Food wasn't fresh, took over 2h for my drink which was so sweet I couldn't drink it, fungas gnats all over our table, we went as a group and we paid nearly $100 a person for crappy food, service, well if you call reheated appetizers food that is. Each person got 1 piece of appetizer each, from three "courses", we ended up going elsewhere to eat real food... never again. Oh and not to mention, took us over 2h to get there (we were excited and quickly dissapointed), and they charged the same amount for our kids under 8, as they did for adults, as well as a forced tip!! Not worth it, don't waste your time or money.“

“My girlfriend and I stopped by Carmelita on Dundas for the first time, and it definitely won’t be our last. She had the fajitas, and I tried a pupusa for the first time along with some tacos. Everything was absolutely delicious, and you can tell it’s made with care. The two house sauces they serve one spicy and one mild were both amazing and took the meal to the next level. The staff were friendly, the atmosphere was welcoming, and we left already talking about what we want to try next time. Highly recommend checking this place out!“

“Came from out of town and was recommended to come here. Great choice, the food was sooo good. We got the birria tacos and they were the best I’ve had so far. The chicken in the other tacos was also phenomenal. Guac was really well done, loved it. Out server, Victoria, was so lovely very sweet and knowledgeable about the menu. She got us an extra glass to mix our drinks. All in all, a great time and would recommend. Thank you!“

“We stopped in last night for dinner - first time there. Its such a cute space, with a lovely patio out back. The staff was incredible - friendly, and welcoming. The food was beyond. We ordered the Guac and chips, the Dubuu Ensalada, and the taco flight (6 tacos: 3 hard shell, 3 soft). Everything blew us away, but the salad was unreal. So refreshing, and spicy, and delicious. The tacos were phenomenal. Service was 10/10. Great first time experience, and we can't wait to go back!“

“I think it's a bit difficult for Mexican restaurants to stand out in the significant wave of new options that have opened up in the city in recent years. All they can do is bring the authenticity- and Pinata manages to do that with it's tasty offerings. It's a smaller restaurant that can fill up easily on peak nights. The prices seem like a deal at first until you realize that the portions are on the smaller side, making them fair. Service was fine. This place didn't amaze me but didn't disappoint either.“

As someone with celiac disease having this completely gluten free option is amazing, especially as all of my non gf friends and family who’ve come also love it because it’s really delicious food. “What a gem! We were in the mood for something different and this was it! From the outside, this place is so unassuming but the vibe inside is so chill! We went on a Thursday night and it was packed! This actually made us excited because it was obvious this place was good! I got two tacos, one carne asada and one beef bulgogi and OMG! Both were absolutely flavorful and fresh! The chips were so crunchy and fresh too! The queso was so creamy and perfectly spicy (beware if you’re sensitive to heat because it has a bite). My mom got the bowl and loved it! The ingredients looked super fresh and colorful! The service was spectacular and the food came out pretty fast considering how busy it was! I highly recommend!“

“I knew my soul was asking me for some Latin Flavor! This was my experience … Sitting in the cozy patio heated up by some warm outdoor heaters and greeted by the Owner Antonio in a very friendly manner and leading me to their cozy outdoor patio space heated up by outdoor heaters. Rustic, clean and lit up patio style, latin music, full of people in the patio chatting and laughing. I was introduced to the chef and waitress and they were both very friendly. I was served a delicious classic sour margarita just the way I asked with less agave. They bring it out with a beautiful red pedal inside just lovely. Then my main dish for this day that I was craving was the Peruvian style ceviche. It was just enough salt and lemon to my taste served with chips tostaditos on the side. I also had 4 little tequenos which are pastries filled with cheese and a sauce and finally ended with dessert un flan !!! Definitely recommend this restaurant to friends and family!“

“This is a great date night spot - great atmosphere, stylish design, creative menu and cocktail choices that make the experience of selection and tasting fun and curious. The service was great - friendly, helpful, accommodating. We went with the Ssireum Smash Fries which was very yummy and the tofu topping was a great touch (though i’m not a fan of the squiggly mccain style fries) and my partner had the Bulgogi-Asada Tako which she loved and said was worth the price. We had the Black Belt 3 Leches for desert which was nice and pleasant, but we were hoping for the sesame to come through more. The only drawback i’d say is the portion size for the price - though my partner said the taco was worth it. Will return for a happy hour!“

“Highly recommended: Shikha was working on a Saturday afternoon and was extremely kind and friendly. Tasty burritos and bowls, they have churros for a sweet snack. Outdoor patio in summer. Indoors they only had 5 small tables but maybe they have more when it's cool outside. It wasn't super air conditioned, but it was ok. Fully wheelchair/walker accessible.“

The supreme fries are easily the best dish. The ingredients are always fresh, chipotle mayo is amazing, and they make the fries fresh if it’s less busy. I get these everytime Im in the area.

The tacos and burritos are HUGE and you can choose from butter chicken, reg chicken, beef and more.“

“There are lots of Mexican restaurants in Toronto now but this is an OG favorite! This is the only place that feels like an 1920s Mexican Cantina in Toronto. The food is off the chain and authentic. If you want REAL Mexican food by a chef that is not only Mexican but also classically trained you have to eat here. This is Mexican food with soul and heart. Everywhere else is either pub food and cheap or pretentious and too high brow for me. Don’t miss this Toronto classic!!“
