“We love this sushi spot! Every order is fresh, beautifully packaged, and you can really taste the care and passion in every bite. We order here often—as you can see from the collection of photos I’ve amassed—and I can honestly say they’ve been consistent every single time. Their wasabi is made fresh, just like their sushi.

Our daughter has been eating sashimi since she was two, and I’ve never had any concerns about the quality of the fish from this place. Her absolute favorite is the salmon ikura don, and she also loves the little octopus in one of the Inari pockets. We order so often that they even know our usual takeout (D2 and S5, with the occasional Inari Gunkan), and they recognize it instantly when my husband calls in. We’ve dined in a couple of times as well, and the staff are so friendly and warm that we felt right at home.

After a long week, it’s our go-to Friday treat. It’s always a joy to bring their sushi home, and it feels like a little bit of love is packed into every box.“

In terms of spice, you can change the broth to suit your level of tolerance. After leaving the restaurant I did not feel full or have that heavy feeling with my stomach. “I've been to Yu Seafood Yorkdale several times. An upscaled restaurant near all the high-end retailers. I bought my nephew here during his business trip and everything is good, and the bill was paid without going through the details. Not until I got home and found out one of the dishes was missed out from the dinner set for six. I called the restaurant the next day and the general manager Neilson responded promptly. It could be a human error and promised to compensate on my next visit. Having said that Yu is a great place to enjoy dinner or lunch despite of the mistake they have made on my last visit.“

I stock up on Sunday to have enough to last me until Thursday morning when the bakery reopens for the week. I am having a very hard time sticking to just one item a day. I recently checked out 老街肠粉 Millstone Rice Rolls, and I was genuinely impressed by the incredible quality of the food and the unbeatable value. The restaurant itself has a very nice and bright atmosphere, making it a comfortable and welcoming spot to grab a quick, satisfying meal. I also really loved the traditional Hong Kong-style touch right at the beginning of the meal—they provided a cup of hot water for us to rinse our utensils. It is a small detail, but an authentic and highly appreciated one.

The food is where this place truly shines. The deep-fried dough stick rice roll is an absolute 10/10. The contrast between the soft rice noodle and the crispy dough is perfect, and the sauce they pour on top is simply amazing. We also ordered the shrimp with seasoned pork rice rolls, and they were phenomenal. The sweet and savoury soy sauce was perfectly balanced, the meat was incredibly flavourful, and the freshly made rice rolls literally melted in your mouth. We also tried the dried shrimp rice rolls, which were just as delicious and packed with umami.

To round out the meal, we ordered some congee, which was comforting and hit the spot. I also got a warm soy milk, and it was incredibly fresh—perfectly sweet, rich, and creamy without being overpowering.

In this economy, finding a fulfilling and affordable meal can be tough, but Millstone Rice Rolls completely delivers on value. For two people, our entire feast came to under $50, and that includes the tip! You really cannot beat those prices for the quality and freshness you are getting.

The service was decent, but to be completely honest, it was practically non-existent. You are mostly left to your own devices once the food arrives. However, for a casual, fast-paced eatery, this wasn't a dealbreaker for us at all.

Overall, the fantastic flavours and amazing prices make this place an absolute winner. I will definitely be back to try the other rice rolls and dishes they have on their menu!

“Excellent donuts. Soft, served at the right temperature, with addictive coating.

Decided to try this place randomly, glad I did. Their donuts are mini donuts and mine were served hot and fresh. They were pillow soft, like tasting a good quality French croissant that just came out of the oven. But the interior is well done and not a trace of batter, which is how it should be. Also very aromatic.

They have very few flavours but the cinammon sugar coated ones are themselves stellar.“
