I called for a reservation for my girl's birthday a week in advance and the owner remembered without me saying a word when we arrived. At the end he brought her a complimentary delicious French vanilla ice cream topped with a macaron and raspberries filled with caramel. That's world class. As for the main meal, we ordered crab cakes, scallops, and I had the ribeye and she had the striploin. It was cooked exactly the way we love it and the beef quality is absolutely fantastic. The Chilean wine we had with it was fantastic. My desert was a warm pecan pie a la mode. Just delicious. This is the kind of place you would want to be at for a special birthday. We will 100% be back. Service like this isn't common in Toronto and I think you will enjoy it as much as we did.“

“We had to wait a while for our server to come take our drink order however it was not her fault. The hostess did not tell her we were seated and waiting. Tiffany our server was VERY friendly and had a great sense of humour. For the time of night we were there it was busy and she had quite a few tables to cover on her own. Kitchen took a while for our food but it did come out hot and tasty. Nice atmosphere and liked that there was a DJ that seemed to enjoy his job. Food tasted amazing just had to wait a while“

I got the veal parm also with all the sides, and when we sat down with my family to eat, my 91 year old Italian mom who was a very good cook, just kept raving about the food. She says, this is just like homemade, just like I would make it and she was right! We kept repeating with every bite. It was delicious, highly recommended. Definitely a staple and going back.“

“Had such a great meal at Thai Jalearn on Dundas! Everything was delicious, but the standouts for me were the crispy pork with pad kra pao and Kai Dao—so flavorful and perfectly crispy! The Pad Thai noodles were also fantastic, and the spicy eggplant with chicken had just the right balance of heat and flavor.

“We visited and dine here for the third time and the food tasted good as expected. The portions were adequate and the service was fast (around 10 mins). Pop and the other lady server were fantastic and very customer friendly. Just one minor concern on the chicken wings, i hope they can ensure no blood remained inside the chicken prior to cooking. But overall, we really enjoyed our dinner and didn’t bother travelling from Mississauga to Etobicoke.“

We had dinner here one evening, sat outside, and the whole experience was fantastic. Our server was excellent, and the pizza was so good my son insisted on going having it again the very next day. In his words: “Can we order the best pizza I have ever eaten again?” So we did.

“My family went to Jack Astor's today July 18 to celebrate my husbands birthday. There was a line up waiting for tables,, but we did not wait long to get one. We were seated in a comfortable booth for the 4 of us. We enjoyed the services from the person at the reception, up to the host escorting us to our table and most especially our server Tilda who was very courteous and very professional. She came by our table as frequent as possible to check if we were ok and if we need anything else. The food we ordered were excellent. We loved he Asian wanton Nachos and the calamari and all our mains plus dessert. Thank you Tilda for your spectacular service and for bringing other workmates to gather together to sing happy birthday to my husband. Very nice harmonious voices and this made my family and most especially my husband birthday meaningful. thank you,“

“Came in to Curry and Chutney for lunch with the family after a visit to the public library nearby. The place is beautifully decorated, very chic decor. Good for a date night. The food is pure veg and isn't too bad. We had the malai kofta with Naan which was pretty good. The dahi chaat was okish, but the palak dosa and filter coffee were very good. The reduced star is for the chaat dish which missed the mark. The service for pretty good and fast. There is parking available around the complex, so pretty convenient location.“

“Such a hidden gem! We are a big fan of Ethiopian food, but never knew that this spot was right here. This seems like a nice owner run shop. The owner and his family are super welcoming, polite and the food tasted amazing! We also tried the gluten free Enjira made with teff, incredible!

The place was clean, including the washroom (which is great), food tasted well and there were folks constantly coming in to take out or eat in, which shows the popularity of the spot. The owners were polite towards our toddler, who also had a good time here. We highly recommend this spot and we will be back here again.“

“I don't know about some of the negative reviews. All I can say, is that I have come here multiple times to buy a slice of pepperoni, and it is consistently excellent. It's a huge piece with plenty of pepperoni, and is always cooked well. See the photo I attached, which is what it looks like with every visit I make during the day. The thickness is good and for $4.35 with tax it's an excellent deal. I've also ordered from this location for regular delivery, and I have never been disappointed.
