Granary Schnitzel House Restaurant

We had a lovely dinner tonight at the Granary. I ordered the combination Schnitzel and it was excellent. They have a nice patio area. The service was exceptional. Highly recommend!

Given my Hungarian/German upbringing, this hot spot sings out memories for me with its delicious schnitzel with the letscho & mushroom sauce~combo, mashed potatoes and red cabbage! Wow! Superb!

My husband is born and raised in Germany and this is the most authentic German/Austrian cuisine we have ever found here in Canada. The namesake schnitzel is fantastic and service was fast and courteous. If you want the genuine article this is the spot.

We arrived with no reservation and the place was packed. The friendly hostess found us out a nice table which was great because we drove over an hour to get there.

We had several excellent appetizers and each of us chose a different schnitzel. Our drinks, appetizers, and dinner all came immediately, great kitchen performance and friendly service for a very busy night.

All the schnitzel meals were exceptional. Perfectly cooked, great combinations, and fresh vegetables in abundance.

No room for dessert!

Definitely worth the drive on a cold night, we will be back.

Went for dinner. Food was good. Service was cold & not too welcoming or friendly. Asides from the nice paintings on the wall, atmosphere came off the same as the service.

Great just made schnitzel variety. Good appetizers, nice house wine options.
The place is set in an 100 (?) years old barn, it make you feel in a country European eatery. The walls have a collection of original paints. Beautiful.
We had soup, the Bavarian Schnitzel, and scargots for appetizers, all delicious 100 % recommended.
Prices are right.

Excellent schnitzel! Loved the brie bites! Spaetzel and gravy could use some flavour but that's the only thing.

Small town, Evansville, with a big city restaurant. I've been there several times and on a recent trip through the area I suggested to my co-riders that we stop in for lunch. None of them had been there before. All four really liked the place and one said that he and his wife travel through the are now and then. He plans to take her there for dinner. The menu is varied and offers dishes that will please even the picky pallet.
The walls are covered with excellent paintings and a wall mural that will test your ability to decipher its meaning. The huge illuminated cherub playing it's lyre hangs above the bar area. Stop in and try their offerings. You'll not be disappointed. 😋😋

This has been a favorite restaurant of mine for many years. Consistently amazing, home-cooked classic menu items, ranging from their infamous schnitzel, incredible fish and chips, mouth watering sandwiches, absolutely amazing house made, always fresh salads, sauces, succulent desserts and everything in between. The atmosphere us cozy and charming whether you are dining alone or in a group. The cooks are dedicated and have many years of experience in the kitchen. The table side service is always friendly with knowledgeable and helpful wait staff who also have many years of dedicated service to this great establishment. Do yourself a favor and visit The Granary for a delicious and satisfying meal. Its always a pleasure!
