“I have been going to Canadiana for many years and have always been pleased. Last night, at around 9 o clock, we experienced something unusual at Canadiana. We had paid our bill in cash to the waitress. We respect the work waitress do we always give a 20% tip. Last night, by pure mistake we did not do that. All of a sudden, the moody waitress came back to our table and told us in an unfriendly and unkindly way: Your tip was only $ 2.00. She abruptly put the bill and the toonie on the table and left. Considering that the place was quite busy (she certainly did well with tips last night) it was inappropriate and unacceptable behavior to humiliate and put us down in a public place. We are in 2026 for goodness sake and we are regular and good customers! Would she have done that if two men made that little error? Women are half of humanity and we deserve respect, kindness and consideration. I know for a fact that some people do not tip very much for whatever reason. As a matter of fact, some wealthy people are very stingy and cheap with tips. Tipping is not legally required in Ontario, but it is a strong social custom and expectation that I support as the waitresses and waiters wages are not that high. Thank you for reading me. We will be back soon at Canadiana as we enjoy the people there and the friendly atmosphere in that neighborhood restaurant.“

“My family went to Jack Astor's today July 18 to celebrate my husbands birthday. There was a line up waiting for tables,, but we did not wait long to get one. We were seated in a comfortable booth for the 4 of us. We enjoyed the services from the person at the reception, up to the host escorting us to our table and most especially our server Tilda who was very courteous and very professional. She came by our table as frequent as possible to check if we were ok and if we need anything else. The food we ordered were excellent. We loved he Asian wanton Nachos and the calamari and all our mains plus dessert. Thank you Tilda for your spectacular service and for bringing other workmates to gather together to sing happy birthday to my husband. Very nice harmonious voices and this made my family and most especially my husband birthday meaningful. thank you,“

“nice restaurant. food was good. my half rack of lamb was good although I have had better at that price. it was sitting in a very salty sauce..the waiter took it back and put my food on a clean plate without the sauce. didn't even offer to pay my espresso for the trouble. a little crowded as well. my amarena ricotta cheesecake was the highlight.“

Friendly salt-of-the-earth crowd. It won't feel like Toronto when ur here, it's more like sitting in a small-town Ontario working class bar.
