“Order the medium size turkey dinner was bigger then I expected and the sides were amazing. The turkey was well season and so tender and soft not dry at all. It was wonderfully delicious. All my party memeber could not get enough of the feast mcEwan provided to our table, was truly a feast to the eyes and stomach. Highly recommend following the reheating instructions, not only did it heat the turkey up to the a perfect temperature but the turkey skin came out nice and crispy was delightful. “Delicious vegan Caribbean food in the heart of Kensington Market. Veggie D'light hits the spot for lunch on a weekend. I had their meal with jerk saitan, veggies and basmati/quinoa. I asked about the soup of the day and was promptly offered a taste by the friendly chef. Had the medium soup as well--a delicious rich soup with yams and coconut milk. Now I have a new favorite lunch spot.“

“Lola's Catering makes good on a promise.
I ordered 500 Puff Puffs for a work event. They were willing to take the order over the phone. I went in person for my own peace of mind. The lady at the front was patient while I finalized the order and offered no concerns with the 24hr turn around. The Puff Puffs were consistent and tastee. Those familiar with Puff Puffs enjoyed it and for others it was a great introduction to this wonderful West African snack. I would definitely use their catering services again.
Lola's also has take out snacks. I particularly enjoy the chicken sausage rolls. I also enjoyed their scotched eggs. I was not a fan of the fish sausage roll or the akara but that is a me thing, as I am only now learning to expand my pallet for Nigerian foods.
I want to address comments about their customer service. The five times I have been there I have typically walked away feeling indifferent to the service. It is neither the best nor did I feel unattended to. In fact I am thankful to the gentleman for taking his time to explain the snacks to me and engaging my banter with him. Lola's staff cares. It is evident in the quality of the food and their patience with a neophyte like myself. Cheers! Looking forward to repeated visits.“

“I’ve walked by here for months, and eventually tried the PB&J yogurt cup. I couldn’t resist after that and now I am a regular. I learned who Mona is …..she is the owner! and every tip I’ve given is actually hers.

She has recommended a famous and popular maple cup, and has so many fresh options and substitutes. It is very much worth the price to eat something fresh, locally sourced and made, right in the morning to start my day. And of course, I get to support Mona!

“Someone dear in my family purchased an Easter cake as a special treat for our Easter dinner dessert. It was really a most pretty work of art on the outside. BUT, as a veteran family cake baker, I was unimpressed with the qualilty and taste of the product as something to eat and savour. The cake itself was dry and tasteless with little resemblance to a propoer carrot cake. The overly generous icing was even worse leaving the palate with a sticky feel that smacked of pure lard or shortenng but decidedly not butter. Just gross! Anyone who thinks this is a fabulous cake has never eaten homemade carrot cake with cream cheese frosting, or has no taste at all. So, B and B, do stick to decorating I'd say.“

“Sushi place on your way into and out of college station. Pretty thick sashimi slices and rice to meat ratio is really good, also large portion of miso soup that was pretty good. A semi-large selection of take-out types and perfect for quick lunch.“

There was a moderately extensive range of sandwiches available, and I decided to go for the schnitzel. As it was cooked there was a little wait, however, the service was pretty rapid. Cost was just over $14 so it's what you would expect downtown. The schnitzel tasted pretty good and I had no complaints on a quick sandwich. The facilities were clean and well maintained.“

One of the staff members, Shanthy, is especially kind—she remembers my order and always makes me feel welcome. The food is consistently tasty and of good quality.
However, I find it frustrating that there is an extra charge for credit card payments when the purchase is below $4. That policy could definitely be improved.“
