Best Ghanaian food in Toronto and best price as well. Travelled 2 hours back and forth twice a week at least just to get some waakye when uber wasn’t a thing lol

I was recently in Toronto and wanted to try Ghanaian food. The agusi stew was disappointing. Tasted like undercooked tomato in oil. The beans stew was the same.

My gf Layal and I tried this Ghanan Restaurant on Islington last night that was a hidden gem near our tattoo place.
We tried the Fu-Fuo(potato dumpling),Jollof Rice(chicken&egg) served with mixed spinach.
Owner was very friendly and the spice was just right and still have left overs for today.
We are happy we tried this place. Next time fish dish

Decided to give the jollof here a try and was greatly disappointed ( especially with the price I paid) can’t speak on anything else on the menu. But I’ll never know because I will be not coming here ever again

Pioneer in Ghanaian food service in Toronto.

Firstly I would like to preface this review by saying I have been a loyal customer of this place and eating their food for over 10years. But today is the last day I will ever support this business!! I decided to dine in and was met with a horrible experience. When I tried to pay i was met with an extra fee just to dine in which was never mentioned before. The workers had a passive aggressive attitude and told me I should have read the menu. We went back and forth on how unfair this was to the customer but they were just dismissive till I firmly said I’m not paying that price. Why would I need to read a menu when I’ve been ordering the same food for 10 years!!?? No restaurant I ever been to has charged a different price to dine in, and if they did, I would expect them to have the courtesy of telling customers. Their restaurant atmosphere is nothing special so I don’t know why there’s even a premium price. The tables are filthy and there’s dirty napkins everywhere. Even when there was a tax break in the winter these people never took the tax off of their food like they were required to!! Also every time you visit you’re met with a $2 increase in their prices (yam and fish) and they ALWAYS fail to mention it till it’s time to pay. I’m absolutely disappointed in this business my advice is to spend your hard earned money elsewhere!!!

This food is great excellent service.

Came to dine in but The service is slow and poor customer service .
We had to wait for almost half an hour for the bill
They are understaffed and so the server was swamped and had no time to interact fully with me

Generous quantity and very tasty and yummy.

It was my first time visiting here. The service is super lovely. The gentleman at the front desk was respectful and chatty.
Food was one of the best I’ve had in a while. Will definitely go back.

Right now i dont rate this Restaurant any more the people that work there are very rude if you arent Ghanain they treat you bad my self & my daugther we go there for there food for fufu & peanut soup the lady was rude to us she doesnt even know my daugther is mixed with Ghana in her so people if you go there and u aint ghana watch how the ladies talk & treat u
