Excellent food for affordable price. We came across Hamdi by chance while strolling through Ridgeway Plaza. We’re glad we stumbled upon it because this had to be the best East African/Somalian food I’ve ever had. Our server Yunus was just amazing, and provided us with honest recommendation. They do not have a tip option on their machine so please take some cash because these people definitely deserve to be tipped generously. We ordered the roast goat platter with rice and salad with a side of lentil soup and mango juice. We shared the single plate, it was more than enough food and the rice to meat ratio is very generous. We also ordered some beef sambusa, burr, and mandazi for appetizer and dessert. Lastly, because the restaurant was extremely busy, our food took a little longer to arrive, but they were working super hard so allow yourself some time when you go. We were also too hungry to take any pictures 😂..

They messed up my order and only realized when I got home. When I phoned them, they said to come in for a replacement meal. When I went in to the restaurant, mohammed refused to give me the meal I ordered or a refund. No apologies for they mistake. I have been going there for over 10 years now, never again 😒

Good food, not so good service, and not clean, especially the prayer room is filthy. I might come back with the brothers but definitely wouldn't bring my wife here again.

I’m beyond shocked and disappointed by my recent experience at this restaurant. While bad service or bland food can be forgiven, what happened here is a serious safety concern.

As I was eating, I found a piece of steel in my food. Yes -This isn’t just unhygienic ,it’s dangerous. Had I not noticed it in time, it could have caused serious injury. It’s terrifying to think what might have happened if a child or elderly person had consumed it by mistake.
When we informed the staff, their response was shockingly casual ,as if this wasn’t a big deal. No genuine apology, no concern, and absolutely no accountability. It felt like they were more embarrassed than remorseful.
This kind of negligence is unacceptable. A restaurant’s first priority should always be food safety. Clearly, that standard is not being upheld here.
Also,
I strongly advise others to think twice before dining here. What happened to me shouldn’t happen to anyone.

Hamdi opened our eyes to the world of Somalian food back in 2004. We have been coming ever since. Every member of our family including older picky eating adults who only eat Desi food, to young babies- we just love hamdi. You can’t go wrong with anything on their menu. Make sure you get a mango drink on the side.
Our order is generally their large shared sunnah platters with rice and pasta with drumsticks and goat. Worth the traffic and car ride!

Xamdi is just not a Somali restaurant restaurant for the somalis anymore.the food is super salty, cashier lady had a resting B face not friendly at all and the cutlery wasn't clean.i recommend Bilal for the somalis that want the experience of eating authentic Somali food.xamdi didn't even have moos.what are they doing the whole restaurant should of been close because of that reason ?.
