Service is really slow. The place was not busy and didn't appear understaffed but we were left for far too long between check ins, especially with a family (two kids 8,10). It was our daughter's birthday and she mentioned it to the sever about 4 times. But absolutely nothing was done to acknowledge the occasion. (I realize this is a classier place that isn't going to bring out the kitchen staff to sing or anything but at least a candle maybe or a “happy birthday” when delivering dessert??) Instead after dinner we ordered the kids ice cream which came, much later, half melted. The young guy who delivered them to the table, who was not our server, said, “Ya, the bowls just came out of the dishwasher.” Well, at least they were clean but the ice cream did not stand a chance and ice cream soup did not go over well with the 8 year old. Not the first time I've had slow service at this location but I don't think I'll go back if I can help it after this experience.

My family and I came for dinner on Sunday.
While, for the most part, everything went well in general, my personal experience wasn't great.
Our server took everyones drink order but forgot to take mine and hurried away. I had to order it when she came back with everyone else's drinks.
They also made everyones dinner but mine. It had been forgotten or something along those lines. So I got a free salad to eat while I waited.
Unfortunately, I was too full to fully eat my order once it arrived between Apps and the Salad. Which, of course, most were done eating at that point.
They offered me a free desert as an additional apology, so I chose the brownie. After waiting 8 minutes and no sight of our server, we just left. I mean, I doubt they bake it fresh, so how long does it take to throw a piece in a box and bring it to the table.
Plus, at this point, I've waited to order my drink since I was forgotten. I didn't get my food with my 6 family members because I was forgotten. I didn't want to wait anymore. The feeling of they forgot my dessert they offered me as well was enough to just leave.
The server was really nice, and im sure it's not all her fault.
Otherwise, the food was pretty good. The experience, on the other hand, for me personally wasn't.

I stopped by State & Main in Etobicoke today and had an unexpectedly great experience. The place was super busy, but Victoria our server still managed to give amazing service — super friendly, attentive, and on top of everything despite the rush. She really made the experience feel personal. Food was good too, but honestly, the service stood out the most. Definitely coming back!

OMG I love this place. There was an AMAZING waitress and she was SOOOO nice! her name is Frankie. shoutout to Frankie. I asked if she could make the pink lemonade slush free. And first try she said yes. I hope I cone again and meet Frankie again. Five stars overall. Oh also I loved the music and the vibe inside. Ty for reading

Overall it was a good experience, food was good and the waiter was efficient. I'm disappointed that I put in my reservation notes I was there for a birthday but it was never acknowledged.
Happy hour offered good deals. Service was great during a big game on TV. Good alternative to similar places like Jack Astor's or Boston Pizza.

All the other State & Mains -Vaughan and Oakville do not charge extra for baileys in the espresso martinis but this location does. Not consistent with food - Baja Brussels sprouts were SO loaded with salt - the table next us also complained about this . Asked for water - took forever. Used to be better but has definitely gone downhill.

Had the salmon dish.... Absolutely delicious 💫 Overly pushy server. From beginning to end he would ‘suggest' add-ons or other selections. Way too much! Maybe he tried to be a thorough, informative server but instead was very annoying. All the dishes ordered at our table were enjoyed.

Great experience! Each of our family members ordered a different meal and drink. We were also so pleased that we shared around the table and everyone loved everything! The kids especially enjoyed the mocktails. Great atmosphere, service and food. It's on our list to visit again soon.
