Day. Lesser folk may say you have no chance of sitting down anywhere proper within the hour, and smarter folk will have planned ahead days ago.

But there I was, and with one call to this place, the lovely hostess added me to the waitlist for 1 p.m. and said we were good to come then! It felt like a stroke of luck, which I chalked up to the later hour and the very hot weather.

We were seated right away with our table held, and the first thing we ordered, naturally, was mimosas.

I’m not sure if the air conditioning, fans, or exhaust system wasn't working that day, but it wasn’t much cooler inside than outside, which made it a bit uncomfortable. There were a lot of people as well. An icy mimosa helped quench my thirst.

Clearly a very lively and well-frequented joint, we perused the menu and I decided on the Merguez shakshuka. We also got the Farmer’s Breakfast. I highly recommend any of the shakshuka on the menu, as that is clearly their specialty!

Mine arrived piping hot, and the bread was very good. The yolks were perfectly runny, and I liked the nuttiness the labneh had; it was quite satisfying. The Farmer’s Breakfast left a little to be desired, as the scrambled eggs were overdone.

I would definitely return to try more of the menu, as this place offers a lot, not just breakfast.“

We tried the chocolate, lime trio, and yogurt sage & lemon soft serves, and every single one was incredible. The chocolate was rich and decadent, while the lime trio and yogurt sage & lemon were bright, refreshing, and packed with real flavour.

But the absolute star of the show was the pistachio gelato bar. Oh. My. Gosh. It was hands down one of the best gelato treats I’ve ever had. The pistachio flavour was intense, creamy, and perfectly balanced—not overly sweet, just pure pistachio goodness in every bite.

I stock up on Sunday to have enough to last me until Thursday morning when the bakery reopens for the week. I am having a very hard time sticking to just one item a day. It is great for school lunch treats because it is a nut free bakery. This is important for school staff and students.“

I love their assorted platters for parties - it' always a crowd favourite especially for kids. The portions are generous and the flavours are so delicious. My favourites are the aburi shrimp oishi and aburi salmon nambulite.
