Based on my late night pho dac biet take-out I just finished enjoying, this restaurant is legit and classic. It reminds me of my childhood 🥹. When I walked in, there were 3 generations present - and this was beautiful to see.

I'm Vietnamese-Canadian, my parents are from Saigon, Vietnam. So, I've probably had more than 500 bowls of homemade pho in my lifetime so far 🤣. I don't normally review restaurants until I dine-in because usually take-out/pick up isn't nearly as good - but this was wonderful:

The pho dac biet was good: The broth has that perfect very slight sweetness and was nice and clear & clean, the bò viên (beef meat balls) are handmade (which most places in Toronto don't do), and you get all the proper herbs and fixens you're supposed to get (which not a lot of Toronto spots do with this level of detail). These details alone make whatever I payed for the bowl more than worth it.

I recommend supporting and enjoying this small, local, hard-working family-run restaurant.“

Mango milkshake tasted delightful and very creamy. Ambience is nice and warm, and servers are very friendly.“

“This is my favourite place! I always order P10 - Vegan Pho and the vegan crispy spring rolls. The food is always delicious. The staff are friendly. I order from Uber eats often as well and it's the same quality, lots of veggies/tofu and noodles.“

“We went to nang Saigon before catching a showing at hot docs, and it was the best decision we could have made. We had the weekend rib pho special and it was so tasty--and the food was ready almost as soon as we ordered it! The staff was very friendly, and the coconut coffee was perfectly refreshing.“

Had the pleasure of popping in for a quick lunch today and they still have the best broth in the city. My mom says my hands shake when I’m excited for super tasty food and my hands are not steady!“

But the staff absolutely sucks the guy with the glasses is slow they don’t come up to you they just sit there you have to ask so many times for water I asked 6 times for a can of Coke I had to go and just get it my self from the fridge it’s absolutely ridiculous. Terrible service.“

“Phenomenal pho and steamed rice noodle rolls. The broth was super flavourful and perfectly seasoned. The noodles were cooked well and not mushy. The steamed rolls were made from scratch and a delicious dish to share.

Everything came literally 2 mins after I ordered.

“The pho broth was not oily. But it felt thin.
The meat in the soup was ok, not great. You know what you are getting.
The iced coffee 5 stars. Some places just dump the ingredients in, this was tasted measured. And it was sublime.
I used to go all the time, but lately it just feels mailed in. Still better than average, but not by much.“

“Everything is great from this place even portions are surprisingly huge, without sacrificing quality of the food. I love their decorations, my only complaint is the lack of space. I do understand theyre busy and want to seat as many people as possible, but wow people pass by 3-4 inches away from your food.

“The food was fresh and delicious! We went there right at the opening and they were warm and kind. The Pho beef was tender and not chewy whatsoever. You can tell that the people who work there put a lot of effort into the flavor and atmosphere! The fresh spring rolls were delicious. And the calamari was light and airy yet hearty and delicious. “Very good and competitively priced for the area. The rice is very good and I'm typically more of a noddles guy. Not much seating inside-- mostly a takeout spot. The tip prompts are there but at least they start at a more reasonable percentage than most places.“

I kind of walked in with very low expectations and thought this was such a random location for a banh mi store. I always go for the OG so I ordered the assorted sandwich and thought it was really good as well as being reasonably priced ($7 w tax)

“This congee is so legit. The soy egg was perfectly jammy. I wish I could order extra extra mustard greens. Not because it was skimpy, but because I want more. I prefer my cucumber salad in long slices and not thick coins, but can’t complain too much because the food was flavorful and fresh!“

“Wonderful shop for Banh Mi sandwiches and Shrimp Spring Rolls. We tried the BBQ pork, Chicken & Assorted Bahn mi with flavorful fillings. Nice bun with slight crunch; compared to other places that use buns with hard exterior. Rice rolls (shrimp and pork) well prepared. Excellent food overall. “Some of the best Pho in the city! So happy the pandemic didn’t impact their recipe. Perfect dark brown, clear and fragrant broth containing tender rare beef, noodles and I add veggies. This was what I’d been craving during lockdown. As usual Viet Thai Kitchen didn’t disappoint! 10/10 recommended!“

Whereas the previous bowl brought Northern-style flavours, this rendition brings an unconventional twist with lemongrass dominating the broth’s flavour. While aromatic and clean, it strays away from the typical savory beef base that one typically expects. That said, it offers a lighter profile, with thin rice noodles that envelop your mouth in a warm hug, with a wide variety of beef toppings. To freshen things up, the golden-fried grouper fillets are tossed with fragrant dill and scallion oil, capturing the famed Chả Cá Lã Vọng spirit. The fish is tender inside but slightly dried on the thinner edges, with a salty punch that is toned down with a sweet fish sauce and bouncy rice vermicelli. Topped with peanuts, fried shallots, and herbs, it makes for an apt substitute for my longing for Vietnamese food.“

“Yesterday we had one of the best meal in this city in a long time in the city at this restaurant. We were hungry after a great candlelight concert at the nearby Metropolitan Church venue and we decided to try this place. Blown away by the food. You know the food is good when you see it. We decided to start with a Vietnamese pancake. Before even trying the food I was immediately impressed by the look and we knew the food was made by an extremely talented chef. The way the carrots were cut into beautiful threads. After trying the pancake I was seeing stars in my head. The main course that followed did not disappoint either with a grilled and smoked pork chop with a chicken breast and a delicious Chicken pho. Wow. Will come back again for sure. “It's really affordable and high-quality pho, at a quieter place in the Scarbs. The cashier and cooks there are really quick to order and serve, despite the crowds and there's also sauces and garnish on the side for you to add to your dish.
There was ample seating too, when we visited on a weekday evening.

“My partner and I come here quite often and it's the best! The staff are extremely kind and attentive. The dishes have more flavour than 90% of the places we have had pho at too.
Many different options to choose from on their menu, and the r&b music is always great to listen to while eating!

“I ordered the grilled pork vermicelli and spring roll (Bun Thit Nuong Cha Gio) and it was one of the best I’ve had in awhile! The spring roll was delicious and the dish itself was great! The lady who served me was very friendly, I’ll definitely come back next time I visit Toronto!“

“We saw a server literally wipe leftover pho off the table directly onto the floor. It wasn’t just a few noodles , there were several large clumps left scattered around the floor. The server then walked away, and no one ever came back to clean it up. When the next customers arrived, they ended up stepping on the pho clump on the floor, and there were noodles left on the seats as well. It was honestly quite shocking to see, and it made me feel that the staff may need better training.

The food itself was good. The banh mi bread was very crispy and fresh, not soggy at all, and the grilled meat was flavorful. We enjoyed the food, but really hope they improve their sanitation practices“

“Reviews don't lie. I see why Little Banh Mi Shop continues to gain 5 stars review. A small shop along the sidewalk of busy downtown Dundas Street that reminds me of small food shops in Vietnam. Food are prepared fresh for each order. Staff was so friendly and accommodating with order modifications. The grilled pork banh mi was definitely one of the best I have bad. The flavor was so to die for, not too salty, nor too bland. Meat wasn't too fatty as I imagined from other pork banh mi I had in the past at other banh mi shop. Portion was so filling too. Will be a regular visit whenever I am in the area.“
