“Wonderful restaurant! Apps were amazing (toasted focaccia and burrata), mains were good too (saffron tonnarelli was a bit too spicy for us; the branzino was lovely). Perfect amount of seasoning overall. Great wine selection. Would definitely go back.“
“I enjoyed a lovely Sunday night dinner with my husband and baby. Food, service and atmosphere were great! Def would love more places like in the Neigbourhood. We shared several dishes, the French salad, feta pie, jackfruit Currie, a snapper dish and the chocolate mouse. All delicious and would order it all again, except we want to explore the rest of the menu too.“
“the east end wins again, the most delightful, beautiful restaurant with delicious, complex flavours all accessible as a neighbourhood, non-pretentious joint. this is a rotating menu restaurant - so reviews you read here are likely not related to what you’ll eat — which IMO, is fantastic. we sat at the bar - a place we highly encourage guests to sit at - we ordered 7 dishes (2 more than suggested) and were blown away. the service was top notch - we always appreciate skilled staff, and the atmosphere + music were a solid 10. fantastic date spot, being your parents to eat spot, friends with benefits spot + my best friend is getting married so we are celebrating spot.“
“What an amazing experience. The wine selection is amazing, something for every pallet with a great explanation of the nodes, region and pairing. The food was absolutely delicious. We had the oysters, croquettes, chorizo sausage and peppers, brussel sprouts and dill aioli was out of this world, fennel salad and finished with the delicious apple pie with cheddar crumble. An amazing experience, each bite better than the last. Definitely looking forward to my next visit!!“
“Nestled in the heart of Yorkville, 156 Cumberland is a must try. The food was delicious and I had a great server recommending what to get, and if it was enough for the table. I could not think of a dish I didn’t like! Highly recommend the tartar, potato pancake and banana milk tiramisu. The atmosphere is also perfect for date nights, casual and special occasions. Will definitely comeback.“
“This is one of my favourite restaurants in the city! The menu changes all the time so frequent visits won't be boring. The atmosphere is quiet and reserved. Perfect for a night of good food and good conversation.Parking: There is a Green P lot just a block west of the restaurant“
“The service was over the top! The food, based on the menu may give the impression of a large portion of food however, the portions are tapas style and you will not feel stuffed like you do at other places. The food is excellent and Michelin Star! My hat's off to the Chef! The price is what you would pay for a Michelin Star restaurant. It reminded me of Le Bernardin in Manhattan!“
“I would recommend this modern Indian spot to all my friends. The service was just excellent!! The three-course meal and smoked drinks were worth the price. Our plates were completely empty by the end. Their must try items are the avacado chaat dip and chips, dal makhni bowl and spiced raw mango cocktail.“
“One of the best restaurants in Toronto, 100 %. If you ever come to Downtown, this is a must try. Food, Ambience, Music, Staff.. all of it.. super quality.I’ll also like to give shout out to one of the staff, Vini. She is utter professional and very skilled. She is humble, gracious and soft spoken. Way to go, Vini . Sky is the limit for you ?“
“If I could give service 10 stars I would. A friend and I went for dinner and our server was so sweet and attentive. Just one example of the excellent service we received: while we were sitting in the back covered patio, she noticed I put on a sweater. She immediately turned on the heaters and came over to let us know, in case I was feeling cold. It’s small moments like that, that really make you feel taken care of. My only regret is not leaving a bigger tip. I’ll definitely have to return and offer more next time.As for the atmosphere, the place was full and lively but didn’t feel overly crowded or loud. The space itself I would describe it as unpretentious but still felt refined. Finally, the food. We ended up getting a main AND an app of the beef tartare since it was so delicious, as well as the trout which was cooked beautifully. To be honest pretty much everything on the menu called out to us. We also got a salted chocolate mousse that we shared and it was a perfect way to end our meal. They also had a great offering of wines and drinks.Overall: fabulous staff, great food, lovely atmosphere.“
“Celebrated my birthday with 6 courses tasting menu. Everything was superb and extraordinary. I loved my experience there. The menu was well curated and thought of. Star of the show were the fish courses !! definitely above and beyond! The staff made sure we had everything as needed ! The instant polaroid camera was a nice addition to my birthday celebration.Things to work on:- Some of the servers did not know the dishes very well so we did not understand it fully until the menu was handed out.- There were additional charges to truffles that were not discussed. The server asked us if we wanted truffles as the taste may not be everyone’s cup of tea but failed to declare it’s at extra costs. Only found out when paying the bill.- The dessert course did not stand out like any Michelin star restaurant. I was disappointed. Very ordinary flavors and simple intake.- Tables too but for small seating. Please consider having smaller tables for part of 2!“
“This is a cozy restaurant on Bloor Street West. We reserved a table for four for my sister's birthday lunch. We ordered calamari fritti to start, Cesare Insalate, Tonnarelli Cacio e Pepe, Rigatoni al Gamberi, Mafalde All-aragosta, and Paisano pizza. Service was friendly and efficient. Pasta was delicious and authentic. My sister says it was like being in Italy again! We finished off with decadent array of desserts: tiramisu, panna cotta, and cannoli accompanied by espresso. If you want a truly divine Italian experience, this establishment won't disappoint!“
“Came on a Wednesday night as a walk in (was not allowed to make reservations on the phone between 6-7pm for some reason, and as a result we were told we had to return the table after just under 2 hours). Beautiful little spot, acoustics were great and a little loud (but not in a terrible Toronto way). Decor was very cosy and comfortable and the atmosphere was warm. Food was presented picture perfect, tasted great, skills of the culinary team was very creative and slightly avant garde. Cocktails were done very well. However when we asked for new plates and cutlery we were given new roll ups which just cluttered the small table, could have just received the basic necessities as requested.“
“Love love love this place!Staff are always kind and welcoming. Great beer selection.Delicious pub food - my go-tos are the burger, wings, pretzel with beer cheese and the Mac and cheese (I'd recommend sharing this one as it is quite rich)The restaurant has a cozy vibe despite being a larger space and in the summertime their patio is pup friendly.“
“Food is good for a bar, but it's a bar. I tried "Beef Cheek" and it's incredibly tender, practically melts on your tongue. It's a very chill place, a nice place to hang out, cute drawings, and a esthetically pleasing design. I would highly recommend the place if you are looking for a bar, but if you want dinner I would prefer to go to a different place.“
“We had a wonderful experience at Tulia Osteria Bar The service was impeccable (thank you Andy!) and the food, amazing. We ordered the Antipasti Board to start and it was well curated and had ample portions. We followed this up a Pizzano pizza and Tagliatelle Bolognese. Very flavourful on both counts. And Pistachio gelato to finish. They are just getting started! Highly recommend. We will definitely be back!“
“Stopped by yesterday for an impromptu brunch. Was expecting everything to be just fine, but was blown away by the incredible taste, service, and ambiance. I had the tofu sandwich and side of potatoes, which were cooked and seasoned to perfection. The sandwich was incredibly flavorful and had a nice crunch to it. Our server was very attentive, warm, and friendly. The overall ambiance was inviting--the lighting and music was great. Definitely will be going back.“
“Wow. What a hidden (literally) gem.I had the iced chai latte and the Kouign-amann… when I tell you that pastry changed my life, I mean it. I contemplated going back to get another one. Caramelized outside, soft and chewy inside - layered with cinnamon. It was the absolute perfect start to my morning. There’s such cute little gifts for purchase as well - perfect if you work or live in the area and need to get something unique and special for a gift. The staff were super friendly and the atmosphere is cozy yet upscale - in all the best ways.I will be back - excited to try more of their food offerings! The cookies looked delicious.“
“Great pizza. I mean GREAT pizza. We tried 2 pizzas, the pepperoni and cacio pepe. We also had their ribs, apparently a new item, and it should definitely stay on the menu! Our friends had burgers, they loved them. And we also had the Ceasar salad. To round things off we also shared a dessert that had dulce de leche with ice cream and nuts. Wonderful. And revisiting soon! Danny and his wife were also nice to chat with.Parking: On this part of College Street on most evenings, it is hard to score a street spot. Just the way it is. If it's a hassle you don't want grab a cab.“
“The cocktails here are incredible. I’ve been coming off and on for years and have always been blown away by the exceptional balance and depth of layered flavours. Before covid, I had a drink here called Don’t Worry Be Happy and I never forgot it. Once of the most beautiful cocktails I’ve ever had. Don’t sleep on this unassuming place! Drinks pictured are Jingle Juice and Chin Chin Mon Chérie“
“Flor 2 Tapas Bar is a great find if you're after an upscale vibe that won't break the bank. Ideal for a date night or but also a spot you could go to hang out with friends. The beef sliders were decent, but honestly, everything else I sampled on the menu on the menu was top-notch. The flavors were on point, and everything came out hot. I’m not too into seafood but based on what I had I’m sure seafood lovers will love that because there were many options.I didn't even have space for dessert—I was stuffed! I have an excuse to come back and try other items and attempt a sweet treat at the end. Overall, if you're looking for a reasonably priced spot with a classy feel, Flor 2 Tapas Bar will not disappoint.“
“I had another great dinner experience at Henry's this past week. The food is outstanding, the service top notch, and they have one of the best wine lists in Toronto and fantastic sommeliers to help you with the wine and food pairings. It's a special night out, I highly recommend it, and make sure to stop by the wine store next door which is fantastic and has an outstanding selection of wonderful wines from around the world...“
“We were walking past it and decided to take a look. Turns out it was wine bar with some unique collections not available in LCBO. We tried a cocktail and white wine. I asked for something on the sweeter side and the server was very helpful in recommending an option. We both enjoyed our drinks sitting on bench outside while taking a break during our evening stroll. Cute, chill place - a hidden gem.“
“My favourite spot on Bayview, great for wine lovers! The staff are knowledgeable, friendly and make great suggestions based on your wine preferences. Awesome selection and variety. The food is always delicious. Perfect place for an intimate date night or for drinks with friends.“
“A hidden jewel! Nestled away in the Palace Pier condo complex, Veloute Bistro is less well known than the quality of its food and service deserve. My husband and I enjoyed our first post-pandemic meal out after discovering Veloute among the many restaurants participating in Winterlicious. Unlike some places that had limited-time seatings (understandable but annoying) we were not rushed as we savoured 3 delightful courses plus a classic lime daiquiri to start the evening. The cocktail is not on the restaurant's standard menu, but Alise was able to create a delicious version of it. The staff was also most obliging in decanting our full-bodied red wine selection in advance of our arrival so it could "open up" in time for the main course. The Winterlicious menu duplicated a lot of Veloute's regular fare, and offered a varied and generous selection. The Caesar appetizer was somewhat unconventional with finely chopped romaine, but had a classic dressing with fresh parmigiano reggiano cheese. The Warm Lobster Crab Cake was even better, with a crisp panko coating and touches of smoked salmon and spicy guacamole. We both had the steak frites with rosemary and garlic mayonnaise, a bistro classic done to perfection, and wound up the meal with a deliciously delicate creme brulee accompanied by capuccinos. All highly impressive! Chef Fawzi is clearly a master of his craft, and we will definitely return to celebrate more special occasions at this lovely restaurant.“
“Great little wine bar with a good wine selection and great tapas, really nice vibe for a date or a night out with friends. The beef tartar with chanterelles, squash with hazelnuts and the mortadella sandwich were my person favourites. Highly recommend and will be back!“
“I love this spot because it is more than a wine bar (which alone is more than enough for me). They have a retail portion with food and wines, and also serve food. I only purchased wine from here but can't wait to go back and have a seat!“
“We went for dinner here and really loved it. Cute atmosphere, staff are very friendly and welcoming and it just has a good vibe overall. The food was delicious and the staff were well informed if you had any questions. We had a wonderful dinner and dessert!“
“Fantastic, went with my husband during winterlicious and we were pleasantly surprised by the taste, presentation and creativity. The drinks were lovely, service was friendly, attentive, you feel at ease and comfortable immediately. We went back a few times after, because we know it will not be disppointing and get to have quality food.“
“I wanted to say I huge thank you to Greg!! For making it an our first experience at Wildfire so much fun and I would love him to serve our group again. He was compassionate, understanding and patient with all the questions and concerns we had about food and drinks. He lead us to some amazing recommendations! Overall would come back just to be served by him again! Thank you so much again!!“
“Talk about a Queen West "Hidden Gem!" There's nothing not to love here - the food, the drinks, the staff, the ambiance, the energy and vibe - all top notch! Be sure to grab a couple of bottles that you can't find at the LCBO on your way out. You won't regret it!“
“Can’t say enough about how great the service is here or how delicious the pastries are! I also bought breads. So happy to have them in our Cabbagetown neighborhood (second location). Thank you Manon, Charles and Jules for outstanding service! Bravo!“
“was at cry baby gallery they other day with friends and wanted a quick snack/drink. we ended up at midfield and were so happy with it. great wine choices and nice staff. we had a few treats that we all okay, nothing crazy. pickled veg, fries and salmon curdo. would suggest as mainly a drink spot.“
“Cute little cafe. Their cappuccinos are really good, as the espresso is good quality. I've tried a breakfast wrap and a muffin, and they were both yummy. Items are reasonably priced, but make sure you have cash or Canadian debit on you. Cute little place to sit and enjoy your coffee, and very friendly service. I always drop by when I'm in the neighbourhood!“
“It’s really, really delicious!!!All the menu items I tried were delicious, so I recommend them all?I went around 6pm on a Sunday and waited for an hour.I’m satisfied because I enjoyed it so much~The staff were all friendly and nice! The atmosphere is also very good~“
“One of the best dining experiences I’ve had in Toronto! Their date night menu is definitely not to be missed. From the amuse bouche to the desserts, every dish was remarkable! Being a family-run restaurant, the owners lent a personal touch to the service. They even gave us an extra dessert on the house just because I mentioned I was curious about one of the menu items! Truly a precious hidden gem in the city.“
“This place is so fun! If you're looking for a great place for small plates and drinks, this is the spot. Cozy, comfy, great cocktails and fantastic small plates from Fat Bao. Service was warm, friendly and inviting. Will have to come back to try brunch!“
“Had a great time here! Pasta was delicious. Every dish was well balanced. I would say this is definitely new age Italian as opposed to traditional. We will definitely come back to try their new menu.Got the pomodoro, cacio e pepe, crudo, bitter green salad, and cheesy bread.“
“4.5 stars. Archive is one of the most unpretentious wine bars in Toronto. Josh knows his stuff, and the wine list is comprehensive and constantly changing, with new wines almost every week. The food are small bitea like meats ans cheese that pair well with the wine. Don't expect a meal here, its all about the wine.“
“I had dinner at Deco's last Friday, and everything was great. The food was delicious, and the service was impeccable. It was an amazing evening. What a beautiful little restaurant with amazing staff and delicious food.Thank you very much for having us.“
“Great drinks, great happy hour. They don't serve food but don't seem to mind if you bring your own. Came here for Messy Margaret's Drag Bingo and it did not disappoint.Accessibility notes: Ramp at front door. The bar is all one level (including washrooms), however it is narrow and washrooms are at the back. However it is doable.Wheelchair accessibility: Ramp at front door. The bar is all one level (including washrooms), however it is narrow and washrooms are at the back. However it is doable.“
“Absolutely amazing chinese dumpling shop. Excellent wonton soup and the atmosphere, I mean wow. Although the bathroom is very nice, it is downstairs and therefore not wheelchair accessible.Wheelchair accessibility: Bathroom is NOT wheelchair accessible“
“I really enjoyed my visit to this spot. I sat at the bar and had a very engaging conversation with the bartender - who was not only super knowledgeable about her wine list, but was very generous in allowing us to try the wines and affording us the opportunity to learn about them. Will definitely be back!“
“Only complaint is that there is no "normal" seating .... high top tables only. So not accessible for anyone with disabilities and makes it difficult for those with knee/ back issues who find kit difficult to sit in high top chairs for any length of time. Fabulous “
“The best wine bar in the city! It's my go-to for an afternoon glass of wine and snacks (the sourdough is delicious and they completely converted me to half-sundried tomatoes), date nights, and spot to bring out-of-towners. Servers are both knowledgeable and warm, and the vibe is so cozy and chill. Their own line of wine is also delicious and a great bang for your buck — give it a go next time you're there!“
“This is a delayed review but it popped into my mind this morning and it’s worth noting;Bar Banane‘s dining experience is incredibly designed and curated. Intricate flavour combinations and visually appealing dishes bring your experience to another level.4 of my girlfriends and I enjoyed the canapé tasting menu. We started from the top and went right to the end - I ordered extra of the pork jowl. We tacked on the soufflé as well - divine. We were comfortably full after the meal and each one of us had a different favourite, for a different reason. The menu is so artfully created and you can tell from the flavours and execution that each member working there takes great pride in what they do.The cocktails were also delicious and prepared by a competition winning “bartender” (probably called something way more elaborate but I’m a simpleton haha) I may add! This is a perfect spot for an upscale night out with friends, date, business meeting - what have you.I am looking forward to returning in the future and seeing what the chef’s (especially the pastry chef) come up with!“
“Been there for my bff’s birthday and everything was PERFECT! I loved my steak so much, they made it in a unique shape and for the quality the price was so cheap. The waitress was super kind and friendly. I forgot to ask her name but she definitely needs a praise!!“
“Most beautiful view of toronto on the water you will get… book your reservation for an hour before the sunset of that day to get the full experience.Food is of course what you may expect with their rating … for the second best in Italy, I would have to disagree and am biased as I got to experience farm to table in the northern mountains in Abruzzo, Italy… not even comparable… sorry guys!! But they did offer a pasta that is dried from the sea breeze with the natural salt from the water / wind making a profound difference in the texture and flavour. Definitely worth the experience overall and the a la carte menu has great options for a great price.Great wine and caviar menus.Jeff the manager is the best!!!!Make sure you get a photo in the washroom with the window of the city as your backdrop ?“
