This is a very, very enjoyable place to have lunch in downtown Toronto. Admittedly it is a tiny bit obscure because it is in the basement of a church on Bathurst street.The food is very very friendly and superbly comforting on a cold day or even a warm summer's afternoon. Woman cooking is gracious and welcoming and everything is more or less perfect .Atmosphere is that of the church basement in a very, very charming way. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Love coming here to de-stress and wind down/get some work done. They were not kidding, ‘heavenly’ place this is.Super quiet, quick/dignified/friendly service, plenty of space/amenities. Soft rock playing in the distance by the server as she is doing her prep. Soups in the crockpot, church doing its business. We visited this establishment because we were looking for Ukrainian cuisine, came across this place on the Internet and read very good reviews.We tried the dumplings, they were very tasty, freshly prepared, and the mushroom soup was also very tasty.Everything is like home and the prices are good.It is located in the basement of the church, the atmosphere of the old assembly hall, as if from the USSR.
