“Mary is always so lovely and warm welcoming. I’ve been coming since I moved to the neighbourhood and was hand-fed by Mary herself with every bit of delicious flavour on the platter. I try to bring every friend, date, person here once in a while! Consistently satisfying every time.“

“I was looking for a place where can I get spaghetti and by chance found this awesome place, I got my spaghetti's with meat and the chef put the cheese on it place it in the oven, that was fantastic. The atmosphere is amazing. You have to be very hungry in order to finish your meal that comes with salad and a bread.“

“A foodie friend told me I had to try Ethiopian food here, and it absolutely lived up to the hype! Wazema is an absolute gem in East York that every foodie in the GTA needs to visit.

We ordered the Wazema Platter (for 2) and the Zigini Wot, paired with mango juice. Every single item on the platter was tremendous. Honestly, some of the veggie items on the platter tasted even better than their Indian counterparts!

The restaurant itself is cozy, intimate, and seats about 30 people. It's located in one of the busiest spots on the Danforth, but we managed to find street parking easily. To top it off, the staff was incredibly helpful with all of our questions and special requests.

“The manager was super kind, allowing us to reserve for a group of 6 within a same-day notice. The vegetarian bayaaynatu was really good! Everyone in the group enjoyed their food and found the portions to be really filling. The food was presented well and tasted just as good as it looked.“

“I am from the Rio Grande Valley Texas and generally try to go to an Ethiopian restaurant when visiting big cities. I thought the food was very tasty. I got the meat plate. The ambiance was small and cozy, giving me the feel of someone's home. The owner was very nice and made sure I was comfortable and she talked with me as if I was visiting her home. “Ordered via uber and was blown away by this food. Tried grilled tuna, fufu, plum nut sauce with goat. Never tried this cuisine before so I was taking a chance this weekend.

I had no idea West African food is so tasty and flavourful!!!!

“Just right and amazing . The vibe here is great. The place is not too extravagant nor subpar to the bar standards. Above all else, the price is reasonable. Ask for Sam Kate, she is just a great attender and employee. This lounge has a band playing on certain days and times. In addition, the establishment offers good deals on food and nourishment from their kitchen before 11pm . Try it out. Enjoy your time and leave happy.“

“Nice spot on the Danforth if you want a light lunch. There’s a small patio. Cafeteria style. We ordered a BLT and a grilled sandwich - black forest ham and Swiss cheese. They were both tasty but a little on the expensive side for simple sandwiches. The food was good so we’ll visit again and definitely recommend to others.“
