“This is my second time here, but it won't be the last. We love the food here! We got tibs and the vegetarian platter. Such delicious, colourful, bright flavours in the veggies. The meat was tender and spiced perfectly. The owner and her niece are so kind. Thanks for everything! We will be back again and again!“
“I tried this place with a Groupon and ordered 1x Meat Combination and 1x Vegetarian Platter for takeout. I've had several Ethiopian restaurants in the past and have always loved the heavy spices used in the cuisine. This is one of the few foods where I prefer the vegetarian dishes to the meats, with the platter featuring a mix of lentils (my favourite), chick peas, cabbage and carrot stew, beets, carrots/string beans, and collard greens (unfortunately tough and hard). The meat platter contained doro wat (spicy chicken stew), a lamb dish, and a beef stew. Each were spicy and bursting with flavour. The chicken was fall-off-the-bone tender, but the ground beef was quite dry and probably my least favourite dish. Everything is eaten with your hands by using the injera (Ethiopian sour dough) to scoop up the food. Would love to come back and dine-in.“
“This was my first experience with Ethiopian food and I really liked it. The Injera bread was so different and such an experience to be grabbing each bite with this. We ordered a mixed plate and even though I didn't know what each thing was, I just knew all the flavors were different and delicious. One mixed plate is good for 4-5 people.“
“Very warm restaurant. This is my first time eating and having ethipian / erithean cuisine. The owner made the whole experience even warmer. We chatted about ethiopia, how to eat food served and about her culture. Felt very welcome in this placeThe tasty food was just a bonus!Had a wonderful time!I ordered vegetarian set. It was 6 flavors of small plates of various beans and vegetables. But I loved the tofu tibs! Very tasty! All the dishes tasted very fresh!Vegetarian options: Tofu tibsVegetarian platter“
“Our first time to try Ethiopian and we will certainly be back, when visiting Toronto again. We had the pero platter as a sampling of the beef chicken lentils chickpea and collar greens. The waitress was very helpful and pleasant as she answered our questions and made suggeation. thank you very much“
“This restaurant serves amazing dishes. The one we eat was mixed meat and vegi. The service was perfect especially the lady was so humble and active. The smell of the restaurant reminds my daughter her brief stay in Ethiopia. We enjoyed it a lot.“
“First time trying Ethiopian cuisine the ambiance and hospitality 10/10 plus the food tasted so good. Vegetarian friendly options too which is little tricky in Canada.Must visit and especially coffee must try. The owner was super welcoming kudos to her“
“Very cozy restaurant. We were there for jazz and it's a perfect intimate venue for it. We opted for dinner before the show and the veggie platter was delicious, though a tad light on spicing. The menu is limited to 3 selections and you can choose to mix and match.“
“My first time trying Ethiopian food, and it was good. They were very friendly, explaining the food and how to eat knowing it is our first time. The meat & veggie plate with injera is definitely very filling and tasted great. The one interesting thing was that we were told it was takeout only at that point. We went around 6:30pm so maybe Google Maps was wrong and they were closing soon instead of at 8pm like they were listed?“
“We have been here a couple times and everything we have tried has been delicious. Our favourite is the veggie platter, and the meat combination platter and doro wat were also so good - everything tastes homemade. The service is also great, Lilly was very attentive, kind and friendly. We’ll be back!“
“I had been hearing about the Ethiopian House for more than a year. Finally got the chance to try it out and absolutely loved it!! I got their vegetarian thali and it has these little little soul food balls that just satisfied my soul! They serve these little balls of gravy, lentils and veggie with neer dosa (Indian name, not Ethiopian, I don’t remember the Ethiopian name for it - so sorry!), which are delicious. The whole ambience is just wow! So cultural, colourful, vibrant and transports you to Ethiopia!Easy on pocket, great space, supremely spic and span washrooms, service is amazing and one must try their coffee - there’s a whole ritual to serving coffee that is a must-do!!!!Definitely going back!♥️“
“I was there with my family during Family Day. Nice restaurant with a good experience. We ordered plate with different vegetables, meat and injera. I know well about Ethiopian food and learned how to make different dishes. Some how good quality injera(flat bread) is very important. The reason I didn’t leave 5 stars today because of poor taste of injera, wasn’t fresh or well done:(Very clean washrooms!Vegetarian options: Good choice of different vegetarian dishes“
“Absolutely delicious Ethiopian food! Very flavorful dishes! Tender meat and unique offerings. Service was quite friendly, though a little slow.I have been to a number of Ethiopian restaurants, this one was by far the best. Will definitely return.“
“Wonderful experience and felt exceptionally well-treated. I brought a date here after dinner last night and we walked in an hour before closing. There was one one employee working. She told us about "THE" Ethiopian coffee ceremony, which was a touted option on the menu. I was intrigued and yet felt bad I'd make this poor girl do all that work around closing time. However she seemed really enthusiastic and we enjoyed everything about it. Thank you so much Senedu for the hospitality and information. That coffee was absolutely delicious ?. I'll be back to try the food!“
“Was only popping in because I was lost. Told myself it’s not bad. It’s (an Ethiopian place) have never felt more at home. People were kind, didn’t speak much English at all, but relaxing. Had a double vodka. Place was clean.Very nice and not down my throat only to help.Thank you!“
“Great food, great atmosphere and friendly service ❤ I am not very familiar with Ethiopian / Eritrean food so to try things out I got the Vegan Veggie Combo Platter which had samples of about 14 different dishes and a salad. It was great, served on injera (a crepe-like bread) which is used as the cutlery so on top of being delicious, it was fun to eat!“
