Food is mediocre. Ordered Bbq Ribs, ribs had no meat on it, it was all pretty much bone. Customer service was HORRIBLE the waitress took forever to serve although there were NO customers. I had to wait 30mins to get my bill and she never once refilled my water. Don’t waste your time not worth the hype.

The beef rubs were so scrumptious! We met one of the owners,Ruben and he showed us around and gave us complimentary corn bread which was warm, freshly made and delicious.

Came here tonight because we just moved into the area and must say this was not what all the reviews reflect. The jerk chicken as far from jerk chicken ive ever had tasted absolutely nothing like jerk. The beef ribs is what we came for and I could not bite into them they were so tuff I thought the cow was still alive. I was told its a new chef and that the usual chefs were at rib fest. This is very unfortunate and we will not be returning. This is no way shape or form where you want to come for anything jamaican. I dont usually leave reviews like this but the disappointment in this place is real!

My favourite BBQ in North York! I always use Uber when I order from Brickyard BBQ and they always follow the Notes (I like my ribs Saucy!) The Ribs are juicy and flavourful, cooked to perfection and you get the FULL Rack! And the coleslaw is my favourite, always fresh! Keep up the great works guys!

I came here for the all-you-can-eat brunch buffet and had a decent experience, though there’s definitely room for improvement. Majority of the food was already out on the buffet station, but even though guests were seated and eating, the staff were still setting up when we arrived. The made-to-order egg and waffle stations were not setup. We had gotten there about 1 hour after opening, so we were surprised.

The selection felt a bit limited, dont get me wrong They had A LOT of meat options (bacon, pork ribs, bbq chicken quarters, wings, meatballs, smothered chicken, katsu-style fried chicken, brisket) but I would have loved to see more variety across the food groups, especially with vegetables (like steamed cabbage, corn, or spinach), some different bacon protein options (such as chicken, turkey, or beef bacon), egg whites (possibly could have asked for it at the made to order section, but they weren't open when we went up for our first plate), or even a little gravy on the side. A fruit selection would also be a nice addition.

On the positive side, the $5 mimosas were a fun touch, and the hashbrowns and brisket were soooo delicious.

Overall, the food I did enjoy was tasty, but this buffet would benefit from a bit more variety and smoother setup.

Would try again in the future.

The beef ribs were burnt. I told the Waitress and she told the chef, then she told me after I paid. The chef said that's how it's done, I was so upset that I came to support this business for the first time and got robbed. The Waitress seen the burnt meat and I could've refused to pay because all I attempted to consume was one rib and 3 wings along with some packaged French fries and took the rest to go. Everything was either too salty or too sweet to cover up the over burned meat. I didn't want it to look bad is why I asked for it to Boxed up. Never again.

I went for brunch. I was offer a drink 🥃 but never got it. The table was not ready and set. I asked for cutlery twice and had to wait.
The staff was friendly tho.

usually don’t write reviews, but this experience left me no choice.

If you value your time, your money, and your peace of mind, do not support this establishment — despite it being a Black-owned business. I’m normally a huge advocate for supporting Black-owned spaces, but this restaurant provided the worst service I’ve experienced in all of Toronto, and it would be irresponsible of me to recommend it to anyone.

I ignored the many warning signs in other reviews and decided to give them a chance anyway. Unfortunately, everything they described was true — and even worse in person.

The Service Was Abysmal
We arrived around 1:30 PM on Sunday, August 11th, and entered through a side door where we were casually brushed off by what appeared to be a manager, a server, and a kitchen staff member. We were vaguely directed to “go that way” if we were here for brunch. No warm welcome. No guidance. Nothing.

At the host station, we were met by a woman sitting cross-legged in a chair who barely acknowledged us. She told us to sit anywhere that wasn’t reserved. So we did — and then sat at our table for nearly 30 minutes without anyone approaching us. No server, no menus, not even water.

We eventually had to get up ourselves to check out the buffet. Nothing was labeled. We had to lift every lid to figure out what was what. The omelette station was unmanned, and we waited 15 minutes before anyone showed up.

Back at the table, there was no salt, pepper, or proper setup — just cutlery and small plates. We saw a staff member serving another table and flagged her down. She told us she wasn’t our server but would try to find them. Another 10 minutes passed before someone finally arrived. No greeting, no apology, just, “Do you want water?” We eventually got our drinks — again, after another 10 minutes.

No AC on One of the Hottest Days of the Year
This was on one of the hottest weekends in Toronto, and there was no air conditioning. We were left sweating, thirsty, and ignored.

The Staff Seemed Disengaged and Unmotivated
Many warming trays weren’t even lit, so food was lukewarm at best. The fruit platter ran out, and another customer had to request a refill — which took 20 minutes. I watched him finish two plates of food before the fruit even arrived.

I also witnessed complete disorganization: the hostess seated one family, only for another group to claim the same table through the manager, causing unnecessary conflict.

The general atmosphere? Frustration. People weren’t eating more than one plate — not because they were full, but because the vibe was so off and the experience so poor that they just wanted to leave.

The Hype Doesn’t Match Reality
The brunch is heavily marketed on TikTok and Instagram as a lively, Caribbean-style experience. What you get in reality? A chaotic, uncomfortable, and disorganized mess. Maybe influencers are treated differently — but regular guests are clearly not a priority.

And About Those Review Replies…
The owner often replies to negative reviews asking people to email them — but the email bounces back. If you want to follow up, you’re better off contacting the events coordinator listed on their site. At least she replies.

Final Thoughts

If this place doesn’t drastically improve its service, ambiance, and customer care, it won’t survive the winter. Toronto has plenty of Black-owned establishments that go above and beyond to provide good service and a welcoming environment. Support those instead.

Unless major changes are made, I strongly urge you to skip this place.

I paid 30 bucks to get to a birthday party that was not include the food now only that they cut me off at the bar. I don’t know why. I did not fight with nobody. I was not rude. I just party with everybody. Do not go to this place. It’s the worst service ever.

I know BBQ, and sadly my most recent experience for takeout at the Brickyard was not good. Here's the good, the bad and the ugly. Good: the beef ribs were tender and tasty, the sides generous and good, especially the coleslaw and beans. Also, the service was very good. Bad: The take out window experience was very strange. The area is unkempt and looks like junk yard. Also, the cornbread was more like cake and had a strange orange colour, and it was very sweet. The Ugly: the brisket was very tough and dry. I know brisket, I smoke it myself, and this was about the worst brisket I've had. It was definitely not cooked to temperature to make it tender, yet it was also dry and leathery like it had been sitting around all day. But the worst were the pork ribs, which is what I was really craving. They were inedible...and I can choke down most anything. They were dry and had a peculiar taste that I can best describe as old and freezer burnt ~ and I know freezer burn taste very well. They were also over-sauced, perhaps to disguise how disgusting they were. I rarely throw out food, and never bbq, but these actually went in the garbage they were that bad. Thankfully I included a few beef ribs in my order, and they did satisfy. All in all, a very disappointing experience, especially for BBQ. But any restaurant that doesn't serve fresh food will not be one I go back to.

Jerk Poutine is honestly the best, flavours are perfect and the quantity is perfect for a meal.
The jerk gravy tops it off, would recommend a little more either on the poutine or on the side as half of it is dry and doesn’t have any gravy.
9/10. <3

I first want to talk about the two #Stars that impacted my 1st visit. Bernadette (manager) not only came over to check on us even though we saw her up & down busy, but she took time to speak with us. We were explaining that this concept is great and loved the DJ, the staff and the food. Everyone was great! Our interaction with Bernadette was positive, informative but we will come back because of her and I am bringing others to enjoy this amazing atmosphere! Bernadette TY so much for providing a great experience when you spoke to us, you are doing a #GreatJob
#Bonus! I also want to mention Rebecca when I tell you helpful and sweet as could be. She helped me with a concern and like I said so sweet that I tipped her even though she was not our server bc her customer service was top tier!!! :)

Went there based on a IG post with my hubby and it was worth the money! We went for the all you can eat on a Sunday and the pricing is excellent for all you can eat with plenty food choices available. The food choices were excellent with lots of meat and fresh made food with a chef at an all you can eat was a nice surprise. Food areas constantly cleaned and replenished. Did I mention there was also a DJ, I liked the fact that the music was not so overwhelmingly loud, we could hear each other or speak to staff with no concerns.

The only thing worse than the service was the food. Dried and half burnt chewy ribs, and only excuses to why we waited for over an hour in an almost empty dining room. Only ate it because I was so hungry and waited so long. The 4 star rating is well deserved and maybe quite a bit high all things considered.
