West-end “Burger Nazi”: Know What You Want to Order Before Stepping Through the Door
Looking at the other non 5-star reviews, most negative reviews are coming from “new” customers who inherently do not know what to order...
I’m a new customer. I walked in with my 5-year old excited to scarf down some freshly made burgers as we were shopping next door at the toy store.
I found the whole ordering process to be unforgiving: A) employee taking pre-orders was curt and gave me cut eye for asking for time to look at the menu; b) ordering at the till: experience was slightly better, but no instructions to simply wait until your name is called led me to just hang around clogging up the aisle; c) Toppings: the lady that put our burgers together was an unhappy robot — zero emotions and zero ****s given.
When we finally got our food it looked good. We sat down amongst the other patrons, and had a conversation with a newly retired couple sitting next to us that had been coming here for years. The patrons were much friendlier than the staff. The place seemed to be full of regulars...knowing how it all worked.
I’d give this place a higher rating, but it’s pretty clear they don’t want “new business”...rather, they’re simply happy to entertain the neighborhood regulars.

This place has a lot of hype for mediocre burgers. Went for my first time yesterday and a burger with fries and a pop was over $20. I asked for a cheeseburger but the cheese was simply a topping rather than melted on the burger. I regret having payed extra for cold shredded cheese on my burger. The fries were soggy and not tasty at all. Don’t think I will be back and Apache is a better option if you are in the area.
A quick and delicious burger

Man, it doesn’t matter how many new burger joints open, I always find myself back at Magoos for over two decades.
Can’t thank the staff and owners enough. Simply amazing. Thank you!

6 oz burger w cheese was really good and generous. I wish the cheese was melted on the burger rather than added as a condiment, but outside of that, it was really satisfying. Fries are on point. Whole place has a 50s vibe with nostalgic tunes playing. Service is heartful. Really enjoyed this place.

Burgers aren't bad, but the fries aren't great and the chili is bland and watery. Ordered some gooney fries as a pick-me-up and it really let me down

I visited this place 4 days ago after not having been here for years, and by years we are talking about since my childhood. Place still looks the same but too bad the original owner Mike retired, but it is still a family run business anyways.
They still serve good food, and I recommend the Dad's root beer as a drink!

I miss reasonably priced food. $28.00 gets you 2 burgers and 1 side of fries in this god forsaken city.
They don't accept Amex while charging these prices and $1.50 for half a scoop of shredded cheese lol.
It's a decent burger but I feel hosed everytime I go.
