“A phenomenal meal that l will go down as one of the best I have ever had. We were there to celebrate a special occasion and couldn't have asked for anything better. We were there for almost 2 hours, but service was wonderful and attentive throughout and the dishes in the tasting menu were all so unique and special. We arrived shortly after they opened on a weekday evening and the restaurant was pretty quiet. Because of that, Chef Liu came out and served us a bonus dish that ended up being our favourite of the night. Definitely made our experience a memorable one.“

“We went as a group of 4, and ordered everything on the menu. I really appreciate their use of different textures. There’s a lot of depth in their flavor pairing as well. Overall the dishes can be a bit too sweet for my liking. The sweetness is subtle at first, i only started realizing that later on as more dishes are served and i found myself thinking oh this is getting a bit heavy. Still really enjoyed my experience at lake Inez! It’s quickly becoming one of mg favourite spots in the city.“

“HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! Our five-year-old daughter spotted the place; so on a whim we tried it, and we love it. Now we come as a family all the time. There is such a wide variety of food choices, everything is so tasty. Little Kamaria’s favourite is the Seafood Bat Pizza, I can’t get enough of the Korean wings. Mom loves their unique take on Nachos. Each visit we’ll try another new dish! The staff are super friendly too.“

The chunks of eel taste exactly like those prepared by my late mom when I was a kid. I ordered the Iberico pork steak well done. It was very juicy and not at all chewy. We also ordered breaded oyster, mixed salad and grill octopus tentacles. All are very fresh. “A cozy place to dine with too notch service and food. Upon arrival, we were among the first guests to dine in today. Greeted with warm welcomes and such a pleasant experience with the staff and chef (3 person show running the restaurant) throughout. We were given outstanding service, one that would only be expected in a more posh environment. Now to the food, we had the beef tartare, risotto, steak frites and matcha ice cream to finish. Before apps, we were given a complimentary shot of cocktail mix as well as a Polaroid pic taken by the staff for valentines week (also got a bottle of sparkling wine on the house for a no phones out during dinner). The beef tartare was good with more of an Asian take to it. There wasn’t the usual egg yolk in this version, but rather served with some sesame seeds, and crispy noodles on top (similar to that of my hometown Tomato Noodles in Kuching, Sarawak). It was crunchy, salty and acidic without any of it overpowering one another. The risotto is an interesting take and to be honest, not my style but still admirable to those who want to venture a different take to it. It’s more acidic than the standard creamy risotto, served with steamed bok choy, fried shallots and some barley. The steak frites is hands down, the most delicious, juiciest, charred and perfectly done medium rare beef sliced up nicely like a deck of cards laid out. I don’t enjoy eating steak outside that much because most restaurants don’t do it right / the way I enjoy it. But this, just done every bit to my liking. The char was on point, the flaky salt to finish perfect to the tongue, the butter mixture to top it off is a nice touch to bring it the flavours of the beef more. Definitely going in my top lists of places to go back to for steak without complaining about it later lol. Oh forgot to mention, red wine was complimentary for the steak as part of their promo ?.All in all, a very pleasant experience and will definitely go back to taste the mushroom dishes that were not available today. Might try the glass noodle dish instead next time. Thank you for the great experience and yummy food. It’s difficult to get decent quality meals nowadays with the restaurant boom in Toronto. Terima Kasih!“

Prepare to smell like BBQ after your visit. When you walk in the first thing that hits you is the smoke. And I understand it’s a BBQ place but Ive been to a different Japanese BBQ restaurant before where they had a ventilation fan above every table and there was no smell at all, you couldn’t even tell you’re at a BBQ restaurant.2. “If you’re eating on the cheap, the best deal in town is the hot n sour. Huge bowl for $6 and one of the best H n S I’ve ever had. Filled up almost 4 small bowls.Staff was super friendly. All the other dishes looked really good.Tbh was initially thrown off by the green lights outside, but the vibe inside is on point.“

“Visited here about a week ago. The restaurant is relatively small but beautifully put together. Ordered a spicy teriyaki chicken bento box and it was around 15 bucks. I didn't enjoy the noodles from the bento box and the meal generally wasn't as spicy as I expected. But overall the food was pretty good. Service took about 10 minutes, slightly long but the food was most definitely fresh so it was worth waiting - be wary if you want a quick takeout though. Lots of options on the menu and even in-house sauces available for purchase.Vegetarian options: Plenty of vegan and vegetarian options to choose from, most in a tofu base / veggies and curry. They were specifically marked on the menu which was great.Kid-friendliness: The neighbourhood was friendly.“

“One of the best dive bars in Toronto. But - what makes Food and Liquor so special is the FOOD! Chef Vince is incredibly talented. I have never had a dish that wasn’t outstanding. One of my friends would come to Toronto a couple times a year & refuse to leave town unless we visited Food & Liquor. Great craft beer selection. Cocktails are on point. Most importantly- one of the last remaining places to offer a $4 bourbon shot!Great staff and owners. Chill and comfortable vibes. If you haven’t been - you absolutely must do yourself a favour.Vegetarian options: So many veggie options! Homemade/delicious food. Always made with love and care.“

“came here for my sisters birthday and it was amazing! great food, great prices, and amazing staff. such pretty decorations. it was pretty noisy but we came on a saturday night. The size portions were okay, but i felt the fried rice could've been more. Wish they had halal options, i couldn't try their meats, but their pescatarian options were good. Overall great experience, definitely coming back!“

“Came in on a Saturday evening with no reservations and they were able to seat us right away. They had really good customer service, the servers checked in on us regularly, filled our drinks, etc. Got the steak udon, the taste and temperature was was right on point, but I would say the portion size is a bit small. However I would definitely come back again to try the other foods on the menu!“

“Incredibly accommodating, food was fresh and deliciousMy partner and I went to Soya yesterday at around 5PM. The place was empty as it wasn’t dinner time yet. We originally ordered two soyalicious sets ($29.50), but then after placing our order decided that it might’ve been too much food. So I spoke to the waitress and she removed the second set. However, when the appetiser came, we realised she removed the wrong set, which I notified her and she corrected the main and our drink.Fried mushroom- 10/10The fried mushrooms were absolutely delicious, freshly deep fried and the batter was thin. It wasn’t pictured because we were starving, and the portion was large for an appetiser.Butter Black Pepper Chicken and Rice- 10/10Absolutely delicious as well- the sauce was amazing, only wished that there were more rice (there were large pieces of chicken inside the rice) but it was incredibly flavourful.Coco Iced Tea- 8/10Incredibly refreshing, only wished it was less sweet but I presume you can ask for adjustments.Egg Tart- 6/10Came out extremely hot, but was a little too oily for us. The filling was delicious.“
