An absolute Gem. The fish is consistently excellent and the ramen is the best West of Bathurst. My favorite bowl in the West end.

Shin Ramen and Sushi is a really excellent little spot. I used to pass by it often on my way to school and work but never had the chance to stop in—until recently. I’m glad I finally did.
Parking can be a little inconvenient, but there is some street parking available just to the left, free after 6pm on weekdays. The restaurant itself is on the smaller side, but it offers a fair amount of seating. I’ve gone on both a weekend and a weekday, and each time I was able to get a table right away without waiting.
The menu is surprisingly large and varied. I tried the takoyaki, Shin Shin ramen, shoyu ramen, chicken karaage, and the Salmon Paradise roll—all of which were excellent. Portion sizes are generous, everything tasted fresh, and the ramen noodles were perfectly al dente with amazing flavor.
My only critique is that the Shin Shin ramen, advertised as '1 spice level,' was much spicier than expected. I even overheard other customers mentioning the same. That said, the flavor was still fantastic, and everything else was perfect.
The customer service is always friendly and accommodating, which makes the experience even better. I highly recommend this spot if you’re in the area—it’s become one of my go-to places now.

I was quite disappointed with the miso soup I received. On the website, it appeared larger and more generous, with tofu pieces that looked substantial, but in reality, the portion was very small, and there was only one tiny piece of tofu smaller than a dime. On top of that, the flavor was not enjoyable and did not meet my expectations based on the description and photos.

The food is wonderful. It's been a long time since I've had such good sushi, but the staff doesn't seem to like making more than one order. I recommend the ramen because it's very well prepared. The first time I went, the sushi pieces were larger, the second time not so much; I found them a bit small. But I'll definitely be back.

I was planning on trying one of their ramen dishes with the Naruto fish cake. When I got there, they were advertising a summer special which was the zaru soba with shrimp tempura for $17.95. I had to try their special.
The zaru soba was your typical offering plus it came with 3 shrimp tempura. In addition, the dipping sauce came with diced green onions, wasabi, and grated white radish which is typical in Japan but not here. Other places skip the grated radish.
The noodles were cooked with a slight texture, well cooled and topped with sliced nori as standard. The dipping sauce was flavourful but slightly on the watery side. I would have preferred it to be slightly thicker so that it clings to the noodles when dipped.
What as truly surprising was the volume of noodles which was double of other places in Toronto. Best value in town since others also charge the same price with half the noodles and no shrimp tempura.
Located just west of Kipling on Lakeshore. The restaurant has a variety of ramen but also does sushi and other Japanese dishes.
Definitely will be checking out them out again. Worth the drive for their summer zaru soba special.

Visited on a Thursday afternoon for some lunch before a walk by the lake. I ordered the spicy roll combo (I think) which had a HUGE portion size! I need to learn to read menus more carefully. Nonetheless, it was delicious, at a reasonable price.
The service was impeccable. We were seated immediately, and our food came out within minutes of us ordering, faster than any other sushi restaurant I've dined at before. The waiters were so kind! In addition, the atmosphere was great, and the interestingly designed tables were a cool touch.
Overall, this was a yummy experience. The prices were gentle on my broke university wallet and the friendliness of the staff brought warmth to my soul.

Food is good here. a little over priced when it come to the combos though. no additional miso soup, salad or rice with combos. salmon sashimi isn’t as thickly cut compared to other places. it’s great if you’re in a rush. fast and friendly service and the interior is beautiful and intimate. I will definitely be coming back.
