“Food is delish. Prices are cheap to reasonable. Best part of this place is the constant entertainment of the owner talking to her daughter!“You either work hard or study hard! What you want?”“Work hard!!”“Ok you work really hard! Calculate this and learn your numbers!”“
“I’m not vegan, BUT the food was delicious. ?We got their recommended dishes and each one did not disappoint! The flavours were swimming and the portions were just right. The owner was also very friendly and hospitable, and I hope her restaurant continues to thrive for a long time. ?“
“We drove 5 hours to Toronto for a weekend break, arrived at the restaurant at 9:25pm. They showed their welcome greetings, settle everyone in a table with hot tea. Their hot and aroma pho soup was really a rejuvenation for us. They have a cleanest rest room, just like a home. Highly recommended.“
“This is a go-to for my partner and I. We have been going since we moved to the neighborhood and they are so lovely and accommodating. Plus, the food is amazing!Vegetarian options: Basically every dish has a veggie alternative!Dietary restrictions: Vegan friendly“
“This new place is fantastic.Excellent friendly and fast service. The House special Pho was delicious and flavourful, but the Pho Poutine was a step above all other restaurants in the area.Everything on the menu looks great, and can't wait to return to try them out.HIGH recommendation!!“
“88 Foods is my neighbourhood go to takeout. Super affordable, the portions are pretty big for the prices you pay. Dinner for two will run you about 20-25$. Daisy is a great and her service is on point! Def recommend the fried rice and the lemongrass chicken “
“Was pleasantly surprised from what this little gem had to offer. Been hearing great reviews about this place and had to give it a try. Ordered the beef carpaccio with a side order of rice. Amazing and flavourful topped with a light salad on top. Made to share, or as an entree, I had to take some home because it was so much. Loved the flavour of the sauce mix with the meat. Great to eat with the shrimp crackers that come along with the meal as well. I recommend! Taro(Ube) latte ... yum!!!! Honestly thoroughly enjoyed this iced latte. Was recommended by our server to try it out. Not too sweet, but just the right amount of sweetness and caffeine kick that you need at your lunch hour, and complete a sweet compliment to your meal! Overall, great quality, service. Amazing selection. I'm am definitely coming back to this small gem again. Would highly recommend!“
“I’ve came here since they opened, and still return whenever I’m in the neighborhood. Their beef pho has a certain sweetness I don’t find in other viet places. The staff were always nice and will explain what each food to you when you order. They will also check in on you to make sure all is well. When I do come though, I’d go for the specials. Currently, they are doing mix noodles which in my opinion are gigantic portions to eatThis restaurant is good for single or couples to drop by if dine in as it is a small shop. It is more a takeout spot. So don’t bring a family here to expect seating.Parking: The place is located at a strip mall beside a Popeyes, grocery store/salon. Parking space is limited.“
“We ate here late on a Wednesday, and it was bustling. I can see why! The food was very good. Notably, everything in the combo #2 (soup, grilled eggplant, two tofu dishes, kimchi, rice) had distinctly different flavors. The vermicelli was also very good and distinct from everything else. Portions are very generous. Food came out not very hot. I'm not sure if that's intentional.“
“I’ve been going to Little Banh Mi Shop for 2 summers or so and have been singing their praises to anyone who will listen. They make the best banh mi I have ever eaten. They care deeply about the quality of the food they put out, sourcing exactly the right bread and ingredients to make it right. It’s difficult for me to eat banh mi elsewhere as they always pale in comparison. You should go here.“
“Pho was so good! Must try order house pho with a side of spring rolls. Service was on point even during busy dinner hour rush. Honey garlic wings with a side of sticky rice was so yummy it was gone before I could snap a picture of it. So many other things to try. Highly recommend.“
“New and beautiful Việt Restaurant in your area. I visited twice and each time the experience was great. Love the cozy atmosphere and decor. About the food, I tried the special Beef Pho and all the side dishes. Pho was yummy, chicken wings and fresh rolls are recommended ❤️“
“Pho is good and portion size is above average. Chicken wings are made just right, one of the best ones in the city. Mango salad, rice and other dishes never disappoint either. They also have picked garlic and chilies on each table as a bonus.“
“I was visiting the People’s Pint to acquire some yummy dark beer and saw the food truck out front. Hmmmm.., I thought. Vietnamese tacos. Let’s check it out. My buddy and I got the fish taco and I got the Saigon chicken. Both had a ton of toppings, similar to what would be on a bánh mi , but in a soft taco shell. The sambal crema and hot sauce (not too hot BTW) perfectly complemented the flavours and textures of the tacos. The prices were more than fair at $11 and $13 because they were huge and had very high quality ingredients. Both were amazing, but I probably liked the chicken more just because it was heartier and the ratio of chicken to veg was more to my liking. The fish was incredible too. More fish would probably not have been cost effective, but fewer toppings might annoy customers who judge value on quantity/price rather than quality of ingredients. It’s a tight rope for any business, and there’s still a perception that street food should be cheap. I am privileged enough that I can choose to pay more for quality instead of always focusing on price. I’d rather eat out less often and pay a fair price for something I’ll really enjoy than to just go out because I don’t want to cook or just want something to “fill the hole”. These guys were great, the food quality and quantity was great, and the prices are very reasonable. My only quibble is that they should get Coke Zero or Diet Pepsi for folks who don’t love Diet Coke. I’ll be back. You should go!“
“Every staff member was very friendly and efficient. I got a warm welcome the second I stepped in. I ordered a chicken noodle soup which was very nice. The portion size shocked me a little. I ordered a regular but what I got was huge. I thought it was a mistake for a second. I enjoyed the broth. The price was also very reasonable. I will be returning to try other dishes!“
“My favourite cafe in the city!! Been coming to rustle and still since they opened, the staff is so friendly, and the food is great. I come here to study, on dates, for solo lunches— it’s the best. Shoutout to mics (the best barista) and the viet iced tea !!“
“Unbeatable Pho Quality: As a pho enthusiast, I'm always on the hunt for the perfect bowl, and I've finally found it here. The broth is the heart and soul of any good pho, and this place nails it every time. Paired with tender cuts of meat and expertly cooked noodles, every bite is a symphony of flavors. With reasonable prices and generous portions, this establishment has secured its spot as my go-to pho destination."“
“I asked for a dish that "makes this place different than the other pho places", and the waiter recommended the house special pho. It tasted good but not as unique as expected. I also had their rice roll which was decent.I asked the handsome guy in the store if he had any recommendations for something out of the ordinary, so he said he would recommend house special pho... After trying it, it really didn’t seem to be anything out of the ordinary ? But the taste is good, and the rice rolls are very different from Cantonese-style rice rolls; Some other snacks seem to be very unique. The lady in the store was very friendly, as if I was a regular customer who had been there many times. I will probably give it a try if I pass by nearby in the future.“
“The food is good, I tried pho and some fried rice and vermicelli dishes so far. The restaurant has the potential to give you a fine dining experience, but servants are a bit mechanical and the service definitely lacks any emotion for that type of experience. But the food is good, price is reasonable and it is usually busy.“
“Some of the best Pho in the city! So happy the pandemic didn’t impact their recipe. Perfect dark brown, clear and fragrant broth containing tender rare beef, noodles and I add veggies. This was what I’d been craving during lockdown. As usual Viet Thai Kitchen didn’t disappoint! 10/10 recommended!“
“Hole in the wall, family run shop. The bread was a perfect level of crusty/soft. The filling was generous and fresh. Prices are going up to $5.50 in March, but I'll definitely be back for more. Super excited that they sell nem chua (cured pork)!“
“Had a great time at Konia! Zoey, our server, was super friendly and knew her stuff. She skillfully walked me through the menu, taking the time to ask about my flavor preferences to ensure the perfect cocktail choice. The Nirvana's Sunset cocktail she suggested was a real standout. Also the tossed beef salad was a delightful pick, filled with fresh ingredients and fantastic flavors. Konia's service and food were top-notch. Can't wait to go back!“
“Was in the area running errands and dropped in with my husband. Glad we did! We had the beef pho and lemongrass chicken bento. Food was delicious and portions very generous. Lemongrass chicken was flavorful, spring rolls were delicious, and salad fresh. We probably could have shared the bento.Owner took the time to review menu items with us. He takes pride in the food he's serving.Ask for the spicy chili oil!Everything was great. We will definitely back!“
“Biggest pork spring rolls I have ever had at a Vietnamese restaurant, especially for the price. I find there's actually TOO much pork in the rolls and it could be a bit more balanced with the other veggies/noodles, tasty but could be a bit more flavourful. Fish sauce was okay. I haven't tried the pho yet but when I do I will come back with a proper review.“
“The best pho and Vietnamese cuisine in Toronto! I make sure to always stop here for a meal when I'm in Toronto. Sometimes I drive more than an hour JUST for the food ! The food is always fresh, delicious, and customer service on point! Their specialty rolls are sooooo good! I highly recommend this gem in downtown Toronto, you won't be disappointed!“
“This place used to be at the food court at Chartwell (brimley and huntingwood) Loved eating there before, but they closed about 8 years ago. Glad they reopened under Pho Street. This is my go-to place now for a quick bite. Delicious authentic vietnamese food.“
“Discovered this hidden gem of a Yogurt Drink store in Basil. Tried mango yogurt and It was absolutely fantastic! The flavors were on point, and I can't wait to come back for more. A must-try for yogurt enthusiasts! and for sure Chicken pad Thai is amazing as always!“
“This place is fantastic. I wanted the beef brisket curry and asked beforehand if it was "soft" and "not chewy," the gentleman, who is always super nice, went to the back to confirm and said it's "sort of soft", I took that gamble and it was super tasty and the perfect "soft" with no "chew."Highly recommend.Me and my partner come here quite often for takeout and dine in and it's always consistent, tasty and has great service.Oh yea, thanks for the surprise shrimp chips today ?“
“Mi Mi has been a staple of East Chinatown for many years, and though I hadn't been back in a while I can see why it remains a neighbourhood favourite. I tried Bun Rieu (rice noodles with crab+pork meatballs in a tomato soup) for the very first time, and I loved it. There was a great variety of toppings, and I especially loved the tofu puffs which soaked up the soup up very well. I do think the flavour of this broth could be divisive as it does have a somewhat pungent and sour taste (some might even describe it as fishy), and my boyfriend wasn't a fan but I absolutely loved it. The texture of the noodles were perfectly bouncy as well. The rice dish that my boyfriend got was also good, and had quite the generous amount of protein. Now I'm wondering why I haven't been to Mi Mi more often, and I'm looking forward to my next visit. CASH ONLY btw! (Though I believe they have an ATM on site)“
“The portion size was good, and ordering was easy. I ordered Satay steak. I am grateful that the employee offered some chicken because there wasn't enough steak left. I was satisfied with the taste of the food. The restaurant is neat and clean. I would go back.“
“Pho Anh Vu is a franchise and location matters. After tried a few of their other locations in the GTA, this location hits. I ordered a classic pho. Broth is flavourful, lots of meat, onion and cilantro. If they offered fresh noodles, it would definitely elevate the experience. I can’t complain with the dry rice noodles. I liked how it was thicker than noodles you get from typical pho restaurants.“
“Awesome place, when I moved here over a year ago this was the best possible find. They are consistent, clean, kind, and efficient. The food is always fresh and of great quality. I have never had a bad experience here, the only issue is that sometimes there's no seating because of how popular they are! Could not recommend more! It is definitely worth stopping in if you like Pho!“
“We went in at off-peak hours and basically had the whole place to ourselves. The restaurant was clean. We were served jasmine tea while browsing through their menu. Our fresh rolls were made fresh as the battered shrimp was still hot to touch when it arrived at our table. The stock in the chicken pho was amazing and well flavored. The beef stock for the rare beef pho was average but still very good (just didn't stand out from other shops). Portions are more than fair - the regular bowl has really large portions in my opinion. I would definitely come back and enjoy another bowl on a cold winter day.“
“Clean, calming atmosphere, server had amazing positive energy, food was tasty and fresh. Will be going back!Vegetarian options: A separate section on the menu for vegetarian options; offer vegan broth for pho.Dietary restrictions: Lots of vegetarian optionsParking: Free parking on street after 6pm“
“The food is always good here! The service is hit or miss and they still don't have washrooms available for customers, they've been "under construction" for months now.Vegetarian options: Tofu banh mi is pretty good and you can add habanero to it!“
“I eat here all the time with my mom and boyfriend on a religious basis. We love and recommend the rare beef/beef shank pho, and pork/chicken vermicelli with the spring rolls. I think the desserts are great! My mom likes the coconut dessert a lot. I like how they have various different condiments to choose from and I enjoy using the garlic and chilis instead of siracha.I enjoy how the staff remembers me, especially the girl in the hat with the ponytail! I never got her name but I wish I knew! After my mom didn't show up for a while due to injury, she asked me where she was so I appreciate that she cared. We used to go to the one across the plaza but this is my new fave spot to go to!“
“TLDR: Great service. Soup kinda cold.Cozy beer-friendly ramen-shop style pho place. Soup was cooling off fast when we got it, so I inhaled it like ramen. Don’t expect your usual hoisin sauce/sariracha on the side, but ask for their chili oil. They also blast city pop, which I am privy to.“
“Overall great light taste, aromatic broth, not loaded with seasonings. Like the simple menu so you are not loaded with options.Even though the flavour is authentic, it’s lacking a couple of factors:- Pho Hanoi should be loaded with onions but not here.- Authentic BBH also has port trotters and blood but not here. That said, doesn’t impact the flavour and would still come back again.“
“UPDATE: LA LA Bakeshop reached out immediately after I posted this review and offered to make things right with a new delivery. I received the replacement cake and am happy with how this issue was resolved. At the end of the day, I believe it's more the fault of the delivery company (Trexity) but I appreciate LA LA Bakeshop for taking responsibility.I paid to have my cake delivered through LA LA Bakeshop's website and it came all shifted around...Either the packaging or the delivery company needs to change. I'm definitely not amused as I paid over 50$ for this cake.“
“Visited as a group of 7 to celebrate my daughter’s birthday. Friendly helpful staff who went out their way to help. Food was beautiful. Everyone enjoyed the starters and mains, just all so fresh and tasty. Had forgotten how good it was, will defo be back. Amazing food served in a beautiful restaurant and lovely staff!“
“Cute small locally owned restaurant. The food was good and well thought out. The portions were quite sizable too! Unfortunately they only take cash or debit and encourage one bill per table. The service is also a bit slow and you often have to call the waiter over to get their attention. The seating was cute and fairly “
“I’ve been coming here for over 6 years. My partner took me here on one of our first dates. It’s been a hit for us ever since. The quality of service is amazing! The hospitality from the owners is an added bonus to the overall experience this restaurant offers. This establishment is forever grateful for any and all customers and it truly shows. My entire family loves coming here not only because of how loved we feel but also because we can bring friends for their first time and they feel the same way.The point of this review is to thank them for giving us an amazing place to come back to again and again! Xo“
“My family and I used to go here all the time, they have new owners now but they’ve kept the delicious flavours and authenticity alive. The Banh Cuon Dac Biet with the fried shrimp cupcake is so good, made so fresh. The Bun Mang Viet (bamboo and duck soup) is incredible. The sauce it comes with to dip the duck is full of flavour. One of my fave viet spots in Toronto.“
“Delicious Vietnamese cuisine with lots of selection. First time dining in at this hideaway restaurant. We tried the pan fried meat and seafood chow mein, grilled beef on French bread, baby clams with dried pancakes and Vietnamese sticky rice pudding with black eyed peas and coconut cream. It was sooo delicious! The restaurant opened from 4 pm to midnight on weekdays and 2 am on weekends. Their menu was full of delicious dishes. They also have a great selection of vegetarian dishes. The only downside was they only accept cash no cards:)Vegetarian options: Great selection of vegetarian dishes“
“This place is a hidden gem! I had such a lovely, delicious, soul warming time here. It is owned by the two sweetest people, she was practicing her calligraphy while we ate and it was beautiful. The food is beyond delicious and so well priced. This place deserves all the love in the world!“
“Delicious food, quick service, friendly staff and reasonable prices. The sandwiches are delicious. If you like beef and pork belly, these flavours definitely worth trying. Prices are very reasonable. The only disappointing thing is that this restaurant closes early.“
“While I wouldn't agree that this is the 'best in town,' they offer really good, reasonably priced sandwiches that are interesting for sure. The vegetarian is a bit richer and denser than most in downtown Toronto, probably due to the tomato sauce and cooked onions which are quite good. I'll amost always pick one up if I'm in the area.“
“Pho and banh mi were really flavorful. It's nice to see real authentic Viet food in a food court. I only order pho if it has the right smell upon entering the establishment. If it doesn't have the right smell, I'll leave the restaurant before ordering ????Also, the staff were super friendly and kind. Would definitely go again!“
“My gf wanted to try this place as Pho Vietnam nearby according to her has dropped its standards tremendously and the new Pho Anh Vu is also packed out the wazoo from all the grand opening hype.We visited for a bite to eat on Christmas Eve. On google, it said this place would close at 6pm on Christmas Eve but they were evidently operating under normal business hours cuz we saw tons of ppl streaming in and out after 6.Anyways, the interior is actually quite spacious and the wooden vibe is nice. It looked very bright along with all the plants.I ordered P9 which is the rare beef + beef rib pho while my gf ordered P7 which is pho w/ rare beef, brisket, tendon & tripe.Beef rib pho: For $22.99 I was quite satisfied. I thought long and hard about how it stacks up to my GOAT Pho Anh Vu and it does not disappoint at all. Pho Anh Vu you're paying $25.99 (at the time of this review), for a larger plate of meat cuts and toppings on the side with 1 beef rib. Over here at Dear Saigon, you just get one side plate of ribeye but you get 2 beef ribs as opposed to 1. It's a tough call. I think in terms of value I'd say it's equal value because of all the meat attached to that extra beef rib. Even though you're getting less meat on the side, you're also paying $3 less. But if you're asking me which pho makes me feel more full I'd have to say the Pho Anh Vu one does.Pho w/ rare beef, brisket, tendon & tripe: My gf really liked her pho. She said the broth was very beefy and clean. Her old go-to place, Pho Vietnam two blocks over, apparently has very watery broth now and she said the service is bad as well which means it's out of her rotation playlist. She also said for the value (price and quantity) she feels quite ripped off at Pho Vietnam as well. There's no bowl sizes at Dear Saigon but she said this bowl was relative to an L or XL at Pho Vietnam.Overall we were happy with this place. I would come back again if I was in the area and Pho Anh Vu was packed!“
“Food is delicious. The Pho and the Bun are great. Thai food selection is also good - curry and chicken wings are very tasty. Great service from friendly staff, food comes fast and hot. Also very reasonably priced. Dinner for four with milkshakes under $50“
