“On our way to the airport, decided to stop for a bite to eat.Don't let the outdoor appearance dissuade you from eating here.My sister, husband and I, shared a dish and some spring rolls, and the food was amazing! We are seniors and light eaters, but I highly recommend this place. Clean and comfortable!“
“This is a go-to for my partner and I. We have been going since we moved to the neighborhood and they are so lovely and accommodating. Plus, the food is amazing!Vegetarian options: Basically every dish has a veggie alternative!Dietary restrictions: Vegan friendly“
“This new place is fantastic.Excellent friendly and fast service. The House special Pho was delicious and flavourful, but the Pho Poutine was a step above all other restaurants in the area.Everything on the menu looks great, and can't wait to return to try them out.HIGH recommendation!!“
“We drove 5 hours to Toronto for a weekend break, arrived at the restaurant at 9:25pm. They showed their welcome greetings, settle everyone in a table with hot tea. Their hot and aroma pho soup was really a rejuvenation for us. They have a cleanest rest room, just like a home. Highly recommended.“
“Step into a world of tantalizing flavors at this vegan Vietnamese gem, where Vicky's warm hospitality elevates the dining experience. From savory pho to mouthwatering banh mi, every dish bursts with authenticity and plant-based goodness. Don't miss out on this culinary adventure – it's a must-try for vegans and foodies alike!“
“88 Foods is my neighbourhood go to takeout. Super affordable, the portions are pretty big for the prices you pay. Dinner for two will run you about 20-25$. Daisy is a great and her service is on point! Def recommend the fried rice and the lemongrass chicken “
“Was pleasantly surprised from what this little gem had to offer. Been hearing great reviews about this place and had to give it a try. Ordered the beef carpaccio with a side order of rice. Amazing and flavourful topped with a light salad on top. Made to share, or as an entree, I had to take some home because it was so much. Loved the flavour of the sauce mix with the meat. Great to eat with the shrimp crackers that come along with the meal as well. I recommend! Taro(Ube) latte ... yum!!!! Honestly thoroughly enjoyed this iced latte. Was recommended by our server to try it out. Not too sweet, but just the right amount of sweetness and caffeine kick that you need at your lunch hour, and complete a sweet compliment to your meal! Overall, great quality, service. Amazing selection. I'm am definitely coming back to this small gem again. Would highly recommend!“
“I’ve came here since they opened, and still return whenever I’m in the neighborhood. Their beef pho has a certain sweetness I don’t find in other viet places. The staff were always nice and will explain what each food to you when you order. They will also check in on you to make sure all is well. When I do come though, I’d go for the specials. Currently, they are doing mix noodles which in my opinion are gigantic portions to eatThis restaurant is good for single or couples to drop by if dine in as it is a small shop. It is more a takeout spot. So don’t bring a family here to expect seating.Parking: The place is located at a strip mall beside a Popeyes, grocery store/salon. Parking space is limited.“
“I’ve been going to Little Banh Mi Shop for 2 summers or so and have been singing their praises to anyone who will listen. They make the best banh mi I have ever eaten. They care deeply about the quality of the food they put out, sourcing exactly the right bread and ingredients to make it right. It’s difficult for me to eat banh mi elsewhere as they always pale in comparison. You should go here.“
“New and beautiful Việt Restaurant in your area. I visited twice and each time the experience was great. Love the cozy atmosphere and decor. About the food, I tried the special Beef Pho and all the side dishes. Pho was yummy, chicken wings and fresh rolls are recommended ❤️“
“We ate here late on a Wednesday, and it was bustling. I can see why! The food was very good. Notably, everything in the combo #2 (soup, grilled eggplant, two tofu dishes, kimchi, rice) had distinctly different flavors. The vermicelli was also very good and distinct from everything else. Portions are very generous. Food came out not very hot. I'm not sure if that's intentional.“
“Every staff member was very friendly and efficient. I got a warm welcome the second I stepped in. I ordered a chicken noodle soup which was very nice. The portion size shocked me a little. I ordered a regular but what I got was huge. I thought it was a mistake for a second. I enjoyed the broth. The price was also very reasonable. I will be returning to try other dishes!“
“Pho is good and portion size is above average. Chicken wings are made just right, one of the best ones in the city. Mango salad, rice and other dishes never disappoint either. They also have picked garlic and chilies on each table as a bonus.“
“My fam and I ordered the Pho & Bun Bo Hue. Pho was great and was generous w the meat portion; also had tendon and a meatball which is supposed to come w it, but other places tend to leave those out, so it was nice to see it was added. The Bun Bo Hue was fine, it was generous as well on portion size, only downfall was the broth was a bit underwhelming. Although it did still taste authentic, the broth could definitely use some more flavor! Location is open until midnight, which is good convenience for those who are having a later dinner or late night grub. The space is quite tight inside and can feel a bit cramped if it's a full house. Parking is ample and available in the lot and location is easy to find! Staff was quick, attentive, and friendly. We also didn't have to wait too long for the food, which was great. There is no automatic gratuity, so it's your discretion for tip value.“
“My favourite pho restaurant, the rare beef noodle soup is the best I ever had. The owner is incredibly nice and the place looks amazing. The broken rice with grilled pork chop, grilled chicken and fried egg was also delicious. It makes perfect sense why they have so many 5 star reviews. Highly recommend and worth the drive from Mississauga. Thank you again.“
“Usually skeptical about highly rated pho places after a bad experience at a famous joint that opened in Etobicoke...you can probably figure that one out. When I saw sweetness in the soup I was thinking I probably won't like it.The other reviews aren't wrong there is a sweetness to the soup. But it works and it's actually very delicious and not overwhelming like the other places.Definitely recommended will try sate and bone marrow next time.“
“This is one of those cafes that ticks all the boxes! Tasty coffee, affordable, great ambience to sit and work, the friendliest staff I’ve ever met, great food!!! I’m vegetarian and I love their gochujang tofu and mushroom bahn mi! Their cookies and pastries are absolutely amazing! Try the pandan cookie it’s lovely! I’m a student and I love working here! Just good things to say, I’ve been visiting for over a year now.“
“I asked for a dish that "makes this place different than the other pho places", and the waiter recommended the house special pho. It tasted good but not as unique as expected. I also had their rice roll which was decent.I asked the handsome guy in the store if he had any recommendations for something out of the ordinary, so he said he would recommend house special pho... After trying it, it really didn’t seem to be anything out of the ordinary ? But the taste is good, and the rice rolls are very different from Cantonese-style rice rolls; Some other snacks seem to be very unique. The lady in the store was very friendly, as if I was a regular customer who had been there many times. I will probably give it a try if I pass by nearby in the future.“
“Unbeatable Pho Quality: As a pho enthusiast, I'm always on the hunt for the perfect bowl, and I've finally found it here. The broth is the heart and soul of any good pho, and this place nails it every time. Paired with tender cuts of meat and expertly cooked noodles, every bite is a symphony of flavors. With reasonable prices and generous portions, this establishment has secured its spot as my go-to pho destination."“
“The food is good, I tried pho and some fried rice and vermicelli dishes so far. The restaurant has the potential to give you a fine dining experience, but servants are a bit mechanical and the service definitely lacks any emotion for that type of experience. But the food is good, price is reasonable and it is usually busy.“
“Super cute Vietnamese spot in an unassuming plaza. My lemongrass chicken vermicelli bowl had a generous amount of well-seasoned grilled chicken thigh, and a good balance of vermicelli and fresh veggies. Iced coffee with condensed milk was a bit on the sweet side, but good and strong just like I like it. Great service, too!“
“Hole in the wall, family run shop. The bread was a perfect level of crusty/soft. The filling was generous and fresh. Prices are going up to $5.50 in March, but I'll definitely be back for more. Super excited that they sell nem chua (cured pork)!“
“This is a to-go banh mi shop only. You order outside through a small sliding window. The bread was imperfect looking but the ingredients made up for it. I ordered the dried shredded pork for only $4.50. What a steal! It has just the right amount of filling and it was really tasty.“
“friendly small business shop with the best vegan vietnamese food i’ve ever tasted in town, sizes were generously large for cheap prices too - best dish was hands down their house special sandwich w/ lots of mock meat, wouldn’t skip this on your visit as a side meal“
“10/10, soooo flippin’ good across the board! My girlfriend and I were in the west end shopping all day and randomly stumbled on this place because we were starving and it was unreaaal. Definitely will be back! Quick and super tasty, thank-you so much again!!“
“I often visit the Scarborough restaurant but have discovered the Vaughan location. Ocean is the very kind gentleman that serves us and our service, food and experience have only been positive!!! Thank you Ocean for always going above and beyond in making your customers happy!!!“
“Had a great time at Konia! Zoey, our server, was super friendly and knew her stuff. She skillfully walked me through the menu, taking the time to ask about my flavor preferences to ensure the perfect cocktail choice. The Nirvana's Sunset cocktail she suggested was a real standout. Also the tossed beef salad was a delightful pick, filled with fresh ingredients and fantastic flavors. Konia's service and food were top-notch. Can't wait to go back!“
“Great small shop on the corner entrance plaza. Friendly staff, clean and neat store. Their pho is just right, their bun bo hue is different compared to other stores in terms of the extra meats they offer (I really enjoy it), their chicken vermicelli bowl came with dark meat too, thei squid patties were perfectly seasoned. One of my favourite things they offer is the tea, very unique and unlike any pho store I've been to. It's floral, sweet, refreshing, and light. Will most definitely be coming back to support this local business.“
“The washrooms here are great. Lots of running water. The food is also fantastic! They provide a jug of tea.The service is great. The meat in the soup is nice and hearty. The portion sizes are large..for a big water , i couldn't finish it all even though it was so yummy.Would come here again. The establishment only takes cash or debit . Don't forget to bring those.“
“WOW. JUST WOW. Where do i even begin. 11/10 easily. The food is amazing, so amazing to the point where i feel tears run down my face every time I eat there. The food is ALWAYS fresh and the portion sizes are amazing for the price. You can tell that the food is made with a lot of thought and love. On top of having great food the customer service is extremely good, the employees are extremely friendly and kind. 11/10. HIGHLY RECOMMEND“
“I really loved the sip sip yogurt in this placeFood : the drink was refreshing and delicious with small pieces of the fruit you choose very tasty. There was an offer, we got 2 for almost the price of oneService : the service was excellent and quick nothing wrong about itAtmosphere: a very nice place with a view on the street if you want to eat insideHighly recommended for drink lovers“
“First time trying this spot. Had a late night pho craving and they definitely delivered. I had the house special pho and the broth was very beefy and flavourful. Having oxtail and chicken in my pho was a new experience but definitely added a uniqueness to the dish. Definitely will be adding this to my go to pho spots.“
“Family run business that makes delicious authentic Vietnamese food without breaking the bank. This is not a place you go to for beautiful atmosphere/vibes but it has its charm. The portions are great! The fresh rolls and spring rolls in particular are massive!Growing up in a Vietnamese household meant that I got spoiled with the best pho all the time. I was also in Vietnam earlier this year and can attest that this place has the best pho broth I have tried. The Pho broth isn't clear so you know its not watered down and done properly. Its super flavourful. We also tried the breakfast here. Nothing fancy. But you can get a whole breakfast (toast, eggs, sausage/bacon, big homefries, with coffee for $12)! That's almost unheard of in Toronto!I hear their homemade burgers are amazing--have yet to try.Great quality food, portions, and price. Please support this place!“
“The best pho and Vietnamese cuisine in Toronto! I make sure to always stop here for a meal when I'm in Toronto. Sometimes I drive more than an hour JUST for the food ! The food is always fresh, delicious, and customer service on point! Their specialty rolls are sooooo good! I highly recommend this gem in downtown Toronto, you won't be disappointed!“
“Discovered this hidden gem of a Yogurt Drink store in Basil. Tried mango yogurt and It was absolutely fantastic! The flavors were on point, and I can't wait to come back for more. A must-try for yogurt enthusiasts! and for sure Chicken pad Thai is amazing as always!“
“Mi Mi has been a staple of East Chinatown for many years, and though I hadn't been back in a while I can see why it remains a neighbourhood favourite. I tried Bun Rieu (rice noodles with crab+pork meatballs in a tomato soup) for the very first time, and I loved it. There was a great variety of toppings, and I especially loved the tofu puffs which soaked up the soup up very well. I do think the flavour of this broth could be divisive as it does have a somewhat pungent and sour taste (some might even describe it as fishy), and my boyfriend wasn't a fan but I absolutely loved it. The texture of the noodles were perfectly bouncy as well. The rice dish that my boyfriend got was also good, and had quite the generous amount of protein. Now I'm wondering why I haven't been to Mi Mi more often, and I'm looking forward to my next visit. CASH ONLY btw! (Though I believe they have an ATM on site)“
“Great appetizers! March 23/24- we came a bit more west to here and it didn’t disappoint! Most of my relatives came here for dinner and the food and service was an A but the lively atmosphere was an A+! The area was very clean and the price was fantastic!“
“Look at what we found at this store. I am now in trouble with my wife because she said they have everything that she loves. So far the beef jerky (khô bò) and Airdrie macaroni are delicious ?.Bonus: the lady and I believe her boss is very kind and nice“
“The portion size was good, and ordering was easy. I ordered Satay steak. I am grateful that the employee offered some chicken because there wasn't enough steak left. I was satisfied with the taste of the food. The restaurant is neat and clean. I would go back.“
“Since I started going here a few months ago, I have never been let down. I can always question the kind staff about the selections on the menu. In my humble opinion, Khoa is the go-to server because of his timely, proper, and fast service. The price is fair considering the quality of the food. Will definitely come back here.“
“We went in at off-peak hours and basically had the whole place to ourselves. The restaurant was clean. We were served jasmine tea while browsing through their menu. Our fresh rolls were made fresh as the battered shrimp was still hot to touch when it arrived at our table. The stock in the chicken pho was amazing and well flavored. The beef stock for the rare beef pho was average but still very good (just didn't stand out from other shops). Portions are more than fair - the regular bowl has really large portions in my opinion. I would definitely come back and enjoy another bowl on a cold winter day.“
“Really good pho that hits the spot, delicious and rich broth and piping hot. The amount of meat was adequate, but I can see why people would want more. A few more pieces would have been nice. We liked the new menu items. The Bun Cha HaNoi was really delicious, great charcoal taste, and fresh greens. I like that they have items that other restaurants don’t typically have. Prices are fair, and service is fast & accurate. I find the atmosphere comfortable, I actually like the music they play, classic karaoke hits.“
“Clean, calming atmosphere, server had amazing positive energy, food was tasty and fresh. Will be going back!Vegetarian options: A separate section on the menu for vegetarian options; offer vegan broth for pho.Dietary restrictions: Lots of vegetarian optionsParking: Free parking on street after 6pm“
“Awesome place, when I moved here over a year ago this was the best possible find. They are consistent, clean, kind, and efficient. The food is always fresh and of great quality. I have never had a bad experience here, the only issue is that sometimes there's no seating because of how popular they are! Could not recommend more! It is definitely worth stopping in if you like Pho!“
“Delicious food and good service. Plating is of high quality, the atmosphere of the place is clean, organized, warm and welcoming, as well as comfortable seating. Definitely recommend this place.EDIT (JULY 2022): I'm a long-time regular customer ever since the restaurant opened its doors and this place is still hands-down the only pho store that I TRUST with the broth. Everything above from my previous review remains true, although the service could be better though. Faster service would do, but other than that, Pho Real is truly "real" with its authentic pho broth, that is incomparable to any other pho restaurants within the GTA. This is also coming from a Vietnamese :)“
“This is such a gem of a place. The best banh mi I've ever had! I'm supposed to be on a bread free diet, but this is the exception, I can't stop coming back! The balance of ingredients is perfect and delicious, the grilled pork is perfectly seasoned, and the texture is sooooo good. The staff here are total sweethearts, they take a lot of pride in their food & service.Do yourself a favor and get the Banh mi with grilled pork!“
“I stumbled upon a hidden gem! There's something truly special about discovering those cozy, hole-in-the-wall spots where you can taste the love and tradition in every bite. Grandpa and grandma cooking often holds the secrets to unforgettable flavors and comfort food at its finest. Enjoy the journey through deliciousness!“
“I grew up here in this China Town, and my parents knew some people here since they use to work in this area, I seen some reviews before making mine and I see that this is a hidden gem, and honestly IT IS it’s so underground but prices and service is amazing, I got their ice coffee or Vietnamese coffee and it was great I want to see their business to be successful which I’m pretty sure it is but I love to see it become an amazing well known store, the owner was really friendly and energetic and I think he remembers me when I was a kid before too which gave me such a warm feeling. When it comes to rating I don’t really care how inside the store looks, because the drinks and food speaks for themselves and with that price, what else can you ask for.“
“A small hole in the wall place. The owners are so friendly, the place is never too busy and the food, oh my gosh it’s delicious. It’s well prepared and it’s big portions. Such a great place. If you’re in the area, I highly recommend!“
“I was visiting the People’s Pint to acquire some yummy dark beer and saw the food truck out front. Hmmmm.., I thought. Vietnamese tacos. Let’s check it out. My buddy and I got the fish taco and I got the Saigon chicken. Both had a ton of toppings, similar to what would be on a bánh mi , but in a soft taco shell. The sambal crema and hot sauce (not too hot BTW) perfectly complemented the flavours and textures of the tacos. The prices were more than fair at $11 and $13 because they were huge and had very high quality ingredients. Both were amazing, but I probably liked the chicken more just because it was heartier and the ratio of chicken to veg was more to my liking. The fish was incredible too. More fish would probably not have been cost effective, but fewer toppings might annoy customers who judge value on quantity/price rather than quality of ingredients. It’s a tight rope for any business, and there’s still a perception that street food should be cheap. I am privileged enough that I can choose to pay more for quality instead of always focusing on price. I’d rather eat out less often and pay a fair price for something I’ll really enjoy than to just go out because I don’t want to cook or just want something to “fill the hole”. These guys were great, the food quality and quantity was great, and the prices are very reasonable. My only quibble is that they should get Coke Zero or Diet Pepsi for folks who don’t love Diet Coke. I’ll be back. You should go!“
