The girls at the desk are dedicated and care about customers. The food is finger liking and no overpriced at all. I left the place with a full belly and a smile in my soul. We recommend it with confidence. Yesterday, Jan 5, around 11:15 pm, I was working nearby. A coworker was hungry, and I decided to bring him here so he could experience what we enjoy so much. I stepped away briefly to use the washroom after explaining what to order. When I returned, the food was already packed. We paid and left. Back at work, we opened the containers—and I was shocked. The portions were nothing like what we always get when eating there. Just a few spoonfuls of meat, some lettuce and tomato. Both containers nearly empty. I felt embarrassed for recommending the place. We ate and accepted it. Then, near the end of the meal, we found a sharp plastic piece (about 20×8 mm) inside the food. That crossed a line. Someone could have been hurt. I’m not writing this out of anger. I’m writing as a loyal customer who cares. I hope you look into what happened during that shift and make sure this never happens again.

The food handling at Salama Hut is very poor. I spoke to management, but they were not willing to listen to customer concerns. I observed on several occasions that food was prepared without gloves.
When I raised this issue, I was very upset by the manager’s response. He became irritated and took the feedback personally instead of correcting the mistake. There was no proper place to file a complaint or receive guidance.

Amazing restaurant with a fantastic menu and great prices! Everything feels fresh and well made. The sambusa is especially good beefy, crispy, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. The Somali tea is absolutely delicious and a must-try. Great food, great value, and a place I’d happily recommend to anyone. I’ll definitely be coming back!

The customer service at this location is quite slow. It would be beneficial for management to provide additional staff training and consider adding more cashiers. Each time I visit, there’s a long line with only one cashier handling all customers and at times, the same person is also preparing food orders. This creates unnecessary delays and leaves a poor impression for such a well-known restaurant. Improving staffing and service efficiency would make a big difference in the customer experience.

Their somalian tea is really good. The strong ginger and cinnamon taste makes it different than other places.
Hit or miss. Dined in twice and that was nice food. Had take aways 3-4 times. Take aways were low quality. Each time it felt like they gave us something else or a mixture of things. In my most recent visit couple of days ago, they charged much higher than the price listed on their menu screens, forgot to give me an additional chapati for which they charged $3 and fuul was not fuul at all. It was a mixture of maybe a bit of fuul but mostly red beans and chickpeas. This kind of cheating is horrible.
