“Susie's Rise & Dine was excellent! The pancakes are a must try, just don't expect traditional pancakes. The banana pudding was incredible, the chicken tenders were a hit (even with a picky eater), and the seafood noodles were surprisingly delicious and packed with crab flavor. The filet of shrimp was a bit blander than expected, but the onion rings were an experience on their own. The service was fantastic, though the atmosphere can get quite loud, making conversation a bit difficult. Definitely worth a visit!“

“We had a great breakfast at George Street Diner while visiting Toronto for the weekend. The patio was perfect for enjoying a cool summer morning. Our food was delicious, but the service was excellent. I had a particular craving and Nicole went above and beyond and did some research for us while we ate to recommend a restaurant in another neighborhood for later in the day.. thank you, Nicole! “Sometimes a very slightly oppressive server is a breath of fresh air. Asking customers questions like ‘everything perfect and plates all delicious?’ You feel backed into a corner with your answers. If you are me you close up and smile I was not in a rush but the server assured me my food was coming right out. The place is called The Lakeview but there has been no view of the lake since the fifties.
She insisted on telling me the specials and at the end of the meal watched me choose the tip % very closely then specifically said ‘thanks for that.
Also I think I was sat near the kitchen with no window for her convenience. Food was good, had salad instead of home fries with breakfast, very fresh, a bit overdressed. I was thoroughly entertained by the mild threats, love the vibe of this old diner and the food tasted good.“
