“Food is consistently well prepared, tasty and of generous proportions. My favourite being the salmon, which is grilled to perfection every time I've had it. The prices are fair and on par with other restaurants in the area. The service is very friendly. It's a family business, and they do truly take care of their patrons. Add to that, that the interior of the restaurant creates a comfortable and inviting ambience and you've got a winner. Oh, and the patio is very cool with a ceiling of grapevines and twinkling lights hanging down the wall. I would warn that it's very loud, unfortunately because it's right on the corner of Pape and Mortimer so traffic's right beside it, but they have created an enclosed space with a look of a garden, which makes up for the loud noise.“

“Initially, I was going to review this place much lower but I got the sense that they were genuinely kind and great people. I live quite far away and dont get to travel downtown often. But when I do, I always look forward to the food and I was craving a chicken shawarma poutine. This came up as a well reviewed place for chicken shawarma poutine and so I went to try it and as soon as I got in through the door I was greeted with a cheerful and charismatic Hi. I specifically asked if they had chicken shawarma poutine and she nodded then proceeded to punch in my order. When I got it, I noticed that there wasn't any cheese or gravy on the poutine and asked “there is no gravy on the poutine?” And the guy answered back that this dish had enough flavour. I was actually quite disappointed since I was really looking forward to an actual chicken shawarma poutine with gravy and cheese so it honestly had a pretty big impact on my day. But the food was delicious and afterwards one of the workers offered me a free Falafel and said that it was most delicious when eaten fresh and it definitely was. That small gesture really turned the experience around. The food was still good and not too salty, but if youre looking for a shawarma poutine then this is not the place for it. The meal that I got should have been appropriately called Chicken shawarma fries or chicken shawarma on fries“
“I was excited to hear about a place that serves Halifax style donairs so I was real anticpating this one. Now I am not disappointed but feel that are differences between the two I say this because I was born in Halifax, N.S. and donairs is #1 thing that people love. The difference is the thickness of the sauce, thickness of the pita and there is no lettuce added to a traditional donair just white onions and tomatoes to round it out. With these few changes to there donair you can say it would make it more authentic. These donairs are delicious and flavourful.“

“We went to Chef Harwash on our trip to Toronto in 2023. I've been putting off writing this review. My husband and I still talk about the wonderful food we had here. The chef/owners were so incredibly nice. The food was really well seasoned. We ordered the shawarma, the Damascus cheese w bread, and other dishes that now I can't remember. All of his sauces were incredible. Prices were affordable. This place is a gem! I don't know if we will ever come back to Toronto. It was a lovely city though. If we do, visiting Chef Harwash would be #1 on my list.“

It happens; but the reason why this is mentioned, is that later on we then had to beg for another glass of wine, which never arrived.
