Real soft tofu. The soft tofu here is the best in Toronto. Even the sticky rice is the best. May you prosper! If you'd want to try real tofu without leaving Canada, here is the answer. So good. Everything's so legit, including perfectly cooked rice! They don't compromise the food. Recommend this place

I had been to this family run business a few times because of their food.Very traditional homemade food. The server is also the waitress, the owner, and the cleaner. Its a restaurant that’s run likely by a Korean mom and papa. I had never seen any other server. The sole server is a Korean lady, she knows limited english and when I tried to ask for more details for a dish, she would repeat the dish name. We typically cannot manage to finish a whole soon tofu bowl individually, so last time we went in a group of 4, we ordered their meal for 2 plus a few side dishes. She was not very happy and made a comment that slightly offended my guestsAnyhow, its again a clear reminder that I am here for their traditional food and definitely not for service of atmosphere.

3 small appetizers and 2 fish appetizers are free. We got the combo tofu 3 mushroom soup, it comes with purple rice. It was a bit too spicy for me even though it is mild but that is because I don't eat spicy. Everything tasted very good and it was large portion. The classical music was a bit weird in a Korean restaurant haha, but we didn't mind it. Overall a good experience, will come back.

Best Korean food ever. And I am a food snob. Home made tofu, authentic, with a clean taste. No junk food here, genuine earthen stone bowls and purple rice. Quaint decor but authentic, small but very warm. Light tempura not oily ... Just try it too much to like here. And I don't do many reviews.Vegetarian options: Tofu mushroom bowl, tempura, tofu teriyaki, golden rice bibimbap all excellent.

If you go, the dish to order is the chodang soon tofu (beef or pork). It is authentic Korean and delicious. Ya the decor, service etc. Isn't michelin star but you're eating tofu, in a strip mall so check those expectations. It's super good, hommade food.

Tried the chodang soon tofu with beef (“maximum” spicy), boiled dumplings, and tofuyaki. Thought it all tasted great! Tofu tasted silky and fresh in the spicy soup. Banchan also included a fried fish on the side which I don’t normally see at other Korean restaurants.

This a legit old school Korean spot with in-house made tofu which is featured heavily throughout the menu.First off, the tofu is absolutely top-class. Very fresh, subtle flavour, and delicious texture (medium to firm). If tofu is your thing, you should definitely give this place a try. They have a number of dishes that play off their tofu, but my favourite is the veggie dumplings. The dumplings are classic Korean style and steamed. I think I remember chives within the dumplings but because the tofu is so fresh it really brings out the adjacent flavours of the other ingredients within the dish. The Yaki-tofu is a Japanese style fried-tofu block with a sweet soy sauce marinade. This was ok for me. It wasn't super crispy and so I felt the textures didn't express the tofu flavour in the best way.The soon tofu dish is banging. At other soon tofu restaurants, there's a number of other ingredients within the dish (kimchi, bok choy, mushroom, etc..) I got the original pork and that's exactly what they delivered: ground pork, a clay pot full of homemade silken tofu and the deliciously spicy soup. I thought it would be boring with other veggies in the soup, didn't even miss it the tofu is so good.Classic side dishes are free (bean sprouts, kimchi, and also a nice taster of fresh firm tofu) with a very nice addition of two fried fish. That's different than most Korean places these days and very nostalgic as that's very old school Korean restaurant style. Finally, the best part of the tofu is that it tastes INFINITELY better the next day. We brought the dumplings and yaki-tofu home and left it in the fridge, I am not exaggerating, it tastes better the next day. I guess that in-house tofu recipe need a day to really let the flavours mellow into the dish.Big fan of this place, will be taking my wife there again.Vegetarian options: If you're a vegetarian, this is a must try. The tofu is close to if not the best in the city. Reasonable prices and the value of taking the tofu home is incredible as the food is actually better the next day.

I am very disappointed at the Beef Tofu soup. The portion of beef is unbelievably small . What beef? It is like minced beef. We ordered two tofu soup and the portion of the side dishes is for one person only. The place was not busy, only one other customer. There was no response when I asked for a check. I ended up went up to the counter to pay.Never will I go back there.

2.3/5This is review on soontofu jjigae and fried croaker take out. It's rare to see house made chodang soontofu place in toronto so I was pretty excited about this place. The place was close without any announcement so I had make 3 attempt to finally try their house made chodang soontofu jjigae.Chodang soontofu jjigae was 2.1/5.It was nice to try fresh chodang soontofu in toronto but extreme lack of seafood(frozen) in my soontofu jjigae was bit annoying. Many chodang soontofu are usually don't get a chance to form large pieces so I wasn't mad about how unformed my soontofu was. However, due to firming solution(salt+vinegar), my jjigae had little too much vinegary flavor. I'm not a huge fan of this as it interrupt overall flavor of jjigae little too much. So I was bit disappointed with this dish. If I go back again, I might try stronger flavour like beef ver. and see if that help balancing out firming solution flavour.Fried croaker was 2/5.Very thin small croaker. It was very good to pair with soontofu jjigae but it was way too small to the point that there wasn't much to enjoy. I recommend you to order one per person.Take out came with three banchans(side dishes). I didn't try them but according from my friend, they were quite good. Overall, it was nice nostalgic chodang tofu experience. Wish the food was done in little more quality but I understand that everyone is struggling with supply and inflation issue so I will give them few more tries to give them more accurate review in a future.

I've been here once before last winter and the food and service were okay. But I went again today and our two servings seafood soon Tofu soup smelled and tasted very funky. It did not taste like the dish I had the last time and it wasn't like other soon tofu soups I've had. We told her it smelled weird and it tasted very salty. She said how can it be that way and that she will have to make the soups again so we should just have these ones. She was very rude, said it was our preference and we can probably not take the spice, which was not true. She didn't replace the soups and stood beside our table staring at us for five minutes. It was very uncomfortable and later she did not come to us when we were asking for our bill although she was being very nice and chatty with other Asian customers. Horrible service, food was not good because they probably used bad seafood, although it was good last time. Really sad as I love Korean food and was excited to have a go to spot in this neighbourhood. Will never go again especially because how badly we were treated.

Tofu related dishes are really good. But DONT ORDER dishes that are not related to tofu - bulgogi, donkatsu, teriyaki. Meat were not fresh (had a old meat smell) and very hard to chew.
