The cake was beautiful and absolutely delicious. She even sent me a photo of the cake when it was ready. She confirmed the delivery date and time and was reliable throughout the experience. “We tried Brittany’s cookies at an event; my daughter said they were the best cookies she’s ever had and would not stop talking about them. So I hired Brittany to make cookies for my kid’s birthday party. Best choice ever! The cookies were beautiful and delicious. Everyone — kids and grown ups — devoured them. “The custom Nanaimo bar cake that Shyla made for my daughter's 18th birthday was the most incredible cake I've tasted in years! I was worried it'd be too rich but it was perfectly sweet and made from scratch. Shyla definitely knows what she's doing in the kitchen and makes absolutely amazing treats. we ordered some macadamia nut cookies as well which were to die for! They were made fresh for us that morning too. Shyla will definitely be making more treats for my family in the future! Her homemade from scratch goodies are worth the slightly higher price tag!“

“The Florentine Cookie & the Almond Pastry were AMAZING.They tasted so good. I did not expect the Florentine Cookie to taste that good. It was so sweet but not too much. Had a chewiness too it to add to the nutty yet buttery & light chocolate taste. Really a perfect bite. The Almond Pastry was medium flaky but the powdered sugar elevates it & the hero was the almond custard in the middle. So scrumptious. I love how random this bakery is. It's in the middle of business buildings. Haha! One of my favourite bakeries I've been to in my life.“

“Country Mart is a cute little convenience store and bakery in the Kawarthas. I have been searching for the best butter tart in Ontario — and they were invented here, so the best one in the province is probably the best one in the world. You can see my thoughts on other good butter tarts in my other reviews.

The butter tart at Country Mart is one of the best ones I've tried. What really stood out to me is the crust. It's thick, flaky, and very soft, much more than its counterparts from other bakeries. I much prefer the texture of this tart to the crusts of other butter tarts, so that significantly elevates the product here at Country Mart.

The filling is also good. It has a pleasant texture, solid but also gooey, and with a very slight burnt taste that is very addictive.

Overall I was very impressed, this unassuming bakery punches up with the best in Ontario. Congrats to the owner and staff on baking such an excellent tart!“

“Coffee Times are a dying restaurant. And if you'd seen the ones I have been to - in urban centres - you'd say rightly so.
But this one is freaking incredible.
It has the feel of a cozy coffee shop but the atmosphere of a warm welcoming restaurant. The sad thing about this place is that the outside does not belie the exceptionally restaurant within - its clean, spacious, service is excellent, and the food - for a coffee time - is great. The locals seem to know that this place is a gem as there was a steady flow of them. But for weekenders, Sunday drivers, tourists, cottagers, et al. Stop by, have a seat, eat some food, and you will be happy you did.“
