The signature loaf of bread ( cheese, onions and black olives) looks similar but is not at all the same.
Why people cheap out when they buy out an established business is beyond me.
After more than 30 years, I will not be back.

The service was excellent from a friendly young lady. I got home and ate my delicious sandwich.. I died and went to heaven which is where I found out must be where they make their chocolate canolis as well!

I've been coming here for many years, the staff always provide great customer service, and the food & bread are always fresh. I love their pastries and desserts, no other bakery comes close to their chocolate cannolies, beigne and Bacio cake. Their Bacio cake is super light, moist, creamy and it's never too rich or sweet. It really is the cake version of the famous Italian hazelnut & praline chocolate. I also recommend their cappuccino from the espresso bar, it's the perfect balance of bold & smooth!

I love this place and the new owners have worked hard to improve many things that needed attention. Waiting time during rush hour has improved, and there seems to be more floor staff. The store has been renovated with new floors and lights, and now it looks much brighter and cleaner. The bread, baked goods, deli meats, and imported Italian products are the same as with the previous owners. The cooked food in my opinion has also improved, the veal, chicken, pizza and lasagne look fresh and they have added a new unique item to their menu, chicken and veggie samosas. I am a long time customer, and I am very happy the new owners have kept the name La Rose Bakery and continue to serve the Etobicoke neighbourhood :)
