I called for a reservation for my girl's birthday a week in advance and the owner remembered without me saying a word when we arrived. At the end he brought her a complimentary delicious French vanilla ice cream topped with a macaron and raspberries filled with caramel. That's world class. As for the main meal, we ordered crab cakes, scallops, and I had the ribeye and she had the striploin. It was cooked exactly the way we love it and the beef quality is absolutely fantastic. The Chilean wine we had with it was fantastic. My desert was a warm pecan pie a la mode. Just delicious. This is the kind of place you would want to be at for a special birthday. We will 100% be back. Service like this isn't common in Toronto and I think you will enjoy it as much as we did.“

“Stumbled upon this cute little place when looking for a Middle Eastern restaurant with vegan options. We loved the food here! We got vegan steak wrap, and vegan steak bowls, as well as the incredibly flavourful falafel and hummus. Also their double pistachio baklava is to die for! Highly recommend!“

“The food at 850 Degrees is absolutely amazing, it is the best place in the GTA where our family can get GF and dairy free pizza that is baked in the oven that actually tastes like a real pizza, with no cross contamination. The 'cheesy' garlic bread and the meatballs are also super delicious. All the ingredients are very fresh and high quality and you can tell there is so much thought and care that goes into the design and execution of the dishes. Our various servers have been super friendly and helpful as well. Absolutely worth the drive for us! Thank you for all that you do! :)“

“We were just passing through the area and decided to stop at Jack Astor’s for a bite to eat, and we’re so glad we did!

The atmosphere was lively, welcoming, and offers plenty of screens if you’re a sports fan. There was a great variety of food & drink options on the menu, making it easy to find something for everyone. Plus, our food came out in a timely manner, which was especially appreciated since we were traveling.

A special shoutout to our server, Alex, who did a fantastic job taking care of us and making our visit even more enjoyable!

“This was my third omakase experience, and this visit fell short of expectations. I originally booked because the restaurant advertises a $120 menu on both their website and reservation platform. I even called several times beforehand to confirm details, but no one ever picked up. When we arrived, we were told the $120 option doesn’t exist and that $150 is the minimum — a frustrating start.

The food itself was creative, with interesting flavor combinations and fish imported from multiple countries. However, I genuinely enjoyed only about half of the dishes. The head chef was entertaining, but his presence was brief during the 90‑minute seating.

Despite the rave reviews on Google and Reddit, my experience was just fair. For two people, the bill came to roughly $400 after tax and tip. Having tried many sushi restaurants in both Vancouver and Toronto, I found the value on the higher side for what we received. The quantity was generous with many sushi varieties — we left overly full without ordering add‑ons — but overall, the experience didn’t quite justify the price.“

“Had such a great meal at Thai Jalearn on Dundas! Everything was delicious, but the standouts for me were the crispy pork with pad kra pao and Kai Dao—so flavorful and perfectly crispy! “This is exactly the kind of neighbourhood Italian restaurant you hope to have around the corner. Truly family-owned, warm, welcoming and wonderfully authentic — you can feel the care behind everything they do.

The food is fantastic, especially the sugo. Rich, comforting and the kind of sauce that tastes like it’s been made the same way in someone’s family kitchen for generations. The menu is also incredibly well priced for the quality, which feels increasingly rare in our city these days.

But what really makes this place special is the service.

You’re treated less like a customer and more like someone they’re genuinely happy to have in their restaurant.

“I don't know about some of the negative reviews. All I can say, is that I have come here multiple times to buy a slice of pepperoni, and it is consistently excellent. It's a huge piece with plenty of pepperoni, and is always cooked well. See the photo I attached, which is what it looks like with every visit I make during the day. The thickness is good and for $4.35 with tax it's an excellent deal. I've also ordered from this location for regular delivery, and I have never been disappointed.

“I was there on a Saturday night with 5 friends. We were all 70 years old or older. We all sat in a roomy corner booth.

The service was efficient but never fawning.

The food was extraordinary. The portions were very generous. More importantly, all the food tasted great. (We had six different dishes.) Interestingly, we all agreed that not only was the food served very hot, but it also stayed hot. I suspect the serving bowls were heated, but the extreme width of the bowl rims didn’t absorb that heat, so that you could touch them

I ordered the tomato-based seafood risotto. In other restaurants, the risotto came with one shrimp, one scallop and a couple of mussels. My order was infused with plenty of shellfish.

The place is full of young ones: 25-40 years old. So the environment was positive and electric. It might have been the location and nature of our seating area, but we could easily hold conversations“

“I used to go to Revolver, but this Mom-and-Pop is more healthy and wholesome (much less grease and salt). VERY generous with toppings which are always fresh and good quality. Willing to give anything you ask including extra home- made sauce for free. I often see them give free slices to students. Never charged me extra for delivery either :)“

“We visited and dine here for the third time and the food tasted good as expected. The portions were adequate and the service was fast (around 10 mins). Pop and the other lady server were fantastic and very customer friendly. Just one minor concern on the chicken wings, i hope they can ensure no blood remained inside the chicken prior to cooking. But overall, we really enjoyed our dinner and didn’t bother travelling from Mississauga to Etobicoke.“

“We had a really good experience at this Swiss Chalet location on Dundas in Etobicoke. The food was delicious, and we found the portions noticeably more generous than at some other Swiss Chalet locations we’ve visited.

Our server was very friendly, welcoming, and attentive, which made the experience even better.

The only small thing I would change is the lighting. The light directly above our table was quite bright and a little harsh. Softer lighting would make the atmosphere much more comfortable.

Overall, great food, generous portions, and wonderful service. We’ll definitely be back!“
