The food was okay, but the service wasn't. I ordered a custom breakfast, and only half of it arrived. When I politely asked about the missing items, the waitress became defensive and insisted I hadn’t ordered them, even though others at my table confirmed I had. Her response was condescending (“you didn’t order that, dear”) and unnecessarily argumentative.
Mistakes happen, but how you handle it does matters. A simple note-taking process or confirming the order with the customer could've avoided the issue entirely.
I won’t be returning to this branch.

We’ve been coming to this Sunset Grill for almost a year since we live nearby and have always enjoyed the food. Unfortunately, our experience with Marian has consistently been negative. She is unfriendly, cold, and often has an attitude for no clear reason. This week, when our 14-month-old son was calmly walking near the coffee counter (with me watching him closely), she spoke to us very rudely and said, “Take your child away from here.” The restaurant wasn’t even busy. What makes it worse is that we recently learned Marian is the owner, which is very disappointing. As loyal customers, this behaviour makes us seriously reconsider coming back. On the positive side, Susan is always warm, friendly, and professional. She even apologized for the situation and consistently provides amazing service. We truly hope the owner reflects on her approach, because if this continues, we will need to find another brunch spot.

Came here for take out and why are my charging dine in prices for takeout? Three eggs turkey bacon home fries cost $18. That’s crazy. The home fries were flavourless we threw them out. The girl serving also had a lot of attitude. They only have menu on the cash table so if someone is cashing out and you’re trying to look at the menu, you’re really close to that person which makes it super awkward. Won’t be back

Warm, charming and welcoming atmosphere. Fantastic and delicious food. Our server Melissa overheard it was my birthday and she went above and beyond. She even put a little birthday candle in my breakfast poutine.

Came with my 4 year old son. They asked if we wanted a kids menu and we said yes. My son with the kids menu in front of him asked for french toast and bacon. We were brought the full adult sized order of both items. When we went to pay the bill we pointed out to the manager at the register what had happened. Rather than be apologetic and take accountability for the mistake the manager became defensive and told us that we must have ordered wrong and felt it was necessary to educate us that lots of people order food for their children from the adult menu. This poor reaction from the manager leads me to believe that the staff are probably trained to take advantage of children to make a few extra dollars. We will not be returning.

Sunset Grill is a great spot for breakfast — the food is delicious, service is good, and everything is usually quick and smooth. The portions are generous, and the prices are reasonable, which makes it a reliable go-to.
I’ve been there several times and I usually share the Meat Lovers omelette and chocolate chip pancakes with my friend — both are absolutely delicious! It’s always a satisfying and tasty experience. Highly recommend for a casual and enjoyable breakfast.
