“it was a positive and negative first visit. lovely placed when we showed up. order was taken within a couple minutes. half hour later, not seeing our waitress the whole time, had to ask the other one if she could see what was going on with our order. she immediately seated us at a better order and took our order again. the original waitress then came over interrogating us on whether we just made a whole different order. I explained the situation. she read what she thought was our order, and it wasn't. when she finally came back with our food she claimed the order ticket had fallen on the ground. no apologies, simply excuse after excuse. even after all that, something as simple as she didn't bring the gravy yet also charged for that. I would recommend to the kitchen to put the fruit in a bowl as it made a plate full of liquid under the rest of my breakfast. the food was absolutely delicious and the one waitress was very helpful. but I probably won't return after this experience. hoping it's just a one off bad day“

“My friend and I often go for breakfast on Friday mornings to the Sunset Grill. The service is always fast accurate and friendly. On our last visit, we had a lovely waitress named Allie, who took care of our order. During our visit she was especially attentive and returned to refill our coffee and asked how our food was as well as if she could bring HP sauce or hot sauce. It’s unusual to enjoy such superb service! We have found that the food is always delicious and prepared with fresh ingredients. I highly recommend this location.“

“Came in here after a long day at the Toronto Zoo and was so pleasantly surprised! This is a hidden gem of Filipino food! Prices are very reasonable and the food is very very amazing!!! Can’t say enough about the flavours!! Our server, Racquel, was super personable, knowledgeable, and knew how much food we needed for our party. Can’t recommend this restaurant enough. :)“

“I have driven past Ted's many, many times over the years and I've been meaning to stop in for a meal but didn't make it there until recently. It was worth the wait!

The place has an old-school charm, looking a little worn, but warm and inviting. Some of that worn ambiance is purposeful, and contributes to its appeal as a popular spot for filming TV shows, such as The Handmaid's Tale, Orphan Black, Nikita, Lost Girl, commercials, and many other productions.

Their menu is simple and straightforward, offering classic breakfast items and typical diner fare. I settled on their 8oz Minced Sirloin Steak, served with Mushrooms, Gravy, Green Peas, Country Fries, and a Salad. That's a lot of food for under $16.00!

The portions were very generous, and the flavours were good. This was a good meal, with really good service. I'll definitely be back to try their burgers, and all-day breakfast.

Portions are good but what sets it apart from other generic breakfast spots was the friendly and efficient service we received. It was busy with only 1 waitress but she was on top of everything and did it with a smile. I would visit again.“

“A couple of days a go we stopped by Eggsmart in Whitby on Victoria and had a great experience. The food came out hot and fresh, the portions were generous, and everything tasted homemade. What really made the visit stand out was our waitress, Tana. She was friendly, attentive, and checked on us at the right times without hovering. She kept everything moving smoothly and made us feel welcome from the moment we sat down.
If you want a solid breakfast or brunch spot with great service, I definitely recommend Eggsmart. Ask for Tana if you can.“
