“I honestly find a lot of these one-star reviews hard to believe. I’ve been coming to this location regularly for quite a while, and my experience has been consistently great.

The store has always been clean and well organized whenever I’ve visited, and the food has never disappointed me. You can genuinely taste how fresh everything is.

One of my favourite things to order is the iced Revitasize Bulletproof, and if you haven’t tried their coffee yet, you definitely should—it’s so good! I love bringing my laptop and spending some time there. I remember one time I came in and one of the girls were outside cleaning the front windows. She had one of those window squeegees that professional cleaners use, and I just remember thinking, “Wow, they really take the time to keep this place looking nice.”

What really stands out to me is the customer service. The team is always so friendly, and they’ve even remembered my order, which makes me feel welcome every time I walk in.

My husband and my kid love this place too, and we come here often. It’s become one of our go-to spots, and we’ve always had a positive experience.“

“I've been to Yu Seafood Yorkdale several times. An upscaled restaurant near all the high-end retailers. I bought my nephew here during his business trip and everything is good, and the bill was paid without going through the details. Not until I got home and found out one of the dishes was missed out from the dinner set for six. I called the restaurant the next day and the general manager Neilson responded promptly. It could be a human error and promised to compensate on my next visit. Having said that Yu is a great place to enjoy dinner or lunch despite of the mistake they have made on my last visit.“

“It’s a fine time to get in the mood for brunch at noon on Canada Day. Lesser folk may say you have no chance of sitting down anywhere proper within the hour, and smarter folk will have planned ahead days ago.

But there I was, and with one call to this place, the lovely hostess added me to the waitlist for 1 p.m. and said we were good to come then! It felt like a stroke of luck, which I chalked up to the later hour and the very hot weather.

We were seated right away with our table held, and the first thing we ordered, naturally, was mimosas.

I’m not sure if the air conditioning, fans, or exhaust system wasn't working that day, but it wasn’t much cooler inside than outside, which made it a bit uncomfortable. There were a lot of people as well. An icy mimosa helped quench my thirst.

Clearly a very lively and well-frequented joint, we perused the menu and I decided on the Merguez shakshuka. We also got the Farmer’s Breakfast. I highly recommend any of the shakshuka on the menu, as that is clearly their specialty!

Mine arrived piping hot, and the bread was very good. The yolks were perfectly runny, and I liked the nuttiness the labneh had; it was quite satisfying. The Farmer’s Breakfast left a little to be desired, as the scrambled eggs were overdone.

“We've been on a bit of a bingsu kick so finally tried The Cups. We ordered the large matcha bingsu which was around $20-25. Good size portion for two people to have, and it was mostly good. We really liked the almond chips and the mochi, and we felt that they didn't skimp on the matcha powder which is nice.

Where it missed the mark a bit for us is the green tea ice cream was actually freezer burnt and made it a bit difficult to eat. There was also a bit of clumping with the snow near the bottom.

This place seems to be really popular on weekends so it might be hard to get a seat.“

“A friend and I enjoyed lunch on Friday October 17. We had reserved and were seated at one of their window tables. Our server Quinn was friendly and efficient and was able to offer his opinion on main dishes we selected. The portions were more than generous and both of us were provided with take away containers. My friend has decided to book a family birthday here later this month. And I plan to return to Trattoria Di Parma early in November with friends who will be visiting from Calgary. Final comments: Great food, great service and very reasonable prices.“

This is my goto firehouse subs location with excellent service every time I’m in. I couldn’t get a refund online so the manager Vraj was great and told me the next time I was in the area he would make my subs since I had already paid. I came into the store and he made them up for me even though it was four days later. Highly recommend this location and if there is ever an issue They will make it right. Vraj provided excellent service and resolved my issue that firehouse corporate ignored. Subs excellent as always, really fresh ingredients . Puts the competition to shame.“

Kabalen is a true gem in North York, perfect for bringing visitors to satisfy their cravings - a home away from home. One drawback though, is the accessibility. The dining area is located upstairs and the washroom is downstairs in the basement. As a result, it is not advisable for wheelchair users to dine in. Nonetheless, the establishment maintains a clean environment and is conducive for group gatherings, or for individuals like myself, who just wants to unwind after a days work.“
