“Didn’t realize I was dining in Vancouver tonight bc this meal was gastownnnn!!! Went for a highly anticipated grey Monday tasting menu and was wow wow wowed by pretty much every bite (particularly the shrimp ravioli, and yes, I’m GLAD it came with bread). Do the freaking wine pairing if you ever go, it’s well worth it to have to think just a lillll bit less and have a sexy little sip to hold hands with each course (thank you Jake!) Service was wonderful, every member on staff that interacted with us was very kind and attentive at every step of the meal. Just a lovely experience overall (portion size was good, we left full! 🫄)“

The whole team is consistently hospitable and attentive, and Joanne was especially incredible: so genuinely friendly, responsive, and genuinely welcoming. Shoutout as well to Nika, their fabulous bar lead. We also love putting this place on the map for our friends.

“We really wanted to enjoy the special event we attended, given it was $185 a ticket, but our seating was delayed by 45 minutes (though we did get some wine while we waited). In addition, guests from the first seating walked directly through the event when the sommelier was speaking to our seating, and a rowdy group at the bar made it impossible to hear the sommelier. I encourage the organizers to more closely consider such details for future events as these details detracted from our experience, and made our introduction to The Daughter not as good as it could have been. Not sure we will be back.“

“I was really looking forward to visiting, especially because it’s Chef Sanjeev’s restaurant. The reviews were mixed, and my experience was similar — a few dishes were good, while others didn’t quite meet expectations.
My main concern was the portion size. We were told the serving was for 4 people. There were 3 of us, but it still felt a bit small for the price. I expected a bit more value for the money.“

“Stumbled upon Ayla Upstairs by chance and we were blown away. The space is gorgeous, especially the bar area, and the decor is stunning. Kim, the Head Manager, was absolutely wonderful—she explained the menu and guided us through the dishes and cocktails. We had the Drunken Wild Sablefish with a sauce that's seriously to die for, the Prawn Toast Okonomiyaki that was jaw-dropping, and the Mantao Steam Buns with smooth, silky butter—everything tasted superb. Our cocktails were expertly crafted and incredible! Chef Kevin, Chef Danvee, and Kim are a very talented, hardworking team and truly elevated out dining experience. Kim even offered to take beautiful photos for my daughter. This is a one-of-a-kind dining experience we won't forget. We'll definitely be back for the tasting menu. Highly recommend!“

“Truly one of the most fun meals I've ever had! Gully's take on contemporary Indian food has me wanting to come back again and again (and next time we are in Toronto, we will be back!). My bachelor party group was visiting Toronto from the US and we had pre-booked a table for 18, which the staff handled well. Our group ordered many different dishes and I got to try about 10 different things. Every single dish was incredible! We also enjoyed all the unique cocktails and ordered multiple rounds. When the bartender found out my partner and I were both there, he did a fun shot with us. Our whole group had the best time and I thank Gully for making our big group dinner of the trip one that I'll never forget. We felt so welcomed and the food and drink were top notch. Highly recommend!“

“The dishes we had were great. Delicious flavors. Only critique was the fritters that were hard round balls than normal fritters, but minor compared to the overall meal. Everyone was professional and a very nice atmosphere. Expect a very loud environment with the DJ playing good music.“

“Had such a great experience at Bar Banane last night. The vibe was warm and intimate without feeling pretentious. Perfect for a relaxed night out.

We ordered the smoked sturgeon rillettes, which were outstanding and perfectly balanced. Easily a standout dish.

For drinks, we tried the Berry Dangerous and Eleventh Hour, and both were fantastic.

““Absolutely loved my experience at Vie Strada Food & Drink, also known as Clandestino.
As an influencer, I’m always chasing great food and vibes, and this spot nailed both.
Chef Deso personally presented each dish at the table, starting with their incredible bone marrow where are the Chef blow? Torch touch.
The house wine was offered by the bottle for the meal. ((Thank you))
I asked Chef Deso to create something special for me, and he delivered a perfectly cooked steak paired with one of the most creamy, dreamy gnocchi I’ve had in Toronto. My date couldn’t stop raving about the Tuna and grilled octopus too.
What really stood out is that Chef runs the back of the house basically solo and with his wife, pouring so much heart into every plate and glass.
We did their dining menu special and honestly, for the quality and generosity, the price is ridiculously reasonable. I literally thought the price was per person, but it was per couple and I suggest this place to anyone that wants to take a date out for great food and beverages that’s affordable.
It felt like a true privilege to eat there.
If you’re in Toronto, do yourself a favor and book this hidden gem. Highly recommend!”

“Obsessed with Tommy’s! So many cute touches that make it a unique, cozy date spot. The staff are kind and hilarious, with good recommendations for drinks. “Tried the half Vinegar Chicken and really enjoyed it. The paprika-heavy rub gave the chicken plenty of flavor, and it was roasted perfectly with juicy meat and crispy skin. Despite the name, don’t expect an acidic, vinegar-forward gravy. Instead, the sauce is subtle and slightly sweet from the roasted shallots, complementing the chicken without overpowering it.

The roasted potatoes and pickled pepperoncini were excellent accompaniments, adding both heartiness and a bright, tangy contrast to the dish.

Apparently, this is Danny’s signature dish, inspired by one served at Bernie’s in Brooklyn and it’s easy to see why it’s become a standout.“

We ordered the Antipasti Board to start and it was well curated and had ample portions. We followed this up a Pizzano pizza and Tagliatelle Bolognese. Very flavourful on both counts. “Great little spot for pizza. This place has been on my radar for two years and I finally had the opportunity to go this past trip to Toronto. The pizza had a beautiful thin crust with puffy edges. Ingredients were fresh and uncomplicated. The appetizers were all fantastic and you can’t beat the price. I would definitely recommend and will be back the next time I’m in town.“

“I don't usually leave reviews, but this is my favourite comfort spot in Toronto. The food is a fun-take on traditional Pakistani street dishes and the flavours are still there. Portion sizes are pretty good. You have a great variety of both vegetarian and meat so there is something for everyone at the table.

I am consistently thankful for the staff every time I come here. Whether I am dining alone or with my friends - they are always kind and generous with their time and banter. The owner is very personable and funny as well with his deadpan humour.
