We had the cheese tortellini and pecan butter ice cream. The tortellini was the best I’ve tasted in years. It had the right amount of salt and garlic - it was awesome! The ice cream was extremely flavourful and creamy - absolutely delicious.

The service was friendly. The atmosphere definitely gave me a wonderful Italian feeling.

I would definitely eat here again - every day if I could.

I hadn't been to Espresso Bakery for almost 2 years having moved to Ottawa and spending the cold months in Mexico. When I lived in that city full time Espresso was my go to place to eat and be with the owners who always treated me like family. Since leaving Toronto I refused to eat lasagna anywhere else because when I did in Ottawa and Mexico I was always disappointed. I spent more than 2 weeks visiting friends in the area and ate at least 12 out of 15 days there. I probably enjoyed their lasagna at least 8 times bringing some home for my host who said he had never eaten that much wonderful Italian food in his life.
Since I have known them for over 35 years I tried to meet Pina's family members on most Saturdays to catch up on the goings on of this tight knit group. Having been to several of the weddings and other gatherings and thrown many of my own Christmas Parties there some people thought I might have been a partner.
On this trip I saw so many customers who have been regulars for over 25 years and they all knew me!
If you want to enjoy delicious, reasonably priced Italian food and have a few laughs you won't find a better place than Espresso. Sometimes it feels like a reality TV show so come often and become part of the familia!!

The owners truly make this place special; their warmth and care can be felt in every cup of coffee and every delicious bite of food. It’s a wonderful experience that really shows how much they value their customers.

Stopped by this little family-run shop, what a treat! The chicken sandwich was fresh and delicious - you can taste the love in every bite. and the cannoli was just perfect: crisp, creamy, and not too sweet. The atmosphere was cozy, with kind folks running the place - they were extra nice to my baby who had been grumpy all day (I actually got a smile out of him as we were leaving). I’ll definitely be back.

I’ve been walking past this bakery for a few days, and honestly, it looked very inviting and friendly.
Today I decided to go in, but I can’t say the same about the staff.
At first, one of them was rude, while the young lady was a bit more polite.
I would’ve liked to buy more things, but with that kind of attitude, I’d rather not come back.
What a disappointment

I bought the freshly baked croissant which was fresh and crispy, and Boston cream which was delectable. Top notch service from the Italian nonna and her team!

Great food, great service. Homemade food from a local business that's been here for 40+ years. Feels like I'm visiting my Italian relatives. You have to try one of the fresh homemade donuts or cannoli. Can't go wrong with the lasagna. I usually get the salad with chicken.

This place has the most inconsistent service and I normally love supporting independent coffee, shops. So many locals do come here.

My issue with it was they have staff that work there they don’t know the prices a large latte should not cost nine dollars. Their medium latte was five dollars.

Don’t ask for anything outside of an espresso based drink because they don’t have any syrups and the staff didn’t even know what is a vanilla latte .

Italian bakery you would think they would have croissants but every time I’ve gone, they never have any. Considering supposed to be a deli or a bakery they serve lasagna, but not any croissant.

Forget forget the food for me. The issue was the staff not knowing the prices of items and charging you more than you’re supposed to pay for a coffee and they don’t have a menu posted so you can see what the price is actually are.

Most coffees are double shot espresso for medium or a large to any coffee shop I have been to in Toronto and I go to a lot of coffee shops

The café downtown Toronto , any latte based drink is double shots with milk plus they don’t charge you for using a different kind of milk and all their coffee based drinks or less than six dollars regardless of size.

Independent shop charging prices that are the price of Starbucks was a little Ludacris and I really hope they get a menu that shows people with the prices because I’ve gone twice and I’ve been charged for the same coffee two different prices. It’s like they’re making their own prices every time.

It’s a cute shop. I hope they improve their service.

I also told the lady making my coffee and wanted two large coffees twice and she still made me a medium and then had to make more milk while the espresso. If you don’t add hot water to it start dying and it’s not a strong coffee anymore.

That’s why it’s best to steam the milk while the espresso are done so that you can pour them immediately and I know this because I have an espresso machine and if you do the research if espresso shots don’t get hot water or milk into them right away they start dying within a minute

Also, there’s like very little space to sit here so maximum maybe six people can sit here

It just seems like they’re trying to serve everything just trying to focus on being a bakery and a sandwich shop
