Easily the worst restaurant experience I’ve ever had. The food was okay. Service was rude and painfully slow. The place was filthy. Nothing about this place is worth your time or money. Avoid at all costs.I saw my friend go through a very stressful experience while working here. They weren’t paid on time and were harassed even after leaving the job. It was disappointing to see this kind of treatment from an employer.
This restauraunt cannot handle reservations. Having booked a party of 12 for a birthday, the restauraunt seemed surprised when I arrived. After being told the table would be ready for seven, by seven fifteen the table was not ready. Twenty minutes after our reservation, I was told the table was ready only to be shown a table with six plates, four cups, no cutlery or napkins and a boxed cake perched on the side. Was I meant to set the table myself? The total disorganization of the staff put me in a very awkward position, and I was fortunate enough to secure a reservation at short notice next door at Kitchen Off 6th.
The atmosphere was hot, stuffy, and loud. I noticed several disgruntled tables with restless children, who had been waiting forever to be served. For what I witnessed, the prices on the menu are absolutely shocking.
Lived beside here for years now and went tonight to give it another try with my wife. Under the new ownership, it has sadly gone down hill. I don’t blame the server as she was awesome but was in the weeds, since she was the only one working on a Saturday night.
They tried serving us a bottle of $10 Fantini from the LCBO instead of the Montepulciano d'Abruzzo I ordered, which was $58 on their menu. However, it’s not the same grape variety or quality. Don’t know how they think we wouldn’t have noticed. 🙈 I said something but was told it was a similar bottle since they didn’t have the one I ordered on their menu. They ended up charging us for the Abruzzo bottle we originally ordered. We ordered two pastas, the mushroom ravioli and Cacio de Pepe. Both were subpar and were not homemade. Not good at all tbh. We got a pizza as well but it never came.
There are scratches and paint missing on the walls, mirrors were not cleaned, tables with food not cleaned off and the lights were flickering non-stop, which did not make for a great ambiance. I can’t understand how this place came under new ownership in March and this is how they decided to present this place and serve this type of quality of food, especially if the owners run other restaurants.
The bill came and sad to see we were charged for the pizza and the bottle of wine we didn’t order. Really bad all around. It’s sad to see another restaurant in this area produce this type of food and service as if people aren’t going to notice. Wooof!
They used to have great pizza and homemade pasta here a few years ago when we used to come. I wasn’t going to write this review but I thought people should know what they are getting into if they are going to spend their hard earned money, especially with all these fake bot accounts giving them five stars, with one review only lol.
Sadly, we won’t be going back again as we really wanted to enjoy this place like we used too. Hoping the new owners can turn it around here.
Amazing food and great service as always
I’m a pasta lover and the fettuccine Alfredo here did not disappoint. Creamy, well-seasoned, and a generous portion.
We split a pizza and a pasta dish, and both were amazing. It’s clear this place knows how to do Italian right.
The food was so good, I would like to go there again!
Let's start with how the food still lived up to the standards that I remember. It was enjoyed by the guests.
Service was terrible. There was not enough servers for a party of 30. It was strongly felt, as well as noticed, that they did not know how to serve a large party of people; I do hope that this will be corrected for future guests. The afternoon was not seamless like service I had experienced before, it was not organized, and properly planned out.
The communication between myself and a manager was not made clear as I felt there wasn't any easy way to finalize numbers and menu. For someone who had parties here before, I trusted that it would have been a good experience but it did not turn out to be that way.
Staff did rectify the multiple issues, as well as the owner but this experience will still be remembered by myself and guests.
Panna cotta dessert is amazing, Pizza was good but bit juicy and in appetizer it was some small italian rice balls that was also good. There dessert Panna Cotta is highly recommended must try.
First time eating here and it was pretty good, pizza, salad and dessert good! I will say the place needs to be better maintained! Better atmosphere like candles on the tables details like this more details needs to take care of…
But the food and the lady who attended us was great!
Restaurantji Recommends
horrible food and over priced go anywhere but here .. oily old crap
Went with my family. The pasta and pizza was great. I usually come here for the wood fire pizza, yummy :)
Horrible service food is cold and my plate was dirty
Have to say the food was good for most the part!
I was a bit disappointed with the carbonara dish as felt it was lacking a bit. However had a taste of the chicken vodka pasta my friends had and it was very good and the pasta was cooked perfectly.
Whereas mine was just a bit undercooked.
Will be back again to try something else!
Although I believe at one point in time this place was good I think we are past that time . Restaurant looks aged and is messy. Ordered a pizza and it was wet . First and last visit sadly .
