December: Busy time of year for restaurants but we still got great service and great food.
It was a very nice brunch. All four of us enjoyed our meal. Great, friendly service. Delicious lemon dessert.
Felt pressured by the waitress when we initially arrived and wanted us to immediately place our order! Found that rude! There for a few hours and the restaurant filled up however not to capacity ! I have reservations there for dinner next Saturday snd hoping it's a better experience! This is the first I have had that kind of service at Merlot!
Our server was pleasant and helpful with his advice. The restaurant was about 40% full when we sat down and probably 85% full when we left. It was very noisy. The meal was excellent. I was a bit disappointed that, although when I booked I indicated that it was a special occasion (birthday), nothing was said when we arrived, taken to our table, or at any point during the meal.
The food, service and ambiance are wonderful....but the noise level in the restaurant is overwhelming.
The frites were no longer French Frites . They seemed as if they were frozen fries. The rest of the meal was excellent.
Lovely restaurant, food was excellent however the service was a little slow, food took a long time. The restaurant was lively, filled up after our arrival. The servers were pleasant . This was a first visit. Highly recommend the food.
Our lunch was excellent. We enjoyed the food and the service. This is a restaurant we will keep on our list of places to return.
Business lunch. Delicious food and service and good environment / noise level to have conversation.
I had the pleasure of being hosted and served by Chad, who was exceptionally personable and knowledgeable. He provided thoughtful menu recommendations for wine, appetizers, and entrées, enhancing the entire dining experience.
The calamari was grilled to perfection — tender, flavorful, and beautifully complemented by a glass of Merlot Pot De Vin. The duck confit was equally impressive, with a crisp exterior and rich, well-balanced flavor.
Overall, the service and culinary quality exceeded expectations. I look forward to returning and highly recommend this restaurant for anyone seeking an outstanding dining experience.

They have amazing daily specials and I'm a fan of their incredible French onion soup. Great spot for a delicious meal. Just wish they had more local Ontario and Canadian wine options.

A very good dining experience. Went off-peak so service was prompt and personal. Food was top notch quality and professionally prepared. Pricey but value received.

I can’t get enough for of this restaurant! Very quaint and homey. Takes me right back to France, art work and deco alone transports you there. Staff are phenomenal. The duck confit is always good here. Highly recommend.

Amazing French restaurant. The beef tartar was amazing and so was the duck. Great ambience with a comfortable casual setting.

The wine, desserts and appetizers were exceptional. The main courses were excellent. Our waiter was very accommodating and reseated us on the patio after being swarmed by wasps. In fact, the restaurant compted us on dessert for the aggravation which was very much appreciated. The staff bringing the food to the table were either inexperienced or just clumsy as wine glasses were knocked multiple times and sauce was spilt on the deck which attracted more wasps. Overall, a great dinner, but maybe will stay indoors next time.
