“So so good, went here with a friend & DEVOURED. We aren’t huge seafood lovers but I watched her eyes literally light up bite after bite. Unagi here is not our favorite but the atmosphere & other dishes more than make up for it. I cannot stress this enough, get the scallop tataki !! Our favorite thing !“

“This place was very chill and the food was really good! Skewers were easy to share and tasty. My favourites may be the tamago and the salt chicken! The takoyaki was amazing.
The atmosphere is relaxing and beautiful, not what I expected. It didn't feel like a bar and it was very family friendly! Bathrooms were clean and I love the aesthetic!
Only issue would be that their prices are a little high but it's definitely worth going!“

“I have been here a few times now as the food is always good and never a disappointment. Every item on the menu has been 5/5. The staff is really nice and friendly. After our first visit, the staff even remembered me and the waitress remembered what drinks I like. I will definitely keep coming back.“

“One of our favourite restaurants on the Yonge street strip. Perfect location next to many dessert and karaoke spots. Go here and enjoy the intimate low lit dining experience with delicious food. I ordered the pulled beef tacos and they were amazing, so full of flavour and many different tastes. Very fresh ingredients and perfectly prepped. The taco was packed, and every bite was so full of everything. I wanted to order more! The sausages platter was also really good, with different kinds of sausages paired with rice, made for a really nice combo. Definitely recommend these two dishes. Service was quick, friendly, and always efficient. I would recommend this location for anyone eating out near Yonge and finch.“

“Mokutan is a cozy izakaya with a booth-style layout, creating a comfortable, intimate atmosphere. It has a very similar vibe and layout to the neighboring Anji Izakaya, but tends to be quieter. The oden soup with beef tendon was especially delicious, although the menu itself is somewhat limited. Parking spaces are also limited, so keep that in mind if you’re planning a visit.“

“Friends highly recommended us to try this restaurant, we made reservations last night.!When we entered the server said we have two hours for dinner. We ordered different kinds of food to try like deep fried pork belly (melted in your mouth, just the right temperature), unagi risotto (the texture is very rich, the risotto is different than the Italian style), tuna brioche ( once you start to bite there are so many flavors), baked oysters (must try, I like the creamy mixture), Napa burger sliders ( we saw so many tables ordered this plate, we also tried and found out it’s very tasty), ox tongue and honey bread with cream. We also Sangria and Peach flavor soju, both drinks are good. All dishes have distinct flavors and highly recommended to make reservations before you go for dinner.“

“This is the closest you can get to a Japanese izakaya! The decoration and atmosphere is top-notch. A bit loud, but very fun. Staff are very attentive. Food is really good, but the portion is definitely izakaya style, so don’t expect to have a full belly here.
Will come back.“
