We dined at Canto for both dinner and breakfast during our hotel stay, and everything was excellent. The food was top quality - flavorful, well-prepared, and beautifully presented. The staff were warm, friendly, and attentive, making the experience even better. Highly recommend!

Honestly, my review is based on ordering a coffee that was over priced and witnessing from what I could tell the manager and a waitress arguing over whether someone can get a free tea with their continental breakfast. The manager seemed really upset and was speaking quite rudely to the waitress. I regret buying a coffee and staying at this hotel

We just spent 2 nights and 3 days at the old mill hotel. We ate 2 breakfasts at canto. The service was horrible! I was the first customer and from the start, the server was frustrated and annoyed. My husband quickly joined and she was short and rude to both of us. At one point, when I asked for more hot water for my tea, she actually said ‘this is why I don’t like working on my birthday’ We were polite customers with simple orders. I complained to the hotel and they apologized but that doesn’t excuse her terrible behaviour.

A GEM in the west end of the city that is waiting to be discovered:) The food is FANTASTIC! The pics don’t do it justice. Chef Francisco brings his talent to the forefront with a variety of wonderful dishes. Service was attentive without being overbearing. This new restaurant is a MUST to put on your restaurant list!

This place is definitely a hidden gem! It’s intimate, charming, and has an exceptional atmosphere. The service is great, the food is delicious, and it’s a great spot for a date night or a special occasion. It’s also a great place for weddings, engagements, parties, or private events. I definitely like the feel of this place and would definitely recommend it. Five out of five!

Canto Bar is truly a gem. The food was exceptional — from the perfectly cooked swordfish to the melt-in-your-mouth beef brisket, every dish was executed flawlessly. The pastas were fresh and comforting, and the desserts (especially the cheesecakes!) were the perfect finish to a fantastic meal.
What made the experience even more special was the service. Mounim and Kaitlin went above and beyond — they noticed I was pregnant and that someone in our party had a gluten-free request, and they proactively made sure both were accommodated without us having to say a word. They even brought fresh fruit for our toddler at just the right moment, which anyone dining with kids knows is gold.
Despite it being a busy day, service was well-paced and never rushed. Portions were generous, and while I didn’t drink, the wine list was impressive — especially loved seeing a strong selection that supports Canadian producers (#buycanada).
We’ll absolutely be back. A perfect spot for a special meal or a casual celebration.

Went nearby for kayaking and a friend suggested this place for brunch. I was hopeful based on the location in the Old Mill hotel. I was blown away. The omelette was so fluffy. I thought the bacon was in it but on the side worked. All this fruit (and more, we ate some) for $9. I loved the julienned veggies and my friend loved the hint of mustard on the eggs benny. I chose multigrain bread and they had 2 other options too. I drink decaf and the cappuccino wasn’t bad! Service was good. Our breakfasts were in the mid $20s which is what I expect for a place like this but everything was amazing. I’ll be back. Am curious about their dinner but there’s no link to a site posted here on google. 🤷🏻♀️

Delicious food. As good and authentic as I’ve had in Puglia, Italy where the chef is from. Cool location at the Old Mill. Cozy atmosphere. Nice place for a celebration.
Really pretty spot. Risotto was delicious!
The meals here are excellent!
Fish and pasta dishes tasted FRESH and delicious!
I was fully satisfied by my meal at the Canto Restaurant. A great meal at a sensible price in the heart of Etobicoke. The gnocchi and risotto were both excellent. I will return to try other dishes.
Beautiful restaurant that we were hoping to love. Unfortunately the service was not attentive we had to wait 15 minutes for our drinks, and the mains arrived well before the sides. The food was lukewarm and quite bland, very disappointing given the cost. We really wanted to like this place, but that cannot be the case - not much more to it than the decor. This can all be fixed with attentive management and active listening to your clients.
