My friends and I have always enjoyed Prince Japanese Steakhouse, especially their chicken teriyaki but this latest visit was a letdown. The dish used to come with cut pieces, teriyaki sauce, soup, and salad, making for a well-balanced meal. This time, though, it was just a chicken teriyaki with cauliflower rice - no veggies except one lonely carrot, also no salad at all. I understand restaurants go through changes, but the price increase combined with the cutbacks on the meal quality feels disappointing. It seems like they’ve raised prices to cover renovation costs, but unfortunately, it’s come at the expense of the food experience. I really hope they bring back the quality and portions that made this place a favourite. Until then, it’s just not the same. Huge disappointment.
Love going here and the staff/food is always top notch! My favourite restaurant to go too when I'm attending Anime North
We celebrated my mother in law’s birthday and chose Teppanyaki table and we loved the whole experience. The owner greets and checks in with all the guests personally.
Fabulous chef's cooking display of great food.
The best
I have been a loyal customer of Prince Japanese Steakhouse for years - even back when I worked in the area and regularly came in for lunch. Sunny and the staff knew me as a regular. Sadly, after my recent visit on Mother’s Day with my parents and in-laws, I can confidently say I will not be returning again.
The experience was a complete letdown. The menu has changed, prices have gone up significantly, yet the portions and quality have noticeably dropped. What used to be a well-rounded teriyaki meal - chicken, salmon, or beef - always came with a salad, vegetables, and generous servings. This time? None of that. Just a basic soup and a very small portion of meat. No teriyaki sauce, no flavor, no effort. It was bland and felt like a cheap imitation of what the restaurant used to offer.
It’s obvious the recent renovations are being funded by cutting corners and shortchanging loyal customers. The value is simply not there anymore. For the price we paid, this was an utter disappointment and not even close to authentic Japanese standards.
Prince has officially lost me as a customer. I won’t be coming back and I strongly advise others to think twice before spending their hard-earned money here. Shame on what this place has become.
This is a great yummy food experience. Try the pressed sushi SO GOOD! At the teppanyaki tables the experience is smooth and organized. This is nice but also means there is no lingering when they are busy. The options and value makes this a good night out. Also I always upgrade to the fried rice.

The service was great and the staff are very attentive in delays getting our table. It is quite hot at the tapenaki tables throughout the night. The flavor of the food was quite basic but good. You are going there for the experience and not the quality of the food.

Great sushi dining area for good chill atmosphere for lunch/ more dimly lit for dinner time for romantic or quiet evening. Have yet to try the teppanyaki side, looks so fun!
