I think this is the best fish and chips in Toronto. Food and services are consistent. The crust is crispy and thin. It attracts an early older crowd.

This really feels like one of the few authentic fish and chips spots in Toronto. The freshly fried fish was absolutely top-notch — super crispy and full of flavor. I ordered mine with a salad instead of fries, and personally, I found it much lighter and even more enjoyable that way. The crispiness was seriously next level!

Dropped by this fish and chips joint recently and honestly, it was a pretty decent experience. The halibut and haddock were both nicely portioned – the halibut was about 4oz, super meaty, while the 6oz haddock was flaky and tasty. Both came with a really satisfying crispiness that hit the spot.

The chips were on point too – crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, just the way you’d want them. Everything was served piping hot, which is always a win in my books.

Tried the homemade Key Lime pie for dessert. It was definitely limey and rich, but just a tad too sweet for our taste. The hot gravy, though? Delicious – comforting and flavorful.

Service was consistently good throughout. Shoutout to Ashley, who took care of us with a big smile and a super friendly vibe. She made us feel welcome and relaxed.

The interior is quite eye-catching – quirky and fun. It wasn’t busy when we went (off-peak hours), so the place felt a little empty, but I can imagine it has a nice buzz when it fills up.

Bonus points for having their own parking lot on Lea Ave – makes life a lot easier in that area.

Only downside? The price. Price feels a bit steep for fish and chips unless the food is truly next level. Still, it’s a chill spot to hang with friends or family, and you won’t leave hungry.

Hailibut being the pricey fish isn't the point of the review. The price point goes for the whole menu compared to other fish & chips joints and the value for money that we got from this joint.
I would gladly pay even more for Hailibut if the dish is extraordinary compared to other joints.

Absolutely loved this spot! The fish was perfectly crispy, not oily at all, and tasted super fresh, cooked just right. The clam chowder was incredibly rich and flavourful, truly a standout dish. Portion sizes were generous but not too much, which made the whole meal feel just right. The atmosphere was cozy and relaxed, and the staff were genuinely kind and personable, which really added to the whole experience. Definitely a place I’d come back to for comforting, quality food done right!

The beat fish and chips I've ever had ! So light doesn't feel greasy and heavy. Amazing

Horrible experience. I came in with my daughter (8) today to split a halibut and caesar. The caesar had an extra fee to upgrade which we agreed to pay. The caesar itself was terrible. It was just lettuce with a thin tasteless coat of dressing. I sent it back and asked for chips instead. When the bill came we were charged for both. Our server (who was amazing) apologized and informed us the manager insisted we have to pay for both the upgrade charge on the caesar (which we sent back) and the chips. Our server went back twice to advocate for us but the manager refused both times. Servers were great, food was decent but the manager, she was just terrible. I don't often return food but when I have I've never been charged for the original dish AND the replacement. We've eaten here a number of times in the past but we won't be returning. Take your money somewhere that treats you better.

Wow! This place is such a great neighbourhood spot, I can see why there are so many glowing reviews. It does get busy, so get there earlier. There are some parking spots available if you're lucky.

Tip: I overheard someone get their chips well done. If only I had known...

The chowder is nice and creamy. The fish is crispy and light and they clearly use fresh oil because it tastes fresh and doesn't have much of an oily/greasy aftertaste. The cod cheeks are delectable. The coleslaw is a bit of the lighter end, but maybe I'm too used to the goopy soupy mess that is KFC's. Caesar salad is also a bit light.

And you cannot leave without trying the key lime pie! Another table egged me on to get it and I am forever grateful. The key lime pie is such a good, deep blend of the tartness, sour, and a bit of sweet. The crumble is also great. It's the perfect complement for fish and chips.

The service is phenomenal. They're so great and I could see the owner walking around chatting with some of the regulars.

I will definitely be coming back, especially to try that apple crisp.

Came here because I had heard this was the best fish and chips place in the city and it did not disappoint. It's a small, cozy restaurant that's a ten minute walk south of Eglinton and Laird.

I ordered halibut and chips and my friend ordered cod and chips. We both agreed that the batter was very light but crispy and flavourful and the food was not overly greasy or heavy. The oil also tasted fresh (not like at other places where things are fried in old oil which eventually imparts a bitterness into the food). I also ordered gravy for my meal and it was tasty (slightly thickened with all the flavours of a proper gravy). The meal also came with some coleslaw (I'm not really a coleslaw person but it was a good balance to the fried fish and the chips and I enjoyed it).

The halibut and chips were about $25 which is a bit pricey in comparison to other places but it was a very solid meal (everything was good) and it's clear that attention and quality matter at this restaurant.

Service was friendly and attentive.

For dessert, I had their housemade key lime pie (nice but not amazing) and my friend had the housemade apple crumble with custard and she said it was delicious.

Would definitely come back for the fish and chips again, and to try other things on the menu.
