Wazema Ethiopian Restaurant Reviews
Great service and delicious food.
A foodie friend told me I had to try Ethiopian food here, and it absolutely lived up to the hype! Wazema is an absolute gem in East York that every foodie in the GTA needs to visit.
We ordered the Wazema Platter (for 2) and the Zigini Wot, paired with mango juice. Every single item on the platter was tremendous. Honestly, some of the veggie items on the platter tasted even better than their Indian counterparts!

The food was absolutely delicious and tasted like real authentic Ethiopian cuisine. The service was excellent, and everyone was very friendly and welcoming. My only suggestion would be to make the dining area a bit brighter. A lighter, more modern interior would make the atmosphere feel even more cozy and relaxing. Overall, I had a great experience and will definitely be back!

Wazema Ethiopian Restaurant offers a taste of paradise with its well-prepared, flavorful dishes like the Wazema Platter, Cha Cha Tibs, and Doro Wat. The friendly staff, including Hawan, provides excellent service and ensures that visitors feel at home with a warm welcome and smiles. The menu features a variety of options, but the restaurant can become loud and dark later in the evening as it transforms into a club/lounge. It is recommended to visit earlier in the day to fully enjoy the food and atmosphere. Recent reviews highlight that the food is consistently fresh, flavorful, and unique, with dishes like tibis firifir being especially praised. The Wazema Platter is popular for its variety of veggies and meats, offering a filling and tasty meal. Visitors note that the portion sizes are good, and the quick delivery makes it a convenient choice for takeaway. While some dishes, like the cha cha tibs, may be less flavorful or chewy, the overall experience remains positive. The restaurant is a favorite for anyone looking to experience authentic Ethiopian or Eritrean cuisine.
