Each with their own overwhelming “vibe,” when all you wanted is something simple, warm and welcoming. Unfortunately, hard to find in a city like this.

But thankfully for us, we hit the jackpot with New Sunrise Grill!

Easy, simple, kind, attentive and the warm and welcoming hospitality that makes it your go-to breakfast spot during your stay, even if it’s only for 3 days.

Especially when you receive service from someone like Ms. Carol. A kind and sweet soul from the get-go, I’d have many more meals here if I lived in the area.

At the end of the day, who cares about all that branding if you don’t have personality or hospitality?“

“It was my first time there, as I am not from Scarborough, but met my friend who lives nearby. We both had the peameal bacon breakfast. It said 8 oz. of peameal served. It came with 4 super thick slices. I'm thinking more like 10 oz. minimum!!! Potatoes were grilled, not deep fried, and my eggs were perfect!!!! Great server!!!!! “My boyfriend really wanted to try this place so we headed over and had a great time.

It was about noon when we arrived, and it was pretty empty inside. Since we were the only ones, service was quick. They were pretty friendly too.

I ordered the special which was the BBQ Chicken Sandwich, and my boyfriend got the Sausage, Egg and Cheese breakfast sandwich. We both chose the buttermilk biscuits for our sandwiches. And even though we chose our own biscuits, we were surprised to see that the biscuit size was huge and complimentary to our sandwich contents. We're just used to tiny biscuits lol.

Anyways I loved my sandwich and my boyfriend enjoyed his. The chicken was good. I'm all about good sauce, so I loved the BBQ sauce. The sauce really tied all the ingredients together. This sandwich had all my favorite things in it: chicken, tasty sauce, pickles, and coleslaw. So it's no surprise that I loved it. There was a good amount of pickles in here too. This was really flavorful, and I enjoyed each bite.

I also threw in a hashbrown last minute, and it was great. It was crispy, crunchy, and had a great golden brown color. Overall, just a solid hashbrown. We loved it.

It was a little small inside and we didn't have much space to put our heavy coats, but that wasn't much of a problem. For a breakfast sandwich, it's a little pricey but in proportion to the quality of the sandwich and how large it is, I'd say it's reasonable.

We had such an amazing experience, food was wonderful and we definitely won't forget this place. Without a doubt we'd come back again.“

“Pera Restaurant was very busy and full when we visited, which already said a lot about its popularity. The food was fresh, well-presented, and full of authentic Turkish flavors. “Visited while in the Greenwood-Coxwell area and due to their recent collaboration with another popular sandwich spot in the city. While they have a café facing Gerrard St., they also have a patio that is located in the laneway behind their café which is also a fairly comfortable space. They are best known for their breakfast and brunch items, especially their buttermilk biscuits and breakfast sandwiches, all being based on locally-sourced ingredients. Their buttermilk biscuits are also available for order on their own, which can be provided fully baked or frozen (for bake-at-home). Other items include their buttermlik pancakes and other homestyle/classic items such as macaroni and cheese, fried chicken thighs and salads. They also offer smaller size portions for kids or for those looking for a lighter version of their popular dishes, such as a mini version of their macaroni and cheese and pancake (one pancake).

Their collaboration with Bear Steak Sandwiches was the Lazy Bear, which came with a sunny side up egg, medium-rare flank steak, white gravy, pickled red onion and jalapenos under one of their homestyle biscuits. While it was a bit messy, the sandwich itself had a great mix of flavours with the steak, gravy and a slight kick with the pepper alongside the biscuit, all blending together well.

Service was also friendly in checking in during the meal, as well as being accommodating in case I needed an item or wanted to move to a shaded area on their patio. Overall, would recommend as another good breakfast/brunch spot in the east end of the city, particularly in the area.“

“A Scarborough Breakfast staple if you are wanting a large portion, great service and bottomless coffee. Panagio's is always the spot to meet friends and relax on an early morning Saturday or Sunday. The restaurant is always busy, but we never feel rushed to leave and vacate a table. The staff is attentive and constantly checking in without being bothersome. My only complaint is 1 washroom/stall each for men/woman. It's perpetually busy and just never feels clean. So keep that in mind if you have alot to drink and a heavy breakfast and are thinking you can get into the bathroom quickly. Overall, one of the best spots in Scarborough. I am glad they survived!“

“Nice spot on the Danforth if you want a light lunch. There’s a small patio. Cafeteria style. We ordered a BLT and a grilled sandwich - black forest ham and Swiss cheese. They were both tasty but a little on the expensive side for simple sandwiches. The food was good so we’ll visit again and definitely recommend to others.“

We ordered the Eggstatic Steak & Eggs, Eggstatic Tomato Jacket, Classic Middle Eastern Breakfast with Hummus Foul Bowl, Blueberry Pancakes, and Belgian Waffle. “I took the teenagers out for brunch and they absolutely loved it.
I didn't realized that I was walking into a menu full of waffles.
The smell as you walk in is like a hug. A sweet pleasant waffle aroma. The cappuccino was good, the mango lasso was fantastic. I had the Benny waffles and the girls had omelettes with mini waffles.

The portions are generous, the bacon was phenomenal. Great food the service was fantastic. Hats off to the chef!“

“Just Different- lots of staff. A new diner counter space. Bright and cheerful. Still a great menu for breakfast and lunch. They did a great job on the space to make it even more comfortable. Great staff and fast. This is a space to come for a family brunch - the tables are for 4 people - so not a large group. Does not hurt to ask. We ordered the STACKED Surprise - Cinnamon French Toast, 2 pancakes and a waffle covered in a berry sauce and chocolate sauce with a nice fresh fruit medley on top. The pancakes were so melt in your mouth along with the waffle. Great tasting meal. We also ordered a plate of home fries that were freshly done - not a frozen variety. Glad the place reopened as it was always a great place to go out for breakfast.

Hot Chocolate for the kid was good and they provided the creamer to cool it down. I had the Keto Green Smoothie - always liked this one.“
