“If you’re craving congee or rice rolls, this place hits the spot. It also won’t hit your wallet, as the value you get is very generous. Not many places like this still exist where you can get cheap eats that’s both fulfilling and tasty.
Don’t let the atmosphere be a deterrent and be prepare to share a table or sit close to other customers.“

“Gourmet Kitchen is tucked away in the corner food court at the Silver Star plaza. Got the lo mai fan (Cantonese sticky rice) and it was so flavourful!! Rice was well made and there was a very good variety and portion of toppings. Their service is fast and meals even come with a drink. Remember to bring cash!“

“When I was working at Guangdong TV station more than 30 years ago, I often went to the nearby "Dake" food stall to eat. Stir-fried beef rice noodles, hand-pulled rice rolls, chicken rice porridge, braised pig intestines, cold melon beef, etc. were all must-haves for us. Called Xiaodian. Unexpectedly, a "Dake" porridge, noodle and porridge shop opened in Toronto many years ago. The store's hand-pulled rice rolls have thin, tender skin, and the porridge is made with authentic ingredients, full of flavor, and is reasonably priced. Worth recommending.“

“I’ve been here thrice and I’ve refrained from posting a review because I expected them to do better on my next visit. The food is FANTASTIC to say the least, it’s hot, clean and very satisfying. The place is clean and comfortable.
But the service leaves much more to be desired for. They don’t make you feel welcome, neither do they seem happy about their jobs. There’s a clear lack of commitment from the servers, because they don’t respond to your greetings, thank yous or welcomes. The only reason why I dislike this place is because of how the servers make me feel like I don’t belong there. It’s depressing.
The food is amazing through. I always get the noodle in soup with the beef brisket“

From dim sum to main dishes, this place assures me that I can live being vegetarian for a bit. When you're coming here, ensure you get the taro fish, which is battered and fried for a light crisp texture on the outside, with a fragrant bite of creamy taro inside. It's served with a tangy sweet and sour sauce that cuts through the heaviness as well. The stir-fried egg whites were unbelievably smooth, and had an addicting savoury taste that was complimented by the crispy puffed rice, the saltiness of the kani and the contrast of textures from the crisp, yet tender florets of broccoli.“

“Definitely a hidden gem!I just bought roasted duck and soy sauce chicken with noodle today. It was super super good. The taste is the same as I taste in Hong Kong. I totally don’t understand why it only get 4 stars. It definitely worths 5 stars! The seasoning of the soy sauce chicken is out of the world!“

“We went to Good Taste Casserole Rice on a Saturday, we were seven and we all ordered a rice casserole. They took longer to be served than most dishes in general. They came with a soup and a side of vegetables. I like that we get to add our own salt and soy sauce ourselves. We all loved the crispy rice stuck on the casseroles, as shown on one of the pictures. We don’t get to eat that with our instant rice cookers anymore, unlike when my parents used to cook our rice in a pot on the stove. Overall fresh, good and reasonably priced Chinese comfort food.“

“The perfect home-cooked meal option, everything including drinks costs around $40. Aside from the price, everything is delicious. A very good deal??????
The perfect choice for a home-cooked meal. All the wild vegetables cost around $40. It’s enough for four people, and you also need to know how to eat cleanly. Regardless of the price, everything is delicious, especially the green beans, green vegetables, pork floss, and pepper pork. Belly!
It feels like Hong Kong, where you can go downstairs to a familiar tea shop/food stall to eat comfort food “
