I've been coming to Birds and Beans for years and sadly I've noticed a decrease in their coffee. I used to order only dark roast blends for the flavor and taste but I noted a weakness in the dark roast. Today I ordered a regular roast and also noted a weakness in strength and taste in this as well. I don't think I'll be returning as this is now several coffee's which have been disappointing.

This coffee shop has great coffee!
The small town feel spawned by the storefront architecture, decor, and layout enhances the experience.
Unlike the coffee chains, this shop has some clean tasting, healthy snacks to complement your coffee of choice. My only suggestion would be that they include canoli on their menu. That would have me going back regularly.
They have a small patio area in the back for when weather is warmer.
The clientele is a wonderful mix of young families, new Canadians, seniors. Oh yes, there was this vagabond sort of fellow who was muttering something about fisheries being in trouble, but no one cares. It was entertaining and sad at the same time. I didn't get the chance to ask him for details.
There were a couple of people with laptops, another lady reading. Overall, it's a good local cafe' where you can escape to from your apartment. There are lots of apartments in the area.
This place is worth checking out if you're in the area and enjoy coffee. Bring a friend and stay a while.

At the new location on marine parade i never get a hot espresso always just barely warm. ? Always out of croissants? As much as I love this coffee I find myself going to lolas or San vito now.

Everything here is always fresh, delicious, and made with so much love from the perfectly brewed coffee to the pastries that taste like a cozy morning hug. You can tell every detail matters, and that makes all the difference.
But the real magic of this cafe is Lena, the barista who turns every morning into something special. She’s like a cinnamon bun and the cherry on top of this place, she is kind, welcoming, and full of positive energy. She’s there every morning, greeting everyone with a smile and somehow making your day better before it even starts.
It’s rare to find a cafе where the atmosphere, you don’t just come here for coffee, you come for the feeling, for the people, for the little spark that makes your morning brighter.
Huge thanks to Lena, Adriana, and the whole team for creating such a wonderful place❤️

A place that actually knows how to use their $20000 espresso machine. Wish places would understand good espresso isn’t supposed to be bitter. This place knows what they’re doing. Delicious, and their spinach quiche was amazing I’m addicted. Everyone here’s so friendly too. 10/10

Lovely staff, a clean and relaxed patio in the back that is next to a small park by the lake. The drinks we had were okay, expected more flavour from the white chocolate iced coffee

Coffee Quality
I went with my go-to order—a flat white—and it reminded me exactly why I keep coming back.
Espresso: A rich, chocolaty aroma with low acidity, intense sweetness, and a juicy texture. The medium finish lingers with smooth notes of milk chocolate and caramel.
Milk Texture: Silky, creamy, and perfectly balanced with the espresso.
Beans: Commit – Birds and Beans’ signature espresso blend.
