Craving sushi for dinner and found this take out spot. The restaurant looks nice and smells like it has good sushi, so I decided to try a few things.The Maki platter B seems to feature a different selection of rolls over time, but I had California roll, yam tempura roll, spicy salmon roll, salmon avocado roll, mad crab roll, double shrimp roll and dynamite roll. The first 4 rolls are common among sushi restaurants so I will not be reviewing those here. The rice is pretty well done, neither too sweet or sour.My favourite is the mad crab roll is a shrimp tempura roll with shredded imitation crab and spicy mayo on top. The sauce does not overpower the rest of the components. The shredded crab adds sweetness to the otherwise simply crunchy roll.Double shrimp is a close second, with two shrimp tempura in the middle and 1 cooked shrimp with torched mayo on top. This is such an excellent idea to add more shrimp flavour into the maki.Not on the menu online, is the zenku udon, a simple dashi broth udon with fish cake and deep fried tofu pocket. This is not simply a udon, but a warm flavourful delight that you can't easily find around town. I highly recommend ordering that to eat with sushi.Lastly, the highlight of the meal is their spicy salmon yubu tart. It is a recently popularized way of enjoying a rice ball adjacent product. The spicy salmon is enhanced by small bits of onion and green onion mixed together. The sweet tofu skin exterior rounds out the general flavour of the rice ball, such that soy sauce or wasabi are not necessary.I am very surprised by the quality of the food and can't wait to be back to try bento, donburi and tempura when I'm in the neighborhood. This is an excellent take out sushi restaurant that I would highly recommend to friends.

I ended up ordering 3 days in a row and still craving !! Theyre not in the photo but the corn ribs and sauce are definitely one of my favorite appetizers.Their yubu tarts = MUST TRY, and if you are struggling to decide on the menu, you can’t go wrong with their platter! They are so fresh and well put together, they dont fall apart and portion is big. Staff are very welcoming and patient, Im returning to try their udon soon!
We were in anime costumes coming straight from Comicon, and they treated us like royalty! They even put our theme music on while we ate. Chef Ryan was amazing. Best Miso soup ever!! The sushi and dumplings were also amazing!!

I recently visited again since their closure during summer and everything has changed.I tried their new menus. Soft shell crab bisque udon and yubu tarts.They are awesome! Very unique and crazy good!old review:Very delicious! rice was perfectly seasoned. We'll definitely come back.

I rarely write reviews but the food was truly so unique, I wanted to share this gem in the neighbourhood.Trust me, try the chirashi zushi, futomaki roll, spicy salmon tart yubu.I always order a small sashimi tray when I get sushi, it tells me the quality of ingredients at the restaurant.The sashimi I tried here was fresh, the texture was crisp and had body as good sashimi should.My husband is picky, and he said it was pleasant.The seasonal menu featured soft shell bisque udon, i did not expect such a portion and an entire soft shell crab to come with it at a price of $22.It was rich and umami, it reminds me of a bisque pasta with seafood flavours.Overall, Zenku’s become our go-to for take out.Vegetarian options: Wide menu full of vegan and vegetarian options.Dietary restrictions: Accommodated all allergies and dietary restrictions.Kid-friendliness: Classic rolls and appetizer portions are kid-friendly. Flavour profiles are not so extreme for a young child to enjoy.

I’ve worked at many different sushi places, and I can promise this is one of the best sushi place in Toronto!Chef Ryan and Jinho offer great service as the friendly faces behind the counter at this compact sushi spot.In my opinion, the Karaage, Donburi, Maki, Yubu tarts, and Tempura (the sauce is insane) are all MUST tries.I’d say more, but go for yourself and give it a taste! You’ll leave with a new favorite spot ;)
